Izual had lived through many notorious battles over his 1000 years of angelic life. Being the only demonic angel that he knew of, he had always had a more sinister aura about him. Whilst many angels did what was necessary in service of their master, Izual was a warrior and lived to fight. He wasn't always too concerned with who the enemy was, but it was usually his demonic brethren that hated him so.

Although Izual had advanced through the ranks of angel and now sat among the Cherubim, he was becoming restless. It was true that much power came with such a ranking in the light, but Izual did not always agree with some of the laws put in place that restricted the use of such. He knew the potential of a demonic angel rose beyond where he stood, the light was indeed holding him back.

Because of such, Izual had finally decided to leave the light. His angelic power was outdone by only a Seraphim, but his demonic abilities left a lot to be desired. Whilst training with the angels, Izual had learned to harness that side of his gift, but being away from demonic kind left him with only some limited knowledge of his untapped abilities. It was time for Izual to plunge back into the darkness. He couldn't return to the world of Lord Arithon, that place was forever closed to him. Luckily, there were other demonic breeds out there, other stores of dark knowledge and other black magiks. Izual would reach his full potential and become something the lands of demon, man or angel had ever seen before.
________

The dark figure sat at a quiet bar, completely wrapped up in a large brown trench coat and wide brimmed hat. He conversed with no one but the bar keep when asking for a beer. Time in the human world had some odd effects upon one of his kind. Although it was not necessary for him to eat or drink, the consumption of alcohol had become an unstoppable habbit. It had an interesting effect upon him that he enjoyed, but the infamous hangover was never an issue for one of his kind, it was physically impossible.

Hopefully his contact would show up soon. The man seemed to know a lot about ancient texts, particularly demonics. If all worked out, Izual would know the location of an ancient demonic tomb and his contact would be a rich man. That's if things worked out...

He was late. Izual couldn't understand why humans always ended up being late, even when there was no reason why they would be. Men that kept him waiting displeased him, those that displeased him usually tasted the end of a angelic/demonic blade.

Izual went over the details, making sure he had conveyed them correctly. The bar was called World's Gate, quite appropriate since many creatures of different worlds tended to end up in here. Patience continued to flee the angel as time passed by, every ticking second taking another chunk.

Beer 15, still not contact. The bar was begining to attract a large crowd, filling the building with smoke and noise. Izul had never liked smoking, even thought it couldn't kill him, he hated the foul stench of the combined toxins. Alcohol would fulfill his indulgences for now, until he moved onto the important matters...

A deathly slim figure walked into the bar, his ivory skin disturbingly contrasting to the black mixture of clothing and armor that covered all but his neck and head, giving him the look of a pale floating head in the dim bar scene. The figure peered darkly at Izual before confirming this was the man he had arranged to meet with. He sat across from him in one of the dark seats, deadened golden eyes boring into the demonic angel. Silence as the floating head waited for Izual to begin.

OOC: Finally.... :) Thanks for helping this get off the ground...

IC: Izual sighed when his contact finally arrived. Already impatient after the wait, he could only hope the business would be quick, as he didn't particularly like this human. Many may have found him somewhat intimidating, but Izual was far beyond anything of the mortal world, even thought he appeared to be nothing more than a mere man at the moment.

"You better have the information I seek, or you will regret being so late."

Izual's tone was flat, yet held a slight menace in it. It was obvious the angel wasn't happy and that he wanted the information quickly and without any trouble.

The head let out a short, cruel laugh. "Or you'll do what, kill me? That is irrelevant, I have what you want. The maps that lead to what you seek were destroyed long ago by a group of wise men who understood what they led to. That too, is irrelevant, for I have seen this tomb myself. It lies on the island of Hokkaido in the far north of what was once the Japanese Empire, where the Ishikari meets the Hidaka and the winds are trapped and stagnate for millenia. In the cave wreathed in crystals of blood you will find the tomb of a samurai clan who gave up their souls and sanity in return for the wrath of Hell itself to course through their veins."

OOC: I left it vague so that it could be open for many. I'm happy to play modern or ancient... modern would be more interesting for what I have planned though. That alright with you guys?

IC: Izual simply returned a smile filled with restrained wrath.

"Death is a minor punishment within my ability, but it is of no matter, for it seems you have done your part. Now name your amount and I shall have it to you within the day."

Izual was eager to get to this temple and discover a vital portion of his awesome heritage.

Karen Johnson walked through the door of the bar. Nothing out of the ordinary to her. She walked up to the bartender and got a beer before sitting at a table. The famous archeologist was now giving lectures to various univeristies who were doing anything they could to get her to come in, dig some of thier nation's past, and help get interest into the field.

Her son Ian Johnson, was back in the Golden Simatar studying some pottery shards they had found at an old temple in the Barishu mountains in the northern part of the country. Ian had also been made somwhat famous and had also lectured and appeared on magazines and TV shows like his mother. Unlike most men in his field Ian stood out, he was just short of his 17th birthday.

She pulled out a newspaper and began to read. Now she could relax for a while, before getting hired for another expedition by a goverment, univeristy, or private party.

A familiar figure sat in a darker corner of the bar, throwing back vodka shots like a creature of a much sturdier constitution. The drinker was a young hunter named Arakesh Quickclaw.

Life had hit a new low for Arakesh... A series of bloody bandages encircled his left arm, right leg, and chest. Arakesh was young for an Argonian, aged seventy-three years, barely out of adolesence by his peoples' standards. While he was a skilled bladesman, he had been defeated. A vampire elder had soundly thrashed him, adding a greater insult to his defeat by taking his vampiric fang necklace, but leaving Arakesh with his life. Such an action was a deathblow to his honor & self-image.

Young Arakesh was now a lost soul, he would not return to his homeland, his pride would not allow it. He felt his god, Makaal the Marsh-Father, had deserted him. Arakesh no longer cared for any diety, for what use where they? Such a defeat had taught him he was weak. Jealosy had crept into his mind. A greater hunter, such a Whiptail Longtail, would not have fallen to such a foe... Then again, Whiptail was far older & far more humble in his victories than Arakesh had been.

The young hunter continued to drink, ignoring the scents of demonic beings in the bar. Arakesh's pocket outlasted his mind, finally the disgraced hunter slid downward in his booth seat, unconcious...

Izual drained yet another beer as he looked around the room. Of course it was filled with questionable characters, some of which he would have been obliged to kill were he still in service of the light. Thankfully that was no more, and he could worry about his own issues at hand.

What did strike as odd was the woman sitting at the bar. He wasn't sensing anything supernatural about her as his eyes bore into her soul, searching for a demonic taint. Nothing. It was rare for an ordinary human to visit this place, very rare. His contact although human, was more than he appeared, that much was obvious.

Turning his attention back to the odd human sitting before him, he asked a few questions.

"What do you think the best way to locate this place would be? I don't have any knowledge of the area or of locating such places without destroying it in the process?"

OOC:You said it was okay for me to join? If not, or I don't RP to the par level, just ignore this...

IC:The triad finally encountered some luck.
Their prey had come out in the open and had a meeting.
Kwitch went in the open, of course disguised his hunched form and fur with trenchcoat and other massive cloathing items, he slipped in, hopefully unoticed. And slinked over to a nearby table(near to the demonic angel and withered guy).
The heat is killing me. But, I can stand it, this is nothin to those damn stunties cannons. I can't believe it, here they are, giveing out information the seer has wanted for years. Now, now this chase will end, and I can get back to the warm darkness.

Snarkitt used a tunnel underneath the bar, directed by the foreseeing warpstone, he positioned himself under the area where the pair were.
Yes-yes, this is almost over, then I can finally take a vacation, then get better contract.
At this the black garbed figure smiled, but it looked more like a grimace.
Vacation, better contracts, oh horned one, I'm whining like a man-thing. Instead I'll go skin some later, maybe from this establishment
He shuffled his hands until the right tool was found, "Yes....skin some man-things". Eagerly, he pulled out a crude listening device. It's crude, but powerful thanks to the warpstone. Holding it up to the roof of the tunnel, he focused on the two voices he wanted.

OOC:As for the third triad member, he may or may not turn up.
I'm not claiming anyone would notice them(especially the angel would, or others like him), but these guys are really good assassins(an assassin of assassins), so you would have a hard time seeing them. I have to go, but logging on will be spotty.

Karen was not oblivous to the fact there were some strange people in the bar. For that reason she carried a Walther P99 automatic. She didn't like carrying it, but several people had tried to rape her, and the sight of the pistol mostly scared them off. She sipped her beer as she went over her notes of the temple Ian and her had found.

The bar-door opened, allowing a powerfully-built man to enter... Dressed in a casual way, he attracted little attention. Fingerless tactical gloved hands held a bloody K-BAR & an equally stained white cloth. The man wore a black hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up to conceal his features. Black fatigue pants & a pair of Magnum-brand duty boots of the same color gave him a suspicious appearance, as did the knife he was quickly wiping off...

The right boot was fitted with a bootlace holster, containing a compact Glock chambered for a .45 ACP round. The opposite boot held a Gerber Survivial/Explorer knife. Under the sweatshirt the man wore a shoulder-rig containing an AMT M1911A1 Hardballer, beneath which was the sheath for the K-BAR. Opposite the handgun & sheath was a trio of magazines for the weapon. Several more clips where concealed on his person at various locations.

The man seated himself, slipping the cleaned knife back into its sheath. A drink was ordered & he seemed to relax a bit...

The man smirked as a heavily armed human stepped into the bar.

'Well well, looks who thinks weapons are jewlery.' He joked to himself, before turning to his employer with a tight-lipped smile.

"I'd suggest you find an archeologist, someone experienced." He told the angel. "Tell them you're looking for blood crystals on Hokkaido, there are very few places you can find them. If they're smart, careful, and know a bit of mythical lore, they should know where to look. The animals in the mountains are fierce enough...around the tomb, they have been turned into abominations by the power there. Be as careful as you can be, the tomb is fragile...as well as tempermental."

"As for payment..." He began after a short pause, "I want you to harvest for me twenty pounds of blood crystals, as money is no good to me." He tossed a phone number across the table. "Call me once you have fufilled my request. And, one more thing before I go. I know what you are, and I am impressed that you seek a balance within yourself. I warn you, drink greedily of the darkness and you will find yourself in a very bad position."
Arithon

Izual also took notice of the armed man that had just stormed through the front door. Whilst mortal weapons were not lethal to him, he did feel pain just like any other being and did not wish to come accustomed to the sting of metal launched at high velocities towards him.

The demonic angel nodded at his contact's suggestions, that did sound logical and easy enough to accomplish. At the mention of his warning, Izual's attention snapped fully upon the man. For the first time he began to get an idea of what this man may indeed be, one that it would not be wise to cross after all. Izual kept his eyes on the man as he took the phone number.

"That can be arranged easily enough. I can assure you, I have no intention of doing anything rash."

Izual thoughts began to drift to finding an archeaologist. Deciding to take his chances, he began searching the minds of the humans present, hoping to find what he was looking for.

Karen's legs were propped up on the table. Her kaki shorts hiding nothing of her long slender legs. Several men in the room turned and smiled at the woman but stopped as they saw her streach, reveavling the automatic. It was a common ritual, legs, grunts, gun, no more grunts. She held a photograph of the scrafical chamber in the temple she and Ian had found. Reaching into her backpack, she pulled out a sattillite phone and dialed a number.

Back in the Golden Simatar, in the basement of his grandfather's manison, Ian sat at a table covered in pottery. The entire basement was Ian's playground. Long stainless steel tables covered with marked artifacts, maps, photos, painting, drawings, covered the wall. As he studied the incriptions the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hello Ian."
"Hey mom."
"Ian do you have the scrafical chamber on your computer?"
"Hold on." Ian spun around in his chair to the computer and typed in a quick series of commands and had the picture of what Karen had up on screen, but now in a 3D image of the room. "Got it."
"Go to sector 13C and can you make out the inscription?" She heard more typing. The image on Ian's computer grew larger as he entered the temple, passing over the stone slates where the virgins would lay, to the sector his mom had asked for.
"Take me about an hour." He said.
"Alright, love you dear." She hung up. God, I love and hate being an archeaologist.

OOC: Hey, Arithon, I have a old character that needs dusting off. Can I have her come into this story? She is an angel named Rashel. I am not sure if I have ever used her in a story of yours, but I know Cyberutopia is familair with her from New Beginnings. Cyber...is your character also from that one? Is it David? So, can I join?
Wandering Argonians

Arakesh's thoughts where those of hatred & shame... He no longer served any cause, ideal, or diety... From now on, he would serve himself... He would seek power, beyond any he had previously encountered... This disillusioned hunter knew little of where to find such power. Magic had never been his strong suit, so that was out... His semi-concious brain thought feverishly, the alcohol filling him with a need, a desire, that he had not felt before. He must find this power, and he must find it soon...

((Hey, I remember Rashel! She was a good character. Sadly, my character from New Beginnings was just another character that got shelved when the thread died. But, your question got me to thinking...that character could be David when he was still alive, they're both rather dark, despondent people, so it could fit. After all, David forgot his name when he died, so that could easily be his past self. What was that guy's name? Jyai? I think that was it. I'm thinking Rashel could show up and somehow reconnect with David. Yeah, that'd be good.))

OOC: ATG, you're perfectly welcome to join with your angel character.

IC: Izual's search of minds had brought up a few interesting results. There was at least one human that specialised in such cases as ancient temples, and there may be others in the bar willing to help find it. Deciding to take a chance, the cloaked angel stood.

"Everyone, may I have your attention for just a few moments. I am searching for the ruins of an ancient temple on Hokkaido, are any of you interested in aiding me? Of course you would be compensated for your time and efforts."

His gaze swept over the eyes upon him, waiting for a reply.

To what end and purpose I wonder Izual?

A familar voice floated gently and politely into Izual's mind. It was of course, the voice of Kain. He continued.

Would you require my assistance? I cannot help myself in person...but, I do have someone who would...someone I need to make more wise in experiance. He is rather unique, but very able in the arcane arts. Would you want him to help?

"What is your interest in finding one of these temples." Karen asked. Many of the men's eyes drifted to her. There was a hushed murmmering as people started to reconize her. Karen was known to have strong dislikes for persons who just dug at old sites to grab what is inside for thier own profit. She prefered working with univeristies, museums, or people she knew they were digging not for thier own profit, but for thier nation's history.
The Horned Rat
17-08-2004, 15:30
OOC:Wow, just out and ask....cool

IC:When the demo-angel stood, Kwitch froze, ready to strike or flee. When the angel made his announcement, he relaxed slightly. He roused(spelling?) himself, standing his full 5' 7", and spoke up, "I represent a...special intrest group, who are interested in....locating artifacts, my group can provide you with men, weapons, equipment, funding, anything you require"
The Golden Simatar
17-08-2004, 15:36
Karen looked distastefully at Kwitch. Christ, another ass trying to get rich.
"And who are you exactly representing?" Karen asked Kwitch.
The Horned Rat
17-08-2004, 19:30
IC:
Kwitch noted the slight anger in her voice, but was a bit surprised.
Who is she? Why does she care? One way or another, the council's wish's will be done.
"I come from....away, but my nation is ancient, but was persacuted, and we lost many records and billions of lives, now we are trying to piece together our past"
The Golden Simatar
17-08-2004, 23:47
Karen looked at Kwitch. She had heard this story before.
"Ohh, really. So, are you representing your goverment or some rich, fat, slob?"
The Horned Rat
18-08-2004, 00:10
IC:Ha, rich die easily, not spending enough to be protected from assassination, and our goverenment is so disorganized in these areas, probably half know of what were doing....
"Who I represent...I represent the holy one and his apostles, and their wish's will be done"
OOC:Am I RPing ok, I don't think so. (What is the angel doing all through this?)
The Golden Simatar
18-08-2004, 02:39
"Oh, who is this "holy one"? And what are his interest in the temples?" Karen continued to press. She still sat in her chair with her legs propped up on the table. She was completly relaxed.

OOC: I think you're doing okay.
The Horned Rat
18-08-2004, 03:17
OOC:People who have attended mass in my nation(very few, allies, or those who lived after fleeing(none of those :p )) would find out that the holy one is the skaven god(The horned rat), I am not reffering to my nations name, but it is named after the god. His apostles are the council of thirteen(that is none by most who come in contact with me, but who they are is very hard to find out).

IC:"The holy one leads the master race(skaven belief again, since we live underground, our god says one day we shall inherit, what that inheritance is is(that sounds weird, but right) the surface), he is our creator, our god, and his intrest in the temple is unfathomable(literally, even my people don't know, we just do what he says)"

Snarkitt had already fled through the tunnels, delivering this new development.
They will be pleased, I can finish this up and leave. Years of trailing, makeing virtually no money. O horned one, I can't wait for the end of this...
The Golden Simatar
18-08-2004, 03:26
Karen snorted. Another puppet of some religous prick who belives he is the one to bring his people to the promised land. As if I haven't heard that before from other people. Karen finshed her beer and with the flick of her wrist it flew in the air, just missing Kwitch's head, before landing into a trash can near the entrance. There was a short appplause at her accomplishment. She turned her attention to Izual.
"So, what is your interest Mr.....?"
The Horned Rat
18-08-2004, 03:35
OOC: Blow...tavern....up....must...resist.....
IC: His races curse, the black rage, began to stir in him.
The will of the council defied, just let Surka blow this place with the explosives(read Shadows of Power to see how common my people use C-4 everywhere). No...no, we still need them, but his wish's will be done, o yes.....
Kwitch was fast enough to dodge a bullet(if he knew he was getting shot at, and had distance), but his seething anger stopped movement. His body motions and expressions were easily controlled, with ideas of hurling warpstone stars into these man-things throats, he slinked out, soon ditching his disguise and returning to the tunnels.....
OOC: Don't forget, one more is still there, and the other two may return, so I'm not out yet.

Izual smiled for no apparent reason to those within the room. It had been some time since he had encountered Kain and it was good to hear from him again.

"If you say he is trustworthy my friend, then I would be more than happy to have him along, aiding my search."
________

The angel watched quietly as the woman began an interrogation of one offering his services. That did not matter, manpower wasn't so important, neither were funds. He only really needed Karen and perhaps a few others to comfortably locate the temple.

"You may call me Izual. I've had an interest in ancient ruins for many years. Whilst I am not of your profession, I do appreciate such places and merely want to experience such a place for myself. Of course museums could then work on the temple, afterwards."

Alright...he will be entering.....around now I believe.

And with that, Kain's voice faded.

---

"Am I doing well?"

"Indeed, just remain concentrated. Focus on the wave of possibilities and focus on the new wave you wish to wave into the reality wave. Remember that similatanousnes is the key. Chant, visualise, move."

The being did as his mentor instructed, the spell was taking form. Kain could not believe how easily the construct had performed the spell! He had only been up and walking for around a week, and already he had mastered the basic spells and was easily picking up the more harder ones.

The construct was now becoming bathed in green light, a teleportation spell. But something was wrong with it Kain realised, the construct had inversed his wording incorrectly in the chanting. He was about to correct and advise himself, but the construct amazingly realised his mistake and quickly went back and corrected himself. Such multi-tasking Kain thought! It was amazing! These people where incredible, they would do his will very very well....

"Kain, what if I-"

"You will do fine D'tok. I will be there to guide and watch you, but you can trust Izual. Just watch out for the others and remember what I have taught you about the world and magic....your abilities surpass many young mortals D'tok."

"R...Really?"

"Indeed D'tok. Now.....go and see the world!"

And with that, the construct was gone, in a warping of green arcane energies. Kain only hoped that he would be alright....he laughed as he realised that he was like a parent now....

But he did not toss the thought away about being a parent to D'tok....after all, he did create him.

---

"O...oh dear."

His soft stuttering voice was barely heard as he was lying outside the tavern....in the middle of the street, his robes all over the place. It barely covered what he really was, and what he really was....was something remarkable indeed.

He looked at himself for damage, he flexed his three fingers, the metal and wood making no noise. His clothes where a bit damp....but that was nothing really. D'tok could certainly feel pain, but it was a more secondary function than a primary function. D'tok could feel if he was getting torched by a spell, but the pain could be shut off so he could concentrate on a counter-attack. It was how Kain had intended.

Picking himself up, brushing himself off.....he entered the tavern.

He is in there. Find him, find Izuel.

"O...Okay"

Don't reply in that form....people might think you where crazy speaking aloud.

D'tok chuckled a little bit, rather innocently. Kain was continued to be suprised....D'tok could chuckle? If he can do that....that means....

D'tok opened the door, his staff still in his pocket, folded up. His green glowing freindly eyes saw a hell of a lot of people....it was very confusing. All he had ever seen was his mentor Kain....and these people where so....strange! They had five digits on thier hands...and thier skins! They where not like Kain at all....but, Kain did say that he was not like anyone else, and neither was he.

"Urm.....ur...ex....excuse...me? Is there.....urm...."

D'tok's timid voice could barely be heard over the racket of people conversing He looked at his feet, his two digit feet...which bore no resemblence to any of these people's feet, only Kain's feet....he suddenly felt very very alone.

D'tok, call out his name. Have confidence in yourself, you are meant to be here.

Somewhat confortated by his mentor's voice, D'tok said slightly louder, but still quitely, "Is there....is there a person called...Izuel here?"

Kain spoke to Izuel,Izuel, look around. See that strange mage of metal and wood, that is who I have sent...

And the sight was something indeed.

Izual was becoming irritated, he didn't want to deal with this troublesome woman if she wasn't going to be of any help. If need be, he could find the temple himself, it would just take much longer.

"My only goal is to aquire a few bloodstones and read the inscriptions, that is all. Besides that, I have no intention of 'pillaging' the temple."

Izual looked towards the door as Kain's voice directed him. Several men were giving the construct and odd look and Izual had to admit it was a strange looking creature, but he knew better than most that looks were extremely decieving.

Standing over most people in the crowd, Izual called out to Kain's construct.

Karen took little notice of Kain's creature. She was laughing her head off.
"Bloodstones?! Bloodstones!? My friend, you believe that crock of bull?" She tried to calm herself down, but this was hysterical. "Bloodstones are just......HA! Just rumours." She finally got control of herself. "Alright, I'll help. But blood....." She started chuckling again. She was also one not to believe in ancient ledgends. She took them into account, but never believed them. But if this nutcase wanted to find them, she would help, but it was a wasted effort. She kept chuckling.

"Urm....yeah! Yeah, Kain sent me! Yeah.....urm....my name is D'tok...apparently...."

The construct seemed highly shy, and more like a child in stance and action. He looked at the floor a lot, and did not seem to have a lot of confidance in his abilties. That was indeed a high contrast with Kain's confidant walk and talk, and sense of certainity about him. D'tok's appearance was highly fooling in considering his personality.

He was smiling, but he seemed very very awkuad here. He felt completely out of place.

"Well, urm, Master Izual, I should help you out in what way I can...." D'tok remained quiet for a moment in thought and then after a few seconds, he exploded into excited speech, the kind of speech a child would use to tell a story or how good something was going to be. He seemed to remember the things that Kain had said that he was excellent in doing.

"I can use spells to help people and I can be really really useful sometimes in identifying strange and spooky things Master Izual, Kain said I am awfully good at casting spells, he liked it when I teleported in just a minute ago, although I don't think I should have landing the way I did!"

The proceeding speech took D'tok around 6 short seconds. He did not have to breath, so the words did seem a bit scrambled and together, and a tad confusing. But, it was still understandable.

"Oh...sorry. I can speak a little too fast sometimes.....is this better Master Izual? And...by the way, Master Kain has a bloodstone! Yes he does! So that silly person does not know what she is talking about!" D'tok said, eager to please and with a chirpy way of speaking.

The pale figure merely sat with a twisted grin, watching the trio in their pointless battle of wits. He heard a soft voice, more because of it's contrast to the harsh, alchohol tinted voices around him than it's volume. He looked at the strange mage with intense interest.

'This thing is from Kain? I've heard of him...I guess he made it...or something...' He was quite honestly baffled.

A tiny black bag was exposed, and the figure fiddled with it for a moment before extracting a perfectly clear crystal formation that looked as if it had been speckled with red inside and out, and gave off a faint aura of red. This particular bloodstone was not of great quality, but the ones at the tomb were bound to be more abundant with a richer red, after their prolonged exposure. He would have gathered what he needed for himself, but there were numerous...reasons he didn't feel like it.

'Rumors. Right.' The man gave a low laugh and slipped it back in his pouch.

Izual walked right up to Karen, stopping inches from her. His eyes glared directly at the smaller woman as they gave off a bright red glow, completely engulfing his entire eyeballs for a few seconds.

"Sometimes, there is far more truth in legends than you will ever understand. Keep in mind how Troy was discovered."

Turning his attention to D'tok, Izual smiled as he approached the construct.

"Yes, I know how Troy was discovered. Shielmann dug a massive trench, destroying thousands of years of history. He also had a copy of the Iliad, it could be argued some parts of Homer's tale is true. I'm not trying to be irratating, but you must understand, sometimes, there are more rational things behind legends." Karen said. "Archeology isn't an exact science."

She could only imagine what they saw. They saw a woman in her early 20s with wings. She could have been what people from other nations called a Victoria's Secret Angel, but she was real. Her dress was merely something she wore for the respect of other nations; she would rather not have anything on. So, she picked one of thin material and didn't cover much. It was a white silky gauze that flowed to just an inch above the ground, but in the front was cut to mid-thigh. Her neckline was short and revealed much of what she and other women were blessed with. From her neckline down to her hips the material was taut against her skin, as if another layer. She loved the feel of leather against her skin so she decided to wear it. Her boots, knee high were connected the corset, which was connected to a necklace. The corset attached her gloves to her sleeves. On her forehead she had a crown of the same black leather. Her hair was golden brown, more of a caramel and it fell gracefully down to her gluteal region, the waves in her hair appeared to be a river flowing with the wind. In her right hand and attached to her arm she held a katana. The attachment was a crystal rosary. And her wings whiter than fresh fallen snow, beat rythmatically with her respirations. She had an aura of golden light around her and now she was walking into a place where darkness was.

She had just walked around for the past few centuries making little visits along each place. She had seen many things, many different things. She would not be surprised to see this angel here. She would let him play his game and she would be there to watch and to keep things in balance. That was what she did.

After her little Troy speech Karen pulled out a laptop with a camera and mike. She decided to let D'tok and Izual talk while she looked up bloodstones. Within a few seconds a person was on her screen.
"Hello Ian." She said into the mike.
"Hi mom." The image of her son said. "I still have some work on those inscriptions."
"I need you to check to see if any bloodstones have been discovered."
"You're kidding."
"No."
"Alright." She saw Ian turn around and type rapidly on another computer. "Well mom, looks like you must of sprung a leak. No such record of bloodstones exist, execpt for descriptions on what they suppose to be."
Karen nodded. Just what she had thought. Someone bumped her table and the camera shifted to the woman who had just walked in.

Calm and collected as David usually was, he could help but let out a tiny gasp. Two angels? Here? In the freaking middle of freaking nowhere? This angel held nothing back either, of her beauty or her true form. She even looked mildly familiar, as did her katana. His hand unconciously drifted down to his own sword, and he shook his head in disbelief. There were rumors his sword had a twin, but that was ridiculous.

If Rashel were to direct her gaze just a little to the side of Izual, she would too sense some familiarity. The angel hadn't seen a whole lot of Jyai while he was still alive, but his chiseled, once attractive features were hard to miss. The flowing black hair he had in his mortal life had been cut short and had lost it's former sheen. But most distinctive of all, if Rashel caught a glance of the pale figure's arms, she would see the dull steel of retractable blades grafted into his arms, blades she once clashed with in a battle of sport, and she might, just might, remember the man she taught to have faith.

IC: A slam of the glass and a giggle mixed with the surrounding noise. Rashel looked to her left and saw a woman on a laptop. Hmmm, looking up information I presume. She smiled at the lady as she had noticed her looking at her. She turned her gaze back to the empty glass and looked past the woman and the angel. Something drew her eyes to that place.

She gasped. She could not take any air in or let any out. It can not be.

Her eyes could have burned holes in him, with her intense stare. As she spoke, the bartender poured her a drink, and not the water she had ordered, "It has been so long dear friend. How are you?"

Izual ignored Karens little Troy speech as he knew it well, he had observed some of the excavation, curious as to what the man would find. Izual took D'tok over to a corner and sat him down, away from Karen or any others.

"Don't worry about Kain, he is fully able to take care of himself. If he does need our help, he'll call for it and we can get to him with relative ease. As for my quest. I am searching for a temple not far from here, this temple contains many things, only two of these things are of any real value to me. I must collect a certain amount of bloodstones as payment for a contact, and I wish to read the inscriptions about demonic arts within the temple. I assume this temple would be guarded by either creatures or spells of some sort, so your talents may be useful indeed."

Izual looked up as the angel entered the bar, her aura distinct and obvious to most in the room. He didn't like the idea of an angel of the light being so near after his defection. He knew the light would not take action to hunt him down, but they may choose to intervene with his activities if the deemed it necessary. Either way, he didn't like it and directed a hostile glance towards the angelic figure.

As uninteresting as Arakesh found the bar after regaining conciousness, he resolved to stay. A few new patrons had entered since his brief pass-out, such as a shady-looking man, a rat-creature, and a rather striking woman.

His alcohol-dulled senses flared to life as the distinctive scent of evil reached his nostrils. The sweet aroma of good also in evidence. Apon further sniffing, Arakesh located a vampire in the bar as well... The scents of good & evil seemed to be coming from a single individual. Arakesh resolved to get a closer look. Izual took notice of the conversation between his contact and the newly arrived angel, he didn't like the way this was playing out. Before he could say anything, the tingling sensation of magic in the bar aroused his senses, diverting his attention to a shadowy figure in the corner. First guess told him it was a mage, but one could never be sure.

Considering the rising amount of threats appearing within the bar, Izual decided to search over the rest of the populace. Before long he noticed a slight glint as an odd looking creature attatched a weapon onto his back and moved slightly closer to him. He didn't like this at all.

"Of course Master Izuel....as long as I am not in the way at all." D'tok said, still rather concerned about his usefulness to Izuel. His green eyes seemed to darken slightly as he concentrated upon the set tasks, to view for possible threats.

Now, this is where D'tok was unique. He did not think in the usual way, nor act in the normal way. His vision was unique, this thought process was unique. The writings which Kain had used to base the construct upon gave no indications to what the construct could accomplish and was capable of. His green eyes hid the ability to detect a mage's defences upon them. His simple metal mouth hid the ability to speak fluently in countless languages, and his mind the ability to learn languages within a few days.

But of course, he was still like a child. But behind the child behaviour was something which was a force to be reckoned with...

The man's arm was dead cold to the touch, and the angel could feel a deeply buried hatred seething inside his veins. Her happily sparkling eyes were met by empty orbs of gold, through which no feeling could be channelled.

David turned his eyes downward and spoke with the familiar gentle voice he had not used in many years. "I...I am changed greatly. I could not follow what you taught me, and...I died in grief and mental agony. But then, I was raised from that blackness and found myself a creature of the dark, with a hunger, one that I was not used to, and it drove me insane. I worked as an assassin of mortals, for mortals, and I killed many, forming a reputation for myself. But that insanity destroyed every bit of my mind. I could not think for myself, and could only kill. A kind young man helped me from this, he restored my mind, but I could not be the same. I went on many journies of solitude, fearing I would go on another rampage, but on one of these journies a strange feeling filled me, and another being which I could only hear filled the voids in my head. He gave me commands, to seek out the chaos and balance it with the influence of order. As you are here by the light, I am here for the darkness. Rashel smiled and then her laughter began to ring out in the noisy bar. She quieted down once more and said, "Not was. How silly of you to say that. You are still him and he is still you." Her nose wrinkled, "Well, okay. Let me explain it this way. You are kind of like a catepillar that being Jyai and now you are the butterfly, which is David. You have evolved into something new and different, but you are still the same thing. A catepillar is not the same thing as a butterfly or vice versa, but you cannot have the butterfly without a catepillar. In a sense they are the same thing. Or maybe you can think you have mutated to your new environment. Am I at least alittle more correct in saying that."

She folded her hands together and then let them go. She placed her hands then over David's and encased them in hers. "Have trust in me at the very least."

She blushed as she noticed they got several coos from some nearbys and she took her hands back.

"So, why are you here?" Her eyes went over to the other angel. I must find out what he plans and to get to know him. He knows I am here, but how do I gain a bit of trust from him?

If David could have blushed, he would have to a tremendous degree. Instead he merely nodded his consent.

"No matter how you put it, I am by nature a dark being. I never wanted to become what I am, or to have this new environment. I have lost every trace of humanity I ever had. But I will trust you, from the little of my past that I can summon, I know that I can." He lowered his voice some. "As for why I am here...the darkness calls, and I answer it. I watch it, and if need be, I destroy it.

((Now for the second post.))

The creature that was David warily watched Rashel approach the demonic angel, and his hand drifted under his cloak. Izual was...an easily aggravated individual, from what he could tell. The last thing he wanted to happen was to lose Rashel, especially after just being reunited with her.

A voice and an additional sentinence flickered to life in his head. 'You've only just met this strange woman, you fool. Is she who she says she is? You've given her the promise of her trust, but are you really ready to uphold that? You rush, my dear pawn, you rush...hahaha...'

Izual turned back to Karren as she spoke.

"I'm ready to leave now. I'd like to get this over with as soon as possible. I have seaplane arrangements that can get us there easily. Do you have much gear to take?"

The angelic voice behind him caused Izual to spin around quickly, ready to draw his blade if necessary. Although there was no blade on his body, one would be a fool to presume he wasn't armed. He looked down at the smaller angel, a blank expression upon his face. Izual didn't want anything to do with the light anymore, he was a different being and viewed all others with suspiscion.

The angel merely drew back his large coat revealing thick black robes with his custom ensignia upon the breast. A finely crafted blade, tip pointing towards his stomach. One half of the blade was a bright white whilst the other, an eternal black. The hilt was a dull grey, representing the mixture of both side. Stretching out from the hilt were two wings, a white feathered wing on the side of the dark blade, and a black, leathery wing on the white bladed side. Izual had designed this symbol to represent his kind, a demonic angel.

D'tok stared cautiously at the rusty vehicle, unsure of what it was or was supposed to do.

"Umm, master Izual... what is that thing?"

"It's a car D'tok, it will take us where we want to go."

Izual said the rest of the sentence within D'tok's mind.

"I know that you can perform teleportation spells, as can I, but this human is oblivious to our magiks, and I'd rather not startle her unless absolutely necessary."

D'tok merely nodded and remained silent.

"Don't worry that's always falling off, a little duct tape will fix it right up. Oh, Izual, please hand me that rod will you?" Izual handed Karen a large metal rod which sat behind the passanger's seat. She opened her door and turned the key. The engine coughed and sputtered, but when it was about to die Karen swung the rod down on the hood, the engine started right away. Karen climbed in and smiled at Izual. "Like my father always said 'When something mechanical doesn't work, give it a good bash'. So, where is the airport?"

Izual wasn't used to travelling in machines, let alone one as sickly as this. It was obvious that D'tok was uncomfortable, and he didn't particularly like it either, but Izual decided to leave such up to Karen, she seemed to know what she was doing.

"Take the main expressway until you reach the west edge of town, it won't be hard to miss."

Karen noticed the pair's discomfort, and was enjoying it. She calmly drove, shifting lanes when needed. Her lights didn't work so she had to stick her arm out and do the motions herself.

She kept driving till she reached the west end of town and spotted a sign for an airport. She drove off the road into the airport's turnout and droved down the single land road till she reached a parking lot.

D'tok had sat rather unconfortably within the car. But after a few ajustments to his knees with a few careful fiddlings, D'tok seemed contented. D'tok was half metal and wood, bound and made by magic and thus had affinites to his elements. The metal of the car vibrated around him, and he wondered why he did not understand the language the car was speaking.

"Master Izuel, why couldn't I understand that construct? I can usually understand most languages...unless this construct speaks some other language the Library did not have....and my translators would have triggered in the presence of a other language....are they not working?" As the lingering conversations died Yisa returned whispering, “I believe going to that island is still the correct choice of action.”

Nodding Aenu pulled himself out of the light, away from any wandering eye of angel or others. Breathing deep he prepared himself, half muttering he slowly and surely crafts sigils in the air. Slowly his feet began to blur, first the edges, till nothing but a shadow remained.

It seems you are leading this angel to a source of evil that I assume you know about. Yet, you have me, who is of light. And how would the temple feel of us in it. Will it build guards up against me or him? Tell me of this temple. Then I shall speak with Izual."

Her eyes met David's, "I know, but it will happen sooner or later and I would prefer it to happen, so I am acquainted with his aura and his ways. Do not worry, he will do nothing to me until he gets his hands on those bloodstones. I would just like to get mine on them first to stop whatever plans he wants and if it means getting alittle roughed up before hand I am not scared."

David stared out at the dark horizon, much as he had done during their first conversation so many years ago. "As much as I would like to side fully with the light, none could ever accept the darkness that is my form. I do not think even you could bear it. You are pure, righteous, everything I could not be. And as tempting the dark is, I cannot let myself plunge into it. Instead I opt for the middle. I prey upon those who lose control of their chaotic auras, thereby keeping the balance of the world's energies in a seperate war from Good and Evil. Somewhere out there is my counterpart, the Guardian of World's Order, and he counteracts my purpose, seeding chaos. Together, we form the perfect balance of neutrality. I believe we can never face each other in battle, for that clash would surely set insanity upon the world."

He sighed and stretched his wings before folding them behind his back once more. "The temple. It tolerates me, as I have been inside of it before. The spirits there told me their story. They were a samurai clan that hungered for power, and allowed a band of demons to possess them. They were foolish, and the demons used them as connections to the material realm to fight against their counterparts, a band of angels. The angels were slaughtered, but the demons betrayed the samurai, imprisoning them in the temple. Their dark energy seeps out of them, a little bit each day, causing their spirits great pain. That is why the bloodstones form there, and the wildlife around it is violent and far more powerful than normal. I do not think they would react kindly if they knew I brought an angel to their place of torment, but I do not know how they would react to Izual. He could obliterate the spirits by taking all of their dark energies at once and become phenomnally powerful, but the consequences of this I do not know."

"So, basically what you are saying is that we need to stop him before he enters the temple."

Silence loomed and a blank face appeared to mask her worries.

She looked out over the horizon with David, it seems as if Mother Nature herself feels my pain. It must happen, if I end up losing then I do.

"Jyai, what if I were to go to the temple and come up against these demons. I could defeat them and then we could deal with Izual when he arrives. We travel faster and you know the area more than he or his little guide does. This can be done and I will do it."

Here words flat without emotion and were indefinite.

He shook his head slowly. "I cannot face him in battle until his inherent light is overtaken by his inner darkness, which may or may not happen at the temple. Furthermore, whoever destroys the demons there may set off a catastrophe and kill anyone inside, or maybe nothing will happen. Rashel...more than anything, I don't want you to take that risk. It is selfish, but I cannot bear to lose you."

"It is selfish, but I cannot bear to lose you."

Those words struck her, she had not heard those before, especially from Jyai. The times have changed him and she hoped for the better.

She hugged him soflty. Whispering in his ear, "You cannot lose me. Even if I am not actually in front of you, I am here," She touched his heart and then his forehead and then she released him. "I am everywhere, you just have to allow yourself to see it. The light can be in the darkest spot, but one must look for it because sometimes it cannot always show it self."

A sullen look crossed and flickered on her face. "Yes, there are so many things that could happen, but wouldn't it be better if we tried. Sometimes the light does not always succeed, but it is always replaced. I can be replaced."

"But if you do lose me, I would feel guilty. Jyai, things are set in a certain way that even I cannot change or fight against. I go willingly even if I have to leave you. God has his plans and even his highest angels do not know of these, we just go along with it. If it be his idea for me to die trying then be it. At least I knew I fought against something evil and not with it."

Tears filled her eyes, she felt heavy right now, as if something was weighing her down. "I know it is hard to understand. It took me several," hysteric laughter escaped and then she continued, "ions to realize it. I thought I lost you numerous times. We always had our ways of running into eachother. Our past works with the future it always felt to me. Yet, when we were seperated that bond grew more because I knew you were there, alive I was not sure, but I knew I couldn't lose you because I always remembered you. A person can lose someone when they forget them that is how we angels die. People still remember me, one of my fellow counterparts has never let me out of her mind. She is my muse. I am sure you see her in me. Lady Amanda. You have heard stories of her right?"

"Well, never mind that, but I am still here. I remain here. But things need to be done. So, you must realize even if I die physically I won't die to you if you don't forget me."

A smile flickered on her face and remained, "Its kinda works like legends. They are only legends if people remember them, right?"

She rubbed her hands together. "Now, what is the plan?"

The night seemd to pass quickly. Izual had been lost in thought, considering what his contact and the meddlesome angel would be up to. Finally the sun burst over the horizon and filled the land with light. Not long afterwards, Karen arose from her tent.

"Aye. I don't need much sleep anyway. I'm ready to leave when you are. How long from here?"

Izual was beginning to get impatient, knowing the more time they stalled the more time the angel had to intervene. D'tok was also sitting around the camp, quietly examining his surroundings for the moment.

"Give me time to get dressed and give you guys a safety speech."

Karen walked back into her tent and 15 minutes later emerged wearing a pink t-shirt and kaki shorts. She spent another 15 minutes putting various things into three packs, flashlights, flares, chem sticks, batteries, spare walkie-talkies, small picks and brushes, some food bars, etc. She handed one pack to D'tok, one to Izual and kept the last for herself.

"Now it is about a two mile hike, we should cover that in less than a half-hour. On terms of safety. Noone goes out of sight of the other, we stay in constant communication, and watch out for any runes or writting that might show a booby trap. I have worked on sites where there were crossbows rigged centuries ago, and they can still fire. One man was killed by such a device four years ago, arrow punched through his heart. Things will happen, stay calm at all times, no matter what. Lets go."

They spent the next thirty minutes hacking through thick underbrush until they came across a small field, at the other end was the temple. It's grey stone staircase rose about fifty feet into the air, before reaching a open corridor, flanked by two massive pillars covered in writting.

The trio stared at it for several mintues before Karen took the lead and lead them up the stairs towards the unknown.

Once the trio of adventurers were within three paces of the two oblisks, a shimmering wall of crimson snapped into existiance between the oblisks. Though it was more a test than a dedicated barrier, anyone who touched it who was not purely of the dark would receive a sizable surge of chaotic energy. The crimson light reached like shadowy daggers down the length of the corridor.

Izual hadn't said a word as the trio trudged through the jungle, hacking away everything that stood in their path. It wasn't long before they finally came across the temple. A thin smile spread across Izual's face. Finally...

Moving quickly behind Karen, Izual came to an abrupt halt when he sensed the barrier erected before them. It was nothing he couldn't handle, but it was warning enough that this temple was indeed gaurded by more than a few crossbows. Moving slightly forward until the barrier stood inches before his face, Izual raised a hand.

A thin wisp of shadow flowed forth from the upright palm, directly into the barrier. It responded immediately with a crackle of power, attempting to surge the source of this shadow. Izual would not allow it. The shadow begain spreading throughout the entire barrier until it finally faded with one last surge of power.

If Karen had been watching Izual and seen his magic trick, he would have ended up with the barrel of Karen's Remington in his face. Instead she had her back turned, looking over the edge, across the jungle, and could just barely see the glint of the wing of thier plane.

"Oh yes. Lets keep moving."

She walked a short ways in and turned on a powerful light. It's beam had a 5 inch diameter, allowing her a wonderful area to look at. The hall was dark, more stone pillars jutted from the walls, each covered in characters. She walked up to one and smiled.

"You were right, there is samauri heritage here. Which is to itself interesting, even though we have only penetrated a few meters inside, this is like no other samauri type temple or building I have seen before."

She pointed to a picture of a man dressed in traditional battle armour of the era. Her finger nail scratched the stone and she shined the light on it, a tiny fragment of red paint. Her eyes widened along with her smile.

"My God. If this is like the Egyptian temples, with everything painted. It would have been marvelous. There still might be more fragements of paint left on other figures."

Izual nodded as he attempted to appear interested in the paintings. That wasn't a concern of his. The only things important would be the inscriptions on the main chamber wall, and the blood stones.

"Do any of these indicate any traps?"

The angel motioned for D'tok to follow along quickly.

"So far no. Usually they are placed deep into the temples, near where the treasures are." Karen said. She walked down the stone hallway admiring the work.

"Why would some build a temple of this maginitude out on an island? A temple this size, with the size of the ships of the time, would have taken decades, who knows, maybe a century to finish."

They continued to walk till Karen stopped them. She walked over to one of two stone pillars which marked the end of the hall, the end of the sun's light into the temple, the begining of darkness inside the temple.

"Its a warning. 'They gave thier souls to hell, so that they could have hell in thier veins. Beware of their restless spirits.' Heard that one before."

The corridor ended, and they came upon a chamber cloaked in an unearthly darkness. Up, down, forward or back, no direction could be perceived. At their feet, something was etched in a combination of Infernal and the Japanese alphabets hiragana and kanji. Roughly translated, it read "I can find my way in the dark, can you?" As Karen swept the light around, it's powerful beam seemingly couldn't find the walls of the room, but it did illuminate something black and spiny. A howl reverberated through the chamber and the blur of black lept at them.

The island rushed forward as he danced across the waves. Dying wisps of smoke drifted out amongst the lush green.

Maybe their camp, he mused slightly adjusting his course away from it.

Softly landing on the white beach he settles in for the night. Muttering to himself, he begins making slow hand gestures, slowly circling his body. Finally, he stops as he feels a runny trickle flow across his body.

An aura of green and brown floats just over his skin. Examining his work he nods, and lies down for the night, pondering about the odd celestial and this temple.

The creeping dawn slowly pulled him from his slumber. Slowly he clamored to his feet. With a single smooth gesture, the illusion shattered, green and brown shards were blasted away before dissolving into mist.

Bushing of his robe he sets off towards the ruins. Painstakingly making his way through the dense foliage. Eventually he finds a path, hacked down by a blade. He encounters a pair of obelisks.

Reaching out his hand, he gropes the air between the pillars. “Resonance… there was energy here, some barrier, but its shattered and broken…” he muttered to no one.

And onward he went.

Izual didn't have any trouble seeing in the dark. It was part of who he was, a creature of the darkness. Being able to see everything, Izual quickly spotted the dark creature and cursed under his breath. He knew it wasn't a beast of this world.

A metallic ring filled the air as Izual's blade appeared within his grasp, the noise added to make Karen believe he had drawn it from a scabbard. As the howling creature leapt forward, Izual brought his blade cleaving down, tearing a large gash down the side of the beast.

Rashel knew she was near David; she did not have to see him to feel him out. She was not a creature of the night and it took some adjustment for her. Her own inner light raidiated and helped show the way and not direct any unwanted attention to them that was a perk of her being.

He murmured a small incantation, and both of them were enveloped in a tight whirl of dark energies. The energy would meld them into the surrounding darkness, hiding them from anyone who tried to detect them. Even if they were to try and touch them, David had moved them far enough into the phantasm realm, a sort of barrier between the material plane and the ether of death, that the hand would merely pass through them. She grabbed a flare, light it and plunged it into the eye of the beast. It jumped off, howling in pain. Karen got on her feet, flare in her left hand, her P99 in her right. Able to see perfectly, the angel eyed off with the creature as his blade came to a striking position. This one was a little more wary of him, it didn't matter though, it too would die like the others.

Izual aimed a finger at the creature and unleashed a quick burst of crimson light into the creature. The thin line cut the beast clean in half, straing down the middle. The two pieces hit the ground with a thud simultaneously.

Turning his attention to Karen, the screams quickly led him to her general direction. Within seconds she was within his view, two more beasts nearby. Lifting slightly off the ground to make a silent approach, Izual glided forward quickly and unleashed a mighty arc of his blade into the neck of the unsuspecting beast, completely severing the head.

Then in horror she watched as two mutuated wolfs came to almost attack her. I need to do something and quick.

Just as soon as the wolfs were there Izual had killed them. Yet, she still couldn't trust him, he probably only saved her because he needed her help. Although, Rashel did not know the dangers yet to come she could expect it to get worse and she would not like to see Karen, this human suffer.

She concentrated on this human and allowed her essence to get intertwined into Karen's mind.

~I will not harm you and do not plan to. I realize you main be hesitant with me that I can understand. Yet, know that I come from the light and God watches. Child, we do not want you do die, but we are giving you a choice because you are stuck in the middle.~

Again there was silence...

Karen wanted to go back to her father's mansion to be with her son, but now this, she began to have second thoughts on what Izual wanted with the bloodstones. She wanted to know who Izual really was, before she made her decision on what to do.

"Rashel, I'm going for those bloodstones. If they do what the inscription says, I've made the biggest mistake in my life."

The vampire twisted downwards, through the blackness once again and through a hidden passage, and Rashel suddenly felt the oppression of the strange chamber lifted. David's breath was on her shoulder blade, smooth and comforting.

The whisper came gently. "You can open your eyes now."

He hand his hands uneccessarily around her waist to support her, and he stared, enchanted, over her shoulder. Before her stretched an impossibly huge world, all crammed inside the temple. She had left the stairs and turned right, after several meters she ran into a wall. So she had headed the other way. She stared at the wall thinking of what to do. This has to be it.

Karen shined her light back down the corridor to make sure Izual wasn't trying to creep up on her. Nothing. "Now, what makes you think that my eyes were closed?" A little laugh came out and was engulfed by the room. The site was much similar to those she had seen in Lady Amanda's temple, but of course those were of light and this one held something quite sinister.

Her eyes wide as she searched the room. She, however, did not move away from David's side.

She closed her eyes and felt Karen. An angel can do this once she/he is let inside that species, or any that is searched out by an angel. She opened then and turned her head to the side. "Jyai, Karen that human is getting closer. She took a wrong turn, but still I am sure can find her way."

Silence once more.

Her eyes wide with anger. "He is blocking me because I cannot find him. Plus, from Karen's thoughts I am not sure she knows where he is. You must show me these bloodstones and I will dispose of them." She faced him now, twisting around and yet his hand remained on her waist.

"I will do anything to rid this earth from that kind of evil. If it means I must die, then so be it."

Their noses were practically touching, his breath mingled with hers.

He began in a passionate, nearly silent whisper. "There, below us, above us, all around, those are the bloodstones. The bloodstones aren't what he wants, though. He wants the power that the spirits in this temple hold. You are right though, the temple must be destroyed and the spirits banished. Maybe you can set off that imbalance we need by destroying the bloodstones. This is your purpose, your time to prove yourself to your Lord." His golden eyes reflected a deep, sorrowful pain, and a quiet longing for her. "Go."

Karen stood petrified in front of a wall carving. It described in pictures of what the power of the blood stones had and strange beast, Karen could only guess they were demons. Gotta get there. This is the only way.

She moved down another stair case. Several times she turned around. She thought she had heard footsteps. Izual? Nah. The guy is still probably bumping around in that chamber.

She laughed as she walked down the stairs and into another hall, heading deeper into the temple, hopefully to the bloodstones. Her laugh traveled down the narrow stone passages into every nook and crany of the temple. Karen suddenly stopped laughing. She felt her flesh crawl, coldness grasped her. Almost like a freezing draft. There was one problem, she didn't feel a draft or wind of any kind. Nothing Karen, temples this size should be cold deeper down. She turned around and shined her light down the hall, nothing. See Karen, nothing. No Izual, no demons, no evil spirits. Just your imagination.

"I hope." She said softly.

As soon as he had looked up, his eyes were assaulted by a flash of light from the darkened square at the end of the corridor.

“Gah!” cried Yisa as she tumbled off of her perch on his shoulder, uttering her first sound since Aeru had set down upon the island.

Aeru gritted his teeth, as the burst of energies blasting from the temple nearly knocked him over. He had no idea how powerful it could be to a creature like Yisa.

“Try to be quite,” he berated her.

Panting she muttered back, “You try taking the full force of that blast and not saying anything.” Aeru was quite after that.

With Yisa once again upon his shoulder he quietly as possible headed down the stone corridor, till finally the smell of charred flesh reached his nostrils and the light of the morning sun died behind him.

The eerier shadows cast by the still burning flare gave the temple an even more demonic look. Though he could not see anyone else there he felt them as they parted the air around them in subtle currents and eddies.

One, two, three he mused, good, they are all in here… just then he felt one of the three begin departing the seemingly massive cavern. Slowly and with great care he set off down the path it took.

OOC: Sorry for the wait everyone, it has been yet another hectic week.

Also, High Orcs. Similar concept to the Izual of Diablo, yet still different. This Izual was a human, turned demon, then robbed of his immortality, then turned angel in an attempt to save his life.

IC: Fury was building up within the angel as he took account of what was happening. Whilst he had been busy dispatching the dogs, Rashel had finally acted, turning Karen against him. No matter, he was in the temple now, he would find his own way.

Eyes flaring a deep crimson, Izual lifted into the air and began winding through the corridors at high speeds. He had to get into the main chamber before the angel and the filthy vampire ruined his plans. They would both pay for their attempts. The bloodstones were no longer important, since he wasn't going to be paying the vampire.

Extending his angelic senses, Izual found Karen winding her own way through the temple, heading towards the main chamber. He couldn't sense Rashel, but that was the price he paid for cloaking himself from her prying abilities. The vampire on the other hand, stood out perfectly. Now aware of where the chamber was, Izual's notorious hybrid blade arrived within his grasp, currently surrounded by a deep swirl of shadows. He didn't have time to navigate, it was time to show these inferior creatures what they were dealing with.

Raising the blade in the direction of the chamber, the glow within Izual's eyes intensified to the point of lighting the whole corridor. The diameter of the swirling darkness spread, easily growing to a length of five meters. Satisfied with the size, the angel stiffened his arm and released the swirling darkness directly into the wall, cutting cleaning through the solid stone of the temple. The was no noise to accompany the blast, just the odour of burnt air and a few ashes remained of that part in the wall.

A sly smile crossing his face, Izual glided forward, edging through the circular tunnel, towards the main chamber.

Karen walked down the hall. Nothing, it never seemd to end. Leaning against the wall with some ingravings, she drank some of her water before she continued. She didn't notice a block on the wall move inward. Last thing she saw was more hall before being sucked down. Karen slide down a ramp, feet first.

She let out a short scream as she slide down the passage, she had no idea where she was going. Then the passage opened, she saw something. Dear God. Rashel and David turned when they saw several meters down the chamber from where they where, Karen shooting out of the wall several meters in the air. Her back back caught on one of the oblilisks, tearing it open spilling her things on the ground.

Karen fell and hit her stomach against the hard floor. For several seconds she lay there until she slowly stood. Feeling something warm on her lips she wiped it with her hand, blood. She ignored the small amount of it coming from her nose as she gathered her things as best she could. Taking a flashlight, she shined it on one of the statues and then noticed the scarlet colored crystals.

"They do exist." Karen said softly. She didn't notice Rashel or David as she walked up to the statue and touched one of the crystals. "They really do exist."

"It is time."

Karen had arrived, which seemed great because Izual was so nearby, she could feel it in her bones. Maybe Karen and David could distract him, while she focused her energy on the demons and releasing thier spirits to be engulfed by the light.

Rashel walked to the centre of the room and stood very still. Her eyes were open, but not focused on anything in particular. She focus internally on light and pulled all of herself from interior to exterior.

There was no wind in the temple, but Rashel's hair flowed around her. Her eyes were the first to shed light. Then it poured out of her body and filled the entire room, so that there was no darkness to be found, not even a shadow.

"Shield your eyes, Karen." Rashel's voice shrill and loud. She was not worried about David, she knew he could make it. She just wanted to focus on saving Karen from being blind and not to have Izual see her either. Soon, not even David would be able to see her, all that could be seen was light, no figure of her.

Her voice cried out to God in her native tongue, chatting prayers. As her voice rose so did the light in the room.

There was a single massive obilisk that towered over all the others at the far end of the gigantic hall. As the light danced up to it's base, a piercing scream rang out from it. The light pranced up the sides of the obilisk, and all along it's length, the scarlet bloodstones shattered, and from each one a shade fled. They were pulled into Rashel's light by it's force, screaming in terror. Each one hit the blinding light hard, obliterating itself and finally freeing the samurai's spirits from their demonic hold. The obilisk creaked and began to fall, gouging a huge scar in the ornate ceiling.

David merely stood, watching Rashel wreak havoc on the dark forces of the temple. He felt Izual approaching the main hall, and he slowly turned around to face the tunnel that had been created by the demonic angel. One move against Rashel, and it would be all he needed to destroy Izual.

Karen was crouched behind a statue of a warrior. Her eyes where shut and her hands clapped shut around her ears. She didn't know what was happening around her. All she heard were crashing and shattering of bloodstones. I hope she hasn't destroyed any of the statues.

Karen remembered the vastness of the chamber and wondered if Rashel would finish what she was doing before Izual arrived.

Each time Rashel absorbed a dark energy, a demon, her inner light would dim. She would dim just slightly. All of thier anger, she felt and she gave them back hope and desire for a better place. She filled their once sorrowful thoughts with those of happiness.

Another came and this one fought harder than most. As if he didn't want to leave this wretched place he called home. She called out even louder, she was aware of the oblisk, but she needed more energy to suck him in. She knew where it was and David and Karen were out of harm. She still could not find Izual, but she knew he was close to where they were.

The oblisk would fall soon and she did not know if she had time to recover herself and get out of the way, but she pushed that thought out of her mind and focused on this one who would not come to the light.

Higher and higher her voice came, faster and faster, closer and closer he was drawn.

Finally, he was absorbed andher energy failed a moment. The light disappeared and she fell to her knees. She yelled to Karen in a scratchy voice, "Continue to keep your eyes closed please." She Karen might think it would be okay to open her eyes once the light dimmed before her closed eyelids, but Rashel was regenerating and quickly.

A burst of energy flew out of Rashel and planted itself in Izuals stomach. She felt herself go through him, but she remained where she was. Although, now David would be able to see her, the light still was there, but she could now be seen as a naked image of a woman, with light raidiating off of her. It was still Rashel, but a lot more foreign.

The light within Izual worked her way up to his heart. As it did so, he came closer and closer to Rashel. She would absorb him; those where the instructions given to her from above.

The oblisk slide closer and was moving an inch faster...

David felt a faint burst of something behind him. Desperation. The vampire had taken some of Rashel's essence, and had accidentally forged a bond between them. Each could feel the other's feelings, he realized. He glanced behind him, and saw Rashel's beautiful form under the overbearing shadow of the toppling obilisk. The gigant pillar of black stone freed itself from the gouge in the ceiling, and plummeted into a freefall towards the ground. If he were to push her out of the way, he would be sacrificing himself. There didn't seem to be any time for action.

Then the vampire felt something overtaking his mind. A shadow spread through his conciousness, and he felt darkness envelop him. His golden eyes squeezed shut, and opened again. They were replaced by brooding orbs of black fire. David fought against the demon trapped inside of him attempting to possess him again, for if he let it take over, then Rashel was going to die for certain. This worry left him as his conciousness was forced into the back of his mind, now only an observer.

David felt his hand reach around and withdraw the bloodstained katana strapped to his back. It wasn't his hand anymore, though. He felt totally helpless.

Then, he simply disappeared in a blur of speed.

David felt his feet touch cold stone again, but it wasn't the ground. He sensed he was clinging to the wall. He looked below him, and surely enough, he was on the wall. The vampire could see the obilisk still falling towards the angel, the angel he truely loved deep inside, and could only watch helplessly. He tried to force his eyes shut, but the accursed demon would not let them close.

'Wh...why?' He croaked to himself in his mind.

The answer from the demon was rapid. 'Watch.'

The obilisk fell still closer to Rashel, and David felt as though he were watching a slow motion action scene. A hairline crack – not a crack, a slice – appeared on the obilisk. The gap grew, and grew, and the stone pillar fell ruthlessly on. Finally, two giant hulks of the darkness-infused obilisk landed with a tremendous shudder, Rashel perfectly safe within the gap caused by his katana's swipe.

David could only manage a weak smile before the possessor left him to simmer within his soul again. He fell.

Izual roared in fury as he stepped into the chamber to be met by a beam of angelic power. His anger was demonstrated in the sudden rise of energy called to his being, his voice echoing around the chamber as walls began to shake. He wouldn't let her do this, this was not how it would turn out.

Wings spread outwards, Izual drew his glowing blade above the power connecting himself and Rashel. The bitch would pay for her meddling, they would all pay. Black lightning began to surge out of the infuriated angel, cutting through stone like it was paper. Heaving with anger, Izual drew the blade's tip high above the beam, shadows now completely engulfing the shiny steel.

Another furious scream commenced the downward plunge of the blade, burrying it straight through the energy and cutting it off from his body. The white light around the blade gew duller until it formed blackness of an abyss never witnessed by mortals. The angel may not have been as strong with his demonic powers, but he had spent enough time in the demon world of Arithon to be able to draw upon its strength. Another surge of energy and the darkness grew, engulfing the white light into itself. Rashel thought she would absorb Izual into the light, she had no idea just how difficult that would be.

"You think to destroy me? Is this how the light repays over one thousand years of service to its finest angelic warrior? To the one that put down legions of demon kind whilst it was too concerned with the happenings of mere mortals! I am no longer of your order or your rules, you have no right to intervene!"

The angel's voice was deep with rage, easily heard throughout the entire chamber. The pure anger eminating from Izual was enourmous, the passion acted as a becon to the remaining demonic spirits of the temple. He was like them, part demonic and he possessed the utter spite...

Karen opened her eyes, nothing happened. She turned to see Izual, she just managed to hold back her scream. She had to do something, anything. Her hand felt something, a smile grew across her face.

She knew she had to do something first, before she helped out with dealing with Izual. Taking a windbreaker from her back she cut stripes from it and cut some small slits on each side of the hole in her bag. Sticking the stripes through the slits she pulled them tight and tied them off, the hole was no more. She began to work her way to Izual, grabbing every bloodstone she could get and put it in her bag.

Karen put on her backpack, now almost full with bloodstones and aimed the weapon she held at the demon. The blubous barrel of flare gun went over Izual's back. She pulled back the hammer and adjusted her aim. She fired.

Izual didn't even flinch as the flare burried deep into his shoulder, the red light illuminating his wounded body. Turning his crimson gaze upon Karen, Izual snarled.

"You have made your last mistake human..."

Still holding the blade with his left hand, Izual pointed a right index finger at the female human. The clawed hand began to shake with a freocity unseen by any human before. A hopeless wail filled the room as the group were joined by spirits from the underworld, their pain reflected within their wail. Satisfied with their presence, Izual unleashed a thin, erie green beam directly into Karen's head.

Physically she felt nothing, but the tortured souls had noticed the beam, a becon to them. Withou heasitation the spirits raced along the beam and into the unprotected mind of Karen to share their pain and suffering with the unsuspecting human.

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" She screamed.

She had to do something about it, the only way it seemed was to try and hit Izual again with another flare. Izual grinned as Karen collasped to the floor, only to have the grin disapper as she struggled to get a fresh flare into the gun. The barrel clicked shut as she tried to aim it at Izual.

"GET THEM OUT YOU SON OF A B*TCH!"

She fired again, hoping the flare found it's mark.

Watching as the flare raced towards his head, Izual opened his mouth and unleashed another demonic roar. The air seemed to shimmer around the flare until it burst into flames, quickly falling to pieces before it reached its intended target.

"YOU, cannot stop me human. You shall suffer for your intervention."

As the near blinding light subsided Aeru watched in frozen horror the battle before him. The demonic angel’s roar shook the stone in the hall were he watched, whipping his robes as if in a wind. Standing in stark silence as the woman fell in screaming pain.

He knew he needed to act, and quickly less this bastard creature of light and dark gain strength from the temple. Looking briefly into the black beady eyes of Yisa for consent she nods and he prepares to follow in the path of the collapsed woman.

Steeling himself against the nightmare before him he begins to rotate his hands around a nonexistent sphere. Slowly at first but then with greater speed his hands move, a small whirl of dust is visible in the light within the sphere. He continues to gesture as an almost gray hue begins to form within the orb, swirling, chaotic. Bits and pieces of stone begin to be sucked towards it, adding an earthy quality to the stormy mixture.

OOC: Sorry, I was gone for the weekend and I worked the remainder. I have no intention on killing anyone. I trust that it goes both ways. Hmm...always got to be the hero...heehee...

IC: Rashel took notice of her surroundings. Even though the obilisk had split infront of her she still could see, she saw right through it.

She felt David, in ways she couldn't understand, but it felt right to her. He had saved her and she was thankful. Her light was beginning to dim because Izual was doing the same, he was trying to suck her in. She knew if this happened she would not die, but be a victum just like him. She would not allow this, she would not be one of the devil's workers.

"I was not sent here to destroy you. Have you forgotten already, God did not forget you or betray you. I was sent here to help you."

She let out a cry as Izual attacked Karen. She felt the horror in her own head. She would deal, but Karen was so close to the edge, she could go either way.

Rashel made up her mind, even if it meant losing control over the spirits in the room, she would save Karen. She held onto Karen's last thoughts of her son, Ian. She pulled Karen's essence and body to where her son was. She remained unconscious, but Ian would help her out of that.

Doing this her light completely dimmed and she fell to her knees. She took most of her energy to move the split obilisks out of her way. She would deal with Izual now, even if her power was down to the mere minimal. She remained on her knees, her eyes toward the onlooking sky. She grabbed her katana in the shape of a cross and slammed it down into the cold ground. Where her katana hit the ground millions of cracks ran from it and throughout the room they were in. She took the power, although it be evil, into herself. She would fight fire with fire, just praying it would not control her.

Her eyes met Izual's, they glowed with the black fire of the spirits in the temple, the ones she had absorbed. She stood up. She looked back to where David was. A smile, one known to be of Rashel's beamed to him, but her eyes told a different story.

She stood still, standing her own ground and those who had been used and abused by the demons. This was not for her, but for them and she would see to it that it would be the end.

It was a struggle, but she said a prayer. Dear God let me keep my sanity.

David's body jerked with an unseen current and was propped up, as if by a puppeteer. The demon wouldn't let him pass out and leave Rashel to face Izual alone, it appeared. Opposites really do attract, it seemed. There was a twisted, sadistic smile on the vampire's face. He had finally caught his prey. The feeling returned to his bones, and he had control again. His feet began to shuffle towards the demonic angel, each stride becoming firmer and resolute. His right arm felt as though someone had wrenched it all the way around it's socket, and he glanced over at it. Indeed, it looked as though someone had. A single sickening pop, and it felt natural again. Pearly white bone jutted out of his left leg, and black blood dribbled down his armor. There was a series of disturbing crunches, and his leg could move again.

His hand drew the katana from his back, and he stared at the bloodstained blade. The Spitestalker had made it's inexorable judgement.

Golden eyes glared at Izual. "It appears – my friend Izual – that you have taken one step towards the darkness too many." The Spitestalker screamed in agreement. His eyes reflected a sort of sick playfulness. "You didn't even pay me for leading you here. Boy does that get my tickles in a racket."

"I don't pay those that trail me in an attempt to hinder my plans. I think you should stop worrying about me and concern yourself with the mental health of your angelic friend. In case you didn't notice, she just absorbed almost all of the demonic spirits into herself. I'm sure she's going through a hell of a battle at this moment."

The angel kept another eye on Rashel, attempting to see if she was still herself. The beam between the angels had faded and Izual didn't bother pressing the attack. With Karen gone and Rashel occupied, Izual figured he should take what he came for.

Withdrawing his blade from the stone floor, Izual slowly strode to a wall on the far right of the hall, the stone littered with enscriptions few could read. Knowing the language well, Izual smiled as he began reading the texts, gaining the understanding of the enchanted knowledge...

"Mom, mom, where did you come from?" He asked. Karen instead of answering embraced him, tears streaming down her face.

"Oh God Ian, I missed you. You don't know how much I wanted to be with you." She said. Her face was soon wet with tears as she looked into his face. "Where's my pack?"

"Here mom." Ian missed her too, but he fully didn't understand what had happened to her. He handed her the pack and she gasped. "What is it?"

"The bloodstones, they're still here." She said. "Wait, I was at the temple, Rashel, Izual...."

"Mom, what is it? Are those actual bloodstones?" He asked.

"Yes Ian. I need to tell you something." A half hour later Karen finished telling him what had happened. "We need to destory these, just in case."

"Yes, but we have to figure out how to perminatly destroy these."

"Do not try me vampire. You meddle with forces beyond your comprehension, just as you said, you cannot influence this."

The angel stepped to the side, a ring of flame bursting into life around him, reaching towards the roof in an attempt to completely shield Izual.

"Vampires are such pitiful creatures, the most basic things such as fire present such a huge threat to their so called immortality."

Izual began softly whispering the words upon the wall, an eerie green glow emerging from certain letters. Nothing would stop Izual from invoking the spirit of this temple and gaining the demonic knowledge.

((Agreed, we need to take the fight out of the temple eventually.))

"Even the weakest creatures can transcend themselves. Don't tell me you've forgotten such a basic rule." He said, reaching the perimeter of the fire wall.

David slowly put his hand through the flame. The ivory skin blackened and peeled, and then appeared on the other side. The whiteness began to return to the scorched flesh, and the skin reattached itself. The rest of the vampire's body followed. He casually walked towards Izual, a thin trail of ash following his movements from still singed flesh. The scarlet scarf entwined around his lower face looked as though it had never touched the fire, for the demon that inhabited it had infused his own powers of brimstone into it.

"Ilkai kamasein holo." He whispered, and the Spitestalker tore along the length of the wall, sending cracks tinged with an unearthly crimson light over the wall, ruining the fragile Infernal characters inscribed into it.

Rashel shot daggers with her eyes at Izual, she walked toward him, but without motivation. "Why worry about me? You haven't before. I can handle myself."

Her voice grew deeper and twisted, twisted to sound as multiple voices instead of one. "I harvest those of the dark, but use them for the light. You should be the one who is worried because now I have more power than before and can still benefit from it all."

By this time she was next to David, her voice became her own once more, "Jyai this is my battle. My sweat and blood will shed, not yours."

She patted him softly on the shoulder. One moment sweet and gentle and the next she pushed him a bit backwards, not to lose his balance though.

Her demented voice returned. "David," the words spit out of her mouth, "this is our plaything, step back and you won't be our next."

Izual sighed, this one was more than a mere vampire. Looking over at David, Izual snarled.

"I don't care what you think you are able to do. The plain truth is that don't have the capicity to defeat me. I hold no hostilities towards you unless you attempt to intervene with my plans, then you will face a wrath unlike any other witnessed on this earth before."

Turning back to the wall, Izual placed his shadowed hand onto a glowing ruin, resulting in a surge of backlash shaking the wall, signifying the awakening of the temple's true essence, drawing on the site itself and not the miserable human souls trapped within. A twisted smile crossed his lips as the dark angel spun around to meet Rashel.

"All you angels of the light, you think you understand demonics so well. You think it is that simple, that you can simply extinguish the darkness with your light. You are so wrong. Why do you think I was the most successful demon hunter your light has ever seen?! Why do you think I killed more demons than most of you had ever seen in your lives? I was a demon, I understand how they and their magiks work! I understand how the light works, these are two opposing forces, opposites. You may absorb an opposite force, but it shall never be completely part of you, its true power shall be withdraw from you for it cannot exist with your light."

Izual paused as the glow around him intensified, the temple rumbling grew more violent.

"I am a being that is physically half demon and angel, I alone have the ability to control the full forces of both sides without them hindering eachother. You can only grasp at the edges of demonics due to your overwhelming light. Don't you understand what I'm trying to do?"

The angelic/demonic blade floated before Izual once again, each half of the blade illuminating the hall with their respective energies.

An intolerable wail filled the room... it had begun.

David's hand lashed out to cling onto Rashel's wrist.

"I'm afraid this concerns me more than you assume." He told her, and held his hand out to his own sword.

The Spitestalker warped through the air to rest in his hand. The vampire held it perfectly upright with both hands, as if in prayer, and a beam of light erupted from it, connecting the shuddering temple floor to ceiling.

"Khaotika reign." He whispered, and his words flitted about like loose feathers. "Absurdita justika fufill. Khani wa kano desu, Satika sadistik. Pure Kirin Satanika so desu. Eternika."

The temple shuddered far more violently, but in counter to Izual's efforts. David was turning the temple itself against the demonic angel. A wicked fissure ripped through the ceiling and the floor, seperating the darkness and the light that Izual's sword cast.

"Light and dark. They must coexist, and yet, they can never coexist by nature. An interesting paradox. Have you ever wondered what keeps them in check? What keeps them fighting and yet keeps them in a deadlock? There is no black and white, my friend, there is another axis all together. I am the watcher of one side of this force, I hold all the power of Juztika Korrupt in my hand. You have no idea how subdued I have kept myself. All I need is a reason to let it lose. You are that reason."

It didn't matter what they did now. The temple could be destroyed now that the true essence had been awakened. The spirit of an ancient demon lord, older than Lord Arithon himself. Perhaps not as strong in his wraith-like state, but that wasn't important. Knowledge was important.

Izual didn't even flinch as two massive bricks blasted out of the wall by his head, colliding with statues and other objects within the room. The demon lord was awake, and soon he would be ready to pass his knowledge onto Izual, nothing could stop that.

Turning upon David once again, Izual was calmer, knowing that he would get what he wanted.

"You say your task is to keep one side in check, to keep the balance? Tell me, where has the balance been broken? If anything, I am restoring the balance within myself. You contradict yourself. I have no wish to battle anyway, just to be left to my own devices. Since you two seem to intervene, you may learn to regret such."

Another wail filled the wall, contributing to the destruction of the temple. David's attempts would be a hindrance if the temple was the important piece of the puzzle, yet it was not.

The demon lord would soon be fully awake...

Rashel could feel it in her bones and they ached. Her eyes widened as the temple also began to widen. She was not scared, she was trained not to be.

She piped in, "The balance is broke and as much as you think I am just meddling, Jyai is right. I know and understand that their needs to be a balance. There is always an opposite of God, otherwise there would not be one. Plus, I would not be here, if there were not creatures like you. Yet, the balance is being broken and I think you do not understand the consequences. Have you not had contact with your surperiorpower? Having waken the demon lord the whole world will cease to exist, meaning you won't either." A smile broke through her frown, "I guess that might grant Jyai's wish." Then she was silent.

The temple began to crumble before their eyes. "I don't know about you, but I am going outside." She flew up, magnificant wings pushing her upward. She grabbed David before he could struggle against her. Moments later they were outside the temple, awaiting Izual.

Izual frowned at Rashel. He didn't have a higher force to look up to. He worked for neither Heaven or Hell, merely himself. Not quite sure what the female angel was on about, Izual remained silent and allowed her to leave with the vampire.

The demon lord was awake and the world would not cease to exist. Several demon lords already existed, Lord Arithon himself being in this world whilst Lord Nez'gah reigned over the underworld. It didn't matter, Izual had finally won.

As the temple crumbled around him, Izual could feel the connection being established. The demon lord of the temple had found its summoner and was ready to follow the rune structures and pass on him demonic abilities. The angel smiled as he felt the process beginning, the dark energy flowing into his essence, filling the void of his ignorance.

All seemed to be going well until Izual noticed something odd. The essence of the demon lord had eroded away, it was no longer embedded within the temple. Throughout the transfer of knowledge, the demon lord had covertly placed a fragment of himself within the flow of energy, resulting in him being almost entirely within Izual's body.

The angel rushed to raise his defences, but the demon lord combatted his efforts, stalling long enough for him to be entirely within the fallen angel.

"You will prove an interesting host.... Izual. I have never encountered one such as yourself. No matter, you wish to learn about demonics, I'll show you. Of course there is a price... your body will be mine, yet I shall allow you to remain, as a witness to my powers."

The angel was becoming more stressed. He though time had eroded away the power of this demon lord, yet his strength was beyond measure, even after all this time. Izual began to panic, he didn't know what he could do, the demon lord had full control of his body. He would have to work something out...

"I see. Perhaps we can come to some sort of agreement here. You may possess my body, but you have no chance of controlling the light half of my abilities."

"We shall see angel, perhaps you can cooperate."

Izual had no intention of allowing this demon lord to keep his body, but he must have time to watch and learn from this being, so that he may kill it.

"Now then, it is time that the world of mortals felt my wrath once again..."

In an intense outburst of demonic power, the temple exploded, sending huge stone blocks flying in every direction. The utter force of the blast was extreme, forcing all those nearby a huge distance off. The demon lord had only just begun. Izual's body sprung into the air, his massive wings beating as he left the temple ruins and began a casual glide towards the nearest city.

((Hmm, what a coincidence, the nearest city is my nation! This is going to be fun indeed.))

An X-band RADAR operator jumped as something flushed his screen in brilliant color.

His voice wavered as he spoke. "Er...sir? Something just exploded underground. It was huge, I tell you. Not anything of ours, I'm sure..."

The senior operator stared at him blankly before leaping into action. "Well, Fukoru, go get a messenger! This needs to be heard about now!"

The news travelled up the line, and all of the nation's defenses were put on high alert. Rumors flooded the streets in a torrent. Were they under attack? Had an experiment gone wrong?

They didn't know how bad it really was...

---

David stared at the temple as it erupted with Izual's new found power, before he realized something.

"I...I failed." He whispered to himself, even as the words were mercilessly destroyed by the force of a chunk of ages-old rock blasted past the two. "I have lost the Spitestalker, and hence I have lost my purpose...my counterpart will be here soon to finish what I could not. I doubt the demon can withstand an entire half of the world's combined energies, the Khaotika Pure, but then what will happen between him and myself...? And what will happen to you?"

He stared up into Rashel's writhing eyes, and felt sympathetic. She was only feeling a taste of what he had to yield to every day. He placed a hand to her cheek, pure and fair, and absorbed as many of the shades as he could into himself. The demon that simmered within his soul easily consumed them and feasted on their combined power.

She closed her eyes under his touch. She felt what he felt and she could not repeat the horror. One of the light does not see all this pain and torture. They only experience the evil they banish.

"Your purpose is not lost. It is just not seen yet by thy eyes. I will remain here all the time. Till the end of the earth shall come."

She smiled at him. "What is mine, is now yours." She placed his hand over her left breast, over her beating heart.

IC: The demon lord within Izual took slight notive of the angel and her companion as he flowed through the air, towards a large concentration of humans. The world had changed substantially since he was here, but it was still mortal.

As the angelic form soared through the sky, the demon lord began testing his now physical abilities. Black lightning began surging around the figure, filling the air with the stench of ozone.

"Hmmm, your weaker side happens to be your stronger."

"Hence this situation. Why do you think I wanted your demonic knowledge?"

"Aye. You shall learn much from me. Watch as I destroy these pathetic mortals and devour their souls. You are a strong one, but you still have no idea of the true power you could possess."

"I see..."

Izual continued to fly, drawing closer to the vulnerable mortals.

Izual finally arrived at the city. The buzz of the unsuspecting humans going about their daily lives filled the air. Even wish such power, the demon lord was amazed at this new world. This... technology. He had never expected these mere mortals could create such devices and structures. It did not matter though, he would destroy it all.

Suspended above the city heights, the demon lord forced a sickening grin onto Izual's face, displaying his utter joy at finding so many mortals in the one place for him to kill.

Raising armoured arms into the air, the demon lord called upon two huge orbs of crackling dark energy. Each orb was thick with a black shadow-like substance whilst purple lightning hummed upon the outside of the spheres. With a sweep of his arms, the orbs rocketed towards the nearest building and plunged through the roof.

Screams erupted not long after the orbs tore through the building, leaving fire and destruction in their paths. For several more minutes, the demon lord directed the spheres in their paths of obliteration throughout the city.

The sickening smile returned once again as smoke and screams of horror filled the air.
_________

Izual patiently remained silent. He had gathered that his demon lord was old, very old. And not too bright either. This would obviously work towards his escape. Izual though differenlt to this ancient demon, he used his power more creatively, even if it was less power.

Izual's cold laughter finally joined in with the manical wail of the demon lord, but for very different reasons.

Takano Urimeshi carried his groceries towards the nearest magtrain station. The magtrains were trains suspended by electromagnets that practically flew through giant tubes several kilometers above the ground, interconnecting the thousands of superscrapers that towered above the mountainous island. The young man hummed to himself as he walked, until an eerie buzzing joined it. He stopped and looked around him curiously.

A blisteringly hot black blur sliced just ahead of him, neatly taking a chunk out of the elevator that lead up to the magtrain. The tower creaked once, like a sinking ship, and began to topple carelessly to the ground. As the shadow of the monstrous tower decended upon him, all Takano could think about was how he forgot to buy milk.

Commander Hirashi stared at the havoc the being in the sky was raining down on New Sapporo. He stared around at the mobile anti-air batteries around him, and chuckled mirthlessly.

"Let's see how that thing likes a healthy dose of high explosives! Fire at will!" He shouted from his tank's commander's cupola.

Several hundred heatseeking rockets lept from the truck-mounted launchers and instantly located the intense heat Izual was giving off. They rapidly pivoted in the air towards the possessed angel.

The manical laughter of the demon lord ceased when he noticed the metallic cloud of objects racing towards him. He had no idea what they were or what their purpose was, but obviously it was not to his benefit.

"What are those flying tubes?"

"Those would be rockets. I suggest you don't let them hit us, unless you wish to have this newly aquired body incinerated."

"Bah, you lie. Humans are unable of causing such destruction."

"That may be so, but they are more than able at creating something that can."

The demon lord kept Izual's body completely still as he watced the incoming rockets, seemingly testing their will to keep on attacking. As it seemed the rockets would finally strike their target, Izual's arm shot up.

A massive wave of shadow exploded forth, completely engulfing the possessed angel. The rockets continued upon their path until finally reaching the lightless barrier, causing all momentum to dissipate. Each rocket was suspended within the shadow, unable to move. A sly smile crossed Izual's face as he grunted, forcing the shadow barrier to quickly expand. Within seconds the rockets had been forced away from the angel and were now plummeting back towards the city...

((Well, Amanda, where do you want to go with that idea?))

One of the truck drivers stuck his head out the window.

"I didn't hear a bang, sir, did you hear a bang?" He asked the Commander.

Commander Hirashi was too captivated with the falling objects to answer. True, he hadn't heard a bang, or seen the requisite flash of a rocket bombardment. What were those black specks plummetting back to the ground...?

His eyes suddenly widened. "He's reflected the missiles! Retreat!"

A driver and his gunner laughed heartily. "Reflected them? Commander, you must have gone out of your mind. Those babies are –"

He was cut off as one of the rockets landed right at his feet, the engine still fizzling. The rockets were not contact rockets, but rather proximity rockets. Once they closed in on their programmed target, they would explode. Currently, since they were on the ground, they wouldn't explode from the proximity fuze. However, like most rockets, if the engine ran down the time fuze would activate...

The driver barely had time to scream before the high explosives detonated, tearing his truck in half and flinging the cab clear across the street to slam into the unfeeling concrete wall of a superscraper. Nearby, the other dispersed rockets began to explode, speckling the cityscape with tiny crimson suns. The designers of New Sapporo had learned from the past, and the overall structure of the city was strongly reminicent of a sprawling bunker. There were few serious casualties among the civilians, as most had wizened up and taken refuge with the closest source of shelter. Luckly, none of the massive buildings collapsed this time.

The rocket trucks retreated while a small group of urban tanks covered them, firing their laser ring gyro stabilized cannon and automated machine guns as they darted in and out of cover.

The demon lord wailed with laughter as he descended towards the city. Even with their technology and weapons, the humans could do little to stop his reign of destruction. Once the world of humans was conquered, he would move into the demonic realm and take the throne he held so long ago.

"You truly mean to take the seat of power once again? I hope you realise you have more than one demon lord to get through, and an entire army of over a billion demon kind. I don't like your chances."

"They have yet to witness my strength. Before I've even truly started with them, they will beg to serve me."

Izual couldn't help but laugh.

"Perhaps you should take into account their strength..."

"You shall see in due time angel..."

Looking down at the humans, the demon lord raised his hands to the sky and called forth darkness. Clouds of utter black spread across the sky, blocking out the sun for miles and enveloping the world in a chilling lack of light.

Not paying close attention, one of the gyro lasers collided with Izual's left shoulder, pressing right through the thick hide and muscle. Screaming in a mixture of pain and fury, the demon lord pointed towards the responsible tank and watched as ten seperate arcs of purple lightning ripped out of the dark clouds and struck the tank. Obliterating it entirely.

"I told you not to underestimate them..."

"Quiet! They shall pay for injuring my new body!"

((Just a quick clarification, it wasn't the laser ring gyro that hit you. LRGs are mechanisms that keep the gun from wobbling while the chassis is moving. No biggie.))

Commander Hirashi stared around at the blackened sky. "What the fuck is that?! Get the AODs on the horn!"

On a mountain some distance off, an automated turret activated. The turret housed four heavy coilguns and was protected by mecroxite-titanium plating and a double layer of kinetic shielding. All of this firepower was usually geared against orbital or suborbital opponents, and it would be all the more devestating at this relatively close range. The gun housing swivelled towards Izual, and fired a full hypersonic volley of four 250mm solid slugs, each within a half-second of the others.

Snatching up the coin, he shifted into his travelling form, summoned a disk of shadow, and set off.

As he neared the area of the continuing power surges, K-T slowed the disk and returned to his usual form. Gliding above the waves into the area of the shadow, he finally saw the cause of the commotion. The form of an angel hovered above the damaged city, dark power seething around it. The only times Kazar had seen power like this in the last thousand years, it had been wielded by Demonic Lords. However, he did not remember encountering this demon before.
It's not Nez'gah or Arithon; I would surely have recognized either of them well before coming within sight. The question is, is it ally or rival to them?
Shadowfang's voice sounded within his mind:
-If the latter, shall we fight it?-
-Yes.- Kazar replied.

OOC: Ah, righto. :headbang: Good to have you with us KT.

IC: Too furious at the creatures on the ground to notice the nearby turret, the demon lord wasn't even aware of the massive slugs racing towards him. Casting his hands downwards to strike at several more tanks, Izual suddenly began plunging toward the ground. The only that registered was pain and moving at high speeds until it finally stopped with a thump.

Within a few groggy seconds, Izual was on his feet once again, although not entirely stable. A massive whole now existed in his left wing, the angelic one. It had been the only slug to hit him, yet the damage had been enough. He wouldn't be using that wing for a while, not until he had the time to heal it. Whilst Izual remained calm throughout his new headache, stinging wing and the large force of armed humans painting him, the demon lord was furious.

"What was that!? Whoever is responsible for that hole in my wing will pay with their life!"

"Heh, you truly have no idea. That hole in my wing was ordered by one around here. You see, they are all focusing on us, destroying us. I'm sure they've got more than that waiting for us. You know, I could heal that wing a lot faster if you give me control of it, that isn't asking too much isn't it?"

"Alright, but any tricks and you'll feel my wrath once these humans are dead."

"Point taken, you won't have any trouble from me."

Izual felt the restraint loosen and immediately allowed a flow of light power to course through the wing, mending bone and sinew. He didn't attempt anything, his intent involved establishing a mutual trust between the him and the demon lord. The wing continued to mend and would be complete in a few minutes.

Glaring at the humans, the demon lord raised an arms and hissed at the humans in a tongue they couldn't understand before releasing a wave of intense fire towards them, fire that couldn't be quenched. The ring expanded quickly and ferociously, growing onto anything it came into contact with.

IC: Why is he so stubborn? His hand hovered, but did not make contact with her skin. She glared, "You know this is for the good. Who knows what destruction he has done already. Do it quick, so I can recover quick."

Her eyes pleading. "Once, I have finished, welll, become unconscious you must leave do not bother with me. Besides I will vanish before your eyes and I would not like to see you when that happens. I will be unconscious in a physical sense, but completely aware in others. No time to explain."

She hugged him and grabbed his bare wrists with her hands. She held on tight so he wouldn't struggle. Her grip slowly was declining in its intensity. This is not going quick enough. I need to do something that will give him my energy at a faster rate.

Within a moments thought she turned her head up and kissed his lips. The embrace was not romantic, it certainly wasn't meant to be at that time. Just a soft kiss that extended all of her energy to him. Her knees started to buckle under her weight. She asked David to hold her up till it was finished. She vagely felt his hands hold her elbows. Seconds later to rested her head on his shoulder, her body relaxed and moldable.

"I will never forget you."

David held her limp form gently, and tenderly brushed a little of her gorgeous hair out of her face. Something blossomed into a fireball behind him, and he dropped her rapidly vanishing form to the sea below.

Her body was gone before she ever hit the water, and a single of David's perfect tears plopped into the sea in her place, making a tiny ripple which quickly vanished as well.

It was though she never existed.

And yet she did, within David. The vampire let out a primal roar, and the demon enveloped his body. The scarlet scarf became a shadow that dimmed the light around it, trailing after him like an unwanted lover. The infernal blades slid out of his wrists in the place of the Spitestalker, but they now cast a wave of celestial light after them.

David charged at Izual, a mixture of light and dark energies following him, stirred in with his own hatred, cynicism and corruption.

He screamed, a banshee's howl that formed itself into words. "Obliteria Kakonika!"

The concrete, earth and rubble beneath Izual and the very air around him suddenly was enveloped in brimstone as reality warped around the possessed angel. And in an instant, the very fabric of space around him ceased to exist.

Before the demon lord could unleash his wrath upon the irritating humans, he was suddenly enveloped in an absolute abyss. Complete and utter nothingness surrounded the Izual's body as he merely floated there, completely shut off from the real world.

Izual couldn't help but find the situation amusing.

"It seems some little vampire has got you beat already. Whatever will you do now?"

"Silence! I have being trapped within the temple for too long, I will not be imprisoned by this pathetic excuse for a trap."

A crimson aura began grow from within Izual, extending into the abyss around him. As the minutes passed by, the glow illuminated the entire area. If there had been air within the abyss it would be crackling, yet light was the only thing of substance within such a place. With a final roar, the light raced forth and breached the darkness, flowing back into reality with a mighty blast of energy.

Izual turned to David, his expression furious.

"You will pay dearly for interfering vampire!"

On the other hand, Izual's message was far more meaningful.

"Hmm, nice to see you're persistant. Listen, this guy is an ancient demon lord and right now he is sitting atop a stockpile of demonic energy, watch yourself with him. He can't use my light abilities so do what you can with such. I'll see what I can do from in here."

David cackled like a madman. The time the demon was trapped in the abyss had earned him a few precious seconds to revel in Rashel's power.

"You cannot grasp the extent of the light." The vampire's voice was mimicked by two other unseen voices, his own possessor's sharp Infernal translation and Rashel's melodious Angelic. "But I, I can combine the two, for I am Guardian."

His hand was afire with holy light, and David pointed his hand towards the demon lord. The holy fire lanced out, sending brilliant, blinding light cascading over the city and vaporizing the concrete around him.

Izual watched quietly as the holy energy sizzled towards his possessed body. He knew the demon lord wouldn't be able to tolerate contact with such energies. The physical effect would be minimal due to Izual's physiology, yet the essence of the demon lord was not protected.

The demon lord merely took in a breath and exhaled a wave of overwhelming shadow towards the light power. The darkness spread out and surrounded the light, quickly engulfing the energy into itself. Within seconds there was nothing.

"Fool, do you really think you can stop me? I am far beyond your feeble existence, you have no hope!"

"Says the demon lord that just had a hole blasted through his wing by mere humans."

"Silence angel! I must slaughter this one, this vampiric angel."

Arms raised in summoning, the demon lord watched as a ring of fire sprung to life around David, no higher than his ankles. With a sudden surge of power, the flame lept up until they easily reached fifty meters into the air, completely surrounding David. The flames cackled and closed in, yet there was nothing for it to burn, save David.

"It is time for you to taste the fires of the underworld..."
