Today Russian Forces fires cruise missiles upon the capital of Automagfreek. The Aim - To kill Damien Dreadfire and his politicians. The Atlantic Russian naval fleet fired 30 cruise missiles towards the city. Putin plans not to hit civilians but to target the evil regime of Automagfreek.

NEWS: Pacific Naval fleet is joining up wih Atlantic fleet for the time being. Indian Ocean fleet is moving in too.

As the missiles came up on the radar screen, AMF defense grids went green, activating all of it's Metal Storms across the country. Once within range, the Storms threw up a wall of lead, but unfortunatly a few slipped through. A few missiles landed on the mountains surrounding ULE City and a few splashed down in the rivers. One missile landed in a car dealership parking lot, another landed ontop of a school. Thirteen 7th grade children died, and 2 teachers are in critical condition. Across the nation, military units have been activated and airspace has been secured by AMF air force. Sentinels stand ready across the country.

We support this move by Russian Forces, however we will not be taking part in any war.

The Federal Republic has officially stated it's nuetrality, and will continue trade with both nations, however no statement has been made concerning the Republic's stance on Russian Forces sudden cruise missile attack, nor about the targets it hit. Candidly the Senate has denounced the act, and several Senators wish to put trade restrictions on RF (Not that we have any that will seriously damage either economy) however due to lack of information on events leading up to this point, no statement has been made yet pending further investigation. But in the back rooms of the Senate, rumor flows and the opinion seems to currently favor a support of Automagfreek, however again there is no official stance yet.

OOC: You know nothing of the layout of my country. ULE City is in the valley of a chain of surrounding mountains and rivers that is in the center of the island. Awhile back we purchased 250,000 Metal Storm systems from Walten and placed them around the country. Also, ULE City is mostly a civilians city, so sending in cruise missiles would inevitably hit civilians.

The Federal Senate, after many hours of vigorous debate interrupted by the hourly update on the situation, has finally begun to move towards action. A slightly slanted state of nuetrality has mostly been decided upon, with the debate split between pro-AMF groups and pro-nuetrality groups. However it has been agreed that at least some form of aid, even if somewhat token is to be sent to AMF.

To this end the Diplomatic Corps has sent a message to the nation of AMF that any and all merchant ships they may have that are on the high seas that may be cutoff from returning home, can find a safe haven in any of the abundant overseas or mainland ports controlled by the Federal Republic and Federal Navy. Any warships in a similar situation will be granted asylum as well, however they must not fire their weapons within the defensive perimeter of any of the ports and Naval bases open to them. Any attack on AMF ships that seek refuge will be treated as an act of war.

The Larkinian Parliament held a late-night session to discuss the sudden war between AMF and Russian Forces. After a contentious meeting, where all sides' views were aired, the Parliament and President Katana issued the following statement.

We ask both sides in this conflict to stand down and possibly attend peace talks to defuse this quickly escalating situation. We are willing to hold such peace talks in Larkinia if both parties are inclined to talk.

If, as many believe, the die has already been cast, we must denounce the assault on AMF by Russian Forces. The additional targeting of innocents, whether intentional or not, is of great concern to the international community, and must be avoided. To that end, we would like to offer humanitarian aid for those citizens of AMF who have already been injured or otherwise affected by the attack, and offer temporary asylum for those who request it.

We of Sketch find this new development to be very distressing indeed. The fact that anyone would support an openly hostile nation which attacked for no reason whatsoever, is beyond our omprehension. We condemn the actions of Russian Forces, and strongly recommend that they cease all hostile actions before they are crushed by Damien.

We find it quite interesting that Russian Forces would summon up such a force and send it into battle without first running the standard "training" exercises that they are so fond of. Could this mean that this was an impromptu decision by that fool, Putin? Nonetheless, with a military force that size in action away from the homeland, Russian Forces looks quite ripe for the picking. Perhaps someone will do the world a favor and eliminate this bloated communist state.

Although the ANL and RF have had an long lasting relationship, I must declare our neutrality in this conflict. A lot of the people in this Thread offering Aid to both AMF and RF don't Understand how fast this war could easily turn into a World War, I would suggest that nations keep there noise's out of it and let it play out, because you could easily be dragged into a war beyond a lot of nations in this Threads ability.

Whatever path this conflict takes, Hattia will support and defend our comrades in Russian Forces.

Against our normal policy, we have ordered mass conscriptions bringing our military strength to over a little over 45 million (Only 2.9% of pop). All forces are on DEFCON 3, any ship or aircraft that is not from a nation allied with Hattia will be given one warning to turn back, or it will be destroyed.

AFAIK, It is already said crater... Not necessarily Tiberium, but still...

OOC: RF, no nation has ever managed to reliably track Supremacy submarines moving at attack speed. They're STILL some of the best stealth subs in the world.
And an OOC question: Can I use my future tech against you RF? If you're using your cosmonauts, I assume I'm allowed to use my mechs and my ships?

Eitherway, I look forward to viewing the mistakes that will inevitably be made and learning from them... I'll admit, I'm not brilliant went it comes to naming military proceedure, but even I know that the defenders have a large advantage over attackers.

OOC: Just a small OOC comment

Standard NATO doctern states that in a Urban Situation, there is a 3 to 1 (3 attackers to 1 defender) kill ratio.

This means, that for every 3 attackers dead, only 1 defender dies. Of course, this happens if all things are equal.

In the case of RF VS AMF where in AMF is the defender and RF the attacker, the ratio jumps to 8 to 1 or 15 to 1, taking into account the relative differences in Tech and training. This, of course, would be a normal urban situation.

Were it to jump to the AMF capital City, the ratio would jump again, to maybe as high as 20 to 1 taking into account desperation.

I don't know the size of the army that RF will send, and I don't know the size of the Army that AMF can defend with, but, RF, you WILL lose if you can't soak up the casualities and you might STILL lose even if you do, because chance are, you'll run out of bodies before they run out of ammo. As well, individually, most of RF's soldiers would be no match for AMF soldiers.

So RF, this is what I recommend, when you send out your initial attacks, send out old men and those that would not be able to fight, ie: mentally incapible, physicly incapable, etc, but send them out weith weapons, and watch your enemy waste their bullets, that way, when your actual soldiers land, AMF might actually be low enough on bullets that you would probably be able to overwhelm them.

OOC: Thanks for the information, but I would of thought that for these figures to count he would need to get his troops on to AMF's islands first, which should be hell of a hard as he would face massive opposition all the way to the beaches...

Then he'd only be able to breach a small force due to the limitations of most vessals (only the smaller vessals can "breach") and as such his first target would have to be ports, which we be required for logistical reasons.

In my mind, one nation cannot invade another succesfully without assistance because of the huge amount of forces that would be lost getting a foothold on the defender... then once it gets to an urban scenario it gets hard again.

I am half tempted to up Melkors odd up to 3:1 that AMF wins.

The NRSS Peoples Might cruised slowly by with its sister ship, the NRSS Peoples Voice just behind. Around the operating waters were submarines and a few ships of the USSNR that were sent to continue monitering the situation, providing help when needed.

ANA, it's near-future to future tech. There are surface and space ships going around, along with cloned soldiers, mechs, and modern-tech ships.

The pack of Supremacy submarines entered Freekian waters. A spysat allowed the subs to pinpoint the location of the Russian fleet. The five subs snuck up on the Russian fleet, before firing a total 60 torpedoes in just under a minute at the Russian carriers and destroyers before slinking off to a distance of just over a kilometre.

OOC: The Supremacy subs have 6 forward torp. tubes, so it's just two rounds from each sub. And when they're firing is the only time they're really visible. They have a slight infrared signature, but almost no sonar profile due to their stealth generator (they use a kind of white-noise generator to mask their sonar sig, and they use a caterpillar drive for propulsion).

1. Attacker sets up approach i.e. Planes launch headed for such and such
2. Defender gets first attack with an intercept.
3. Attacker gets simoltenuos attack against the defenders forces
4. battle ensues here
5. remaining attacker forces or forces that went around main battle go on final approach to target
6. defender gets last attack before attacker uses bombs
7. bombs get drop attacker heads back
8. last attack for defender.
9. rinse and repeat

The government of Higera is placing its full support behind Russian Forces. We are sending our 1st and 2nd Fleets (8 Carrier Groups with support) to the Russian naval forces.

General of The Arny William Higgins requests a meeting with Russian Forces commanders to discuss what matters we can take into our hands.

I'm late...but it seems that so many nations have pledged support to AMF, that I don't even need to say anything.


Nevertheless, Euroslavia, has decided to pledge its support to AMF, because he was once a GDODAD brethren, and will co-ordinate with Nanakaland militarily to aid you in any way possible.

The problem is that I haven't launched military action yet. Just because I founded the Legion of Defence doesn't mean I can bypass half of its rules and do an unprovoked attack. I either have to convince it to the Council that Russian Forces is a threat by being the agressor OR get threatened personally by Russian Forces in order for complete military action OR get directly involved in the conflict on the side of an ally.

Russian Forces, I have to agree, don't take this as advice from your enemy, take it as advice from a fellow RPer. You can't just say you're dropping paratroopers in his country. You MUST RP the planes taking off and tell where they are heading. That way, it gives AMF a chance to intercept.

Follow Belem's guidelines. Those are very good guidelines that I suggest we all follow.

Oh, by the way, I have built a space force since we've last met (it took about two months real-time, very realistic) and thus could probably fight Imperial Forces if my fleet wasn't somewhere outside the Orion Sector right now (about to get involved in the Steel Butterfly civil war).

By the way, Since we last met, I've reintroduced chemical and biological weapons to my nation's armed forces. If you were to invade me, one of three things would happen:

A) Your unprotected military would be gassed with a cocktail of sarin and VX before they could reach civilian areas. My NBCD Special Forces, wearing chemical suits, would then slaughter your surviving invading military.

B) If your military took time to protect themselves, they'd be slowed down by the chemical suits and be exposed to tanks.

C) Your military takes time to take a land route. No matter which border they cross, they'd have to pass at least 15 miles of barren border wastelands, littered with landmines. You'd be slowed down enough for my entire army to mobilize to greet your forces.

P.S. I like to stay neutral in most conflicts. My army is mostly for threats and defense.

And for once, I agree with Belem (who would of thunk it) it would be advisable if you actually made sure you actually followed what he said... every move you make (with exception to some) can be followed by various satalites and radars and other innumberable tracking devices.

Posting your deployment then just waiting for a while before you post your attack against land forces is assuming that he hasn't got defences i the sea, which is like calling damage. He can detect your mobilisation and place a navy in the way long before your bulk forces arrive...

Whats more, I hope that around 75% of your forces are support vessals, or you may find fuel and ammo hard to come by... these things aren't unlimted you know.

first think, are space fleets allowed, or will this be a modern/near future RP. If so that will make a difference...

plus, to the whole sneak attack, rf it is just about impossible to launch a sneak attack with fleets these days. With spy sattelites, superpowers basically track every ship. to move a whole fleet without surprise would be impossible. The japaneese pulled of pear harbor yes, but that was before spy sattelites and other things avaliable today. Basically, there is no sneak attack in terms of navy, especially in dealing with the size of todays aircraft carriers.

OOC: Since the IC part of this is in chaos, consider support for AMF to have been expressed by the military forces of Western Asia. WA territories worldwide are opened to AMF fleets, refugees, and forces.

In all honesty, I'm considering whether I should launch some ICBMs loaded with EMP-generating submunitions at the massive fleets off of AMF's coast. With the combined energy spike patterns and the (obviously necessary) tight proximity of the invading forces, it makes the elimination of all things electronic within the RF fleet quite tempting. Due to the clear possible resulting fight over whether a nuclear response to a non-lethal payload would ever be warranted, I'll have it known that Western Asia has disavowed any and all nuclear weapons and is party to at least 5 different anti-nuclear/nonproliferation treaties...public knowledge.

I'll wait for the IC to be sorted out before offering anything more.

Although both sides in this conflict are currently stating that no nuclear devices will be used, Higera has found it necessary to prepare for the worst.

Currently, our ballistic missile silos are being put on high alert and our officers onboard Cav's Space Defense Station are monitoring the skies.


OOC: The missile fueling will be staggered so that there will always be at least 1/3 of our entire nuclear arsenal at our discretion.

It will go something like this:

Start: Group A (1/3 missiles) fueled
24 hours after start: Group B (1/3) fueled
48 hours after start: Group A defueled and maintained, Group C fueled
72 hours after start: Group B defueled and maintained, Group A fueled
96 hours after start: Group C defueled and maintained, Group B fueled

and etc. etc. until the situation warrants less nuclear threats
