You're thinking of the Hollywood Heritage Series™ due to come out for next Christmas. It'll feature film sets and stars of many of the most famous "classic" films of both the silent era and "talkies". Relevant here will be the Lego™ characters for such worthies as Mae West, Jayne Mansfield, Gina Lolabrigida, Elizabeth Tailor, and of course Marilyn Monroe. They reckon to stop around the 1960s, although they mean to include the first few Bond films.

There apparently was talk of including Raquel Welch but they finally decided against her on the grounds that her movies all reeked.

That still leaves a whole lot of cleavage to be added to Lego™.... :D

PS -- I meant to say how much I've enjoyed the art in this thread, and a big thank you to everyone for making my visit to the NS forums a little more interesting. I may even use some of these cards.

In my imagination, there is an office somewhere on the UN property that generates all the Statues, Parades, Holidays, and (pardon the expression) Fluff expenditures that all government organisations have to spend their time on. (Think of the three full-time staffers at the US Congress whose sole job is to raise and lower US flags that have "flown over Congress".) The NSUN SPHF Office is part of the Public Relations Office, has perhaps a minimal budget (or maybe a tip jar), but doesn't actually get involved in international legislation.

I was hoping to upload a cookie to the NSWiki! NSWiki is down often enough that I do all my NSWiki first in one of my user subpages on wikipedia.

But now that you mention it, I wonder many of the UN cards are copyright violations?

Probably quite a few of the non-hand drawn ones are, especially mine, but lets be resonable here. The cards are made for a bit of fun. The pictures aren't being sold, or used for any commercial purposes.

create a shared photobucket account?I don't know if that would or could work. When I set up my account (ages ago), you were limited to one account, enforced via IP checks. A "shared" account might end up getting deleted, along with everyone's "main" accounts.
