Nez'gah snarled.

"You could be far worse disadvantaged human. I have remained in my lesser form, you would die from the mere presence of my complete form. Now prepare to meet your destruction."

Grimzag coughed modestly and kicked some dust off one of his boots, while saying, "It's alright to admit that you know I could kick your ass if you were my height. No one is around to slag you..."

OOC: Arithon, I've got this grand image of the two fighting each other (At the same height) one trying to regain his lost power, the other trying to stop him destroying the world... please work with me.

A harsh voice sounded in Grimzag's head:
-If the demon is afraid, I will deal with it.-

Shadow and fire mixed, swirling around Grimzag. Power surged through him... and he began to grow. Grimzag screamed in agony, but moments later he was a match for Nez'gah's height.
The whirling shadows died back down to their prior level; the flame flickered and vanished.
OOC: I said earlier that Shadowfang could manage a size change....

Grimzag looked around him, seeing everything from a much different perspective.

"Let's finish this..." he growled, raising the infernal blade, ready for the coming battle.

Below the battle of the behemoths, a small figure pulled his way out of the lava. It was known other than Omnus Stormrider, a little worse for wear, but still alive.

Well isn't this interesting... I've got to cut down on the getting knocked out part...

Nez'gah snarled. The human was more of an obstacle than a real threat. Even with the demon, Nez'gah held much more power. Now that Grimzag stood at his height, he would be much easier to hit.

The twin demonic blades burst a black flame that seemed to suck what little light was present away. It was now complete darkness, of course this didn't bother Nez'gah.

Thrusting the massive blades of destruction toward the human, Nez'gah began gathering power for certain dark magiks.

Although weakened, Omnus began to draw runes in the air, drawing power from all around, gathering it into one point, and giving it to Grimzag, imbuing Grimzag with additional power...

Nez'gah cursed in his demonic tongue. It became obvious he would be needing additional strength to combat the human and the dragon lord. A deep rage was beginning to consume Nez'gah, the rage he would need to summon power to the next level.

OOC: Shadowfang is bigger too, of course...
IC: Shadowfang's ruby flared briefely in the sudden darkness, and Grimzag found his eyes adjusted to see with the senses of the dark sword. Everything he saw seemed to glow, intensity and color showing the power the object contained. Nez'gah shone black with what would have been blinding brilliance, were it normal light; no power was strong enough to dazzle the eyes of Shadowfang, though.
Grimzag brought the sword up with surprising strength, knocking both of Nez'gah's demonic blades upwards and back.
OOC: The human, the sword, and the dragonlord...
Hey, a rhyme! :D

Grimzag mentally decided that he would need to do a LOT of explaining when all this was over... And he wished he understood how this sword worked. He couldn't see any motors inside it, but it kept moving, almost by itself...

Suddenly, a strange tingling sensation came in his fingertips. Without thinking, he raised it and pointed it at Nez'gah. Suddenly, a wave of crimson lightning billowed out of it.

03-02-2004, 08:30
Nez'gah merely brought his swords across himself in cross, shielding himself from the lightning. It merely hit the demonic blades and bounced off harmlessly, into the nearby lava.

Pouring more energy into his blades, they began to crackle with a deep purple lightning, surrounding both blades. With the demonic fire and lightning, Nez'gah launched both dark elements towards Grimzag in a wave of devastating power.

Ah, shit...

With great courage, Omnus leapt in front of the twin blades his arms spewing forth draconic and elemental energy, stopping the blades.

Grimzag, if you're going to kill him, kill him now, while I've kept him busy!!!

Nez'gah snarled as Omnus saved Grimzag from being scorched. Omnus' own magiks were enough to prevent his injury, but Omnus was blasted back toward the ground at high speeds.

The massive demon howled in pain as the blade slashed across his thick hide. Any other blade would have broken, but this demonic blade cut deep, enough to spill his acidic blood.

Rage filled Nez'gah's eyes as he unleashed a series of devastating swipes and slashes toward Grimzag.

A tangled, pulsing web of power began draining away the magic of Nez'gah's attack.

A strange purple glow surrounded Shadowfang's blade...

Shadowfang whirled in an eye-blurring set of counters, purple waves of flame and bolts of lightning showering the area as the blades crashed.
The dark sword sizzled as it gleefully drank in the demonic blood.

His wound healed up, Nez'gah moved with a speed thought impossible for one of his size. The power pulsing on his blades crackled as it came into contact with Shadofang, creating a backlash of demonic energies. The raw power was literally ripping the area apart.

Nez'gah snarled as he chanted under his breath, invoking lost demonic spirits to his cause.

Grimzag dodged as many of Nez'gah's blows as he could, but he still wasn't used to being 10 times taller than usual. So a good number cut into his side, causing him to howl in pain as the wounds opened.

03-02-2004, 10:03
Blue fire flared in Grimzag's wound whenever a blow landed. It stopped the bleeding, though painfully. Shadowfang's glow brightened, and purple light began splashing onto Nez'gah's blades....
OOC: Careful with the demonic spirits... the last thing any of us want is for some of those KT gained power from to take an interest. They can't act without being summoned, fortunately, but he is able to summon them and Shadowfang probably could too. Power is fine, but don't try to do something like trap K T here or anything... OOC: I know what I'm doing.

IC: Nez'gah called on the spirits of ancient demon lords, invoking their power and adding it to his. He had never successfully done this before, but he felt it an appropriate time to try.

The ground began to rumble, more fierce than previously. The remains of the town began to swiftly sink into the lava flow, causing Nez'gah to take to the sky. Several dark bolts of lightning arced from the sky and into the demonic body. It had begun.

03-02-2004, 20:43
Grimzag muttered, "This really isn't good..." when he saw the lightning fueling Nez'gah's body. Without thinking, he slashed at Nez'gah's face with the infernal sword that was still attached to his hand.

04-02-2004, 12:40
The blade crossed Nez'gah's face, leaving a deep cut across his snout and cheek. The pain merely fuelled the massive demon's rage. Looking at the offending human, Nez'gah hissed as he launched a massive clawed foot into the stomach of Grimzag.

Nez'gah needed more power. He knew the dragon rider would do something, he must summon his full power and destroy these two beings.

"GAAAH!" Howled Grimzag, as the demon's claws dug into his chest. Blood dribbled out of the wounds. Grimzag stabbed forward with the Shadowfang with superhuman force as vengeance.

Nez'gah roared in pain as the blade slashed across his muscular thigh, splitting open the toughened hide and releasing the acidic, demonic blood.

Nez'gah swung both his blades toward Grimzag, from both directions as his power grew, this would take some time to complete. But it would be worth it.

OOC: Omnus, could you start giving NEz'gah grief now.... I've got things worked out.

Omnus had fallen to the ground at twice the speed of sound. Badly winded, Omnus staggered up and glared at Nez'gah.

Well this demon is not a walk in the park...

Gathering his draconic magic and the elemental magic around him into his hands, Omnus began to toss bolts of elemental magic laced with draconic fire at Nez'gah, helping Grimzag fend off Nez'gah's attacks...

06-02-2004, 09:03
Nez'gah was too concerned with the searing pain of the wound Grimzag just delt to notice the bolts of dragonic power surging toward him. The bolts stuck him in the side, send the massive demon sprawling backwards, into the hard earth. Pushed into a blind rage, Nez'gah jumped back several metres, arms raised and eyes glowing deep crimson, Nez'gah began to chant.

The earth shook, creating cracks around Nez'gah, the storms grew more fierce, continuing their electric assualt of the land and the wind picked up to speeds well over 200km/hr. Power was coming.
Kazar-Tiyon
06-02-2004, 09:14
Grimzag leaped forward, thrusting; fierce purple flames raced up and down Shadowfang's blade.

07-02-2004, 06:01
Bolts of lightning flowed from the dark abyss of the sky and poured into the ground, surround Nez'gah. He was now shielded by the immense electric power.

The massive demon continued to roar as he drew on the strength of his demon world itself, drawing out the pure demonic energy that spawned his race.

Molten rock began to flow at his feet, burning all that it came into contact with, save for Nez'gah.

07-02-2004, 10:33
"Aww hell..." muttered Grimzag, as the lava poured towards his feet. He began backing away from it, desperately trying to find a way to avoid it. After all, he'd lasted his long against a giant demon and an evil swordsman... getting burnt up by lava would be an incredibly lame way to die after all that...

Power began to surge through Nez'gah's veins. He could feel the energy of the anceint demon lords flowing into him. He would be unstopable if he successfully invoked their power.

He continued to call upon the depths of hell to fulfill him, it was almost time.

OOC: I need Omnus and Grimzag to attack with all they have, they need to push Nez'gah over the edge whilst they still can.

"I'm not... gonna... stop... NOW!" Yelled Grimzag wildly, giving up all thoughts of self-preservation and throwing himself at Nez'gah, swinging Shadowfang left, right, up, down and every other direction in an insane fury.

As the blade descended toward Nez'gah, it struck the lightning barrier and was held steady. Large waves of backlash energy were unleashed as the sword contested against the demonic elemental powers. The land continued to rumble and spew molten rock.

Nez'gah screamed as he watched the blade hit the barrier, he could feel the pressure being applied to his protections.

A shadowy disk formed below Grimzag's feet, protecting him from the heat of the molten stone. Purple fire flared, beginning to stain Nez'gah's shield with violet as Shadowfang struggled against it. Small spheres of shadow started forming and smashing into the barrier....

Nez'gah roared in frustration. His power and concentration was diverted into calling upon the ancient powers of his land. He could not stop the process to reinforce his protections, they were going to fail and there is nothing he can do about it.

The fury began to build up within the massive demon, calling forth even more power to surge through his veins. Almost there........

Omnus watched as Nez'gah surrounded himself in electricity. With practiced skill, Omnus called his Hellblade to him. Like an obsidian wraith, it appeared out of the molten lava and into Omnus's right hand. Dropping near the lava below, Omnus dipped the Hellblade into the ground and chanted three words.

Flames Below Arise...

Immediately the lava began to "erupt" as massive blasts of volcanic lava began to shoot out from the ground, all of them aimed at Nez'gah through Omnus's twisted spell.
Arithon
11-02-2004, 10:29
The molten rock shot forth, colliding with Nez'gah's electrical barrier. It was too much. The combination of the human's attacks and those of Omnus, the barrier would not hold.

Nez'gah screamed in rage and pain as the electrical barrier snapped and dissipated with an ear shattering crack. Nothing left to defend him, the demon took the full force of the molten rocks and the sting of the demonic blade welded by the human. Perhaps it was over.....

No. Nez'gah would not let his return to this realm end in such a way. He had worked too hard and for too long to regain the strength and rank to return. It would not end like this. His rage exploded to a new level, his damaged pride now fuelling the anger. Nez'gah now channelled the pain, rage and all of his being into summoning this necessary power. The power of a Demon Lord.

Deep within the planet's crush, a small sphere sprung to life. Growing rapidly, the sphere smashed through the hardened rock surrounding it, its course was directly upward, toward the raging battle. Kilometre after kilometre, the portal surged through the earth, intent on reaching the surface. Finally it reached the goal. Emerging under the clawed feet of Nez'gah, the portal widened and began crackling.

Initially, it did nothing save for allowing Nez'gah to pass through. Once fully established, the demonic gate unleashed a backlash of energy upon Omnus and Grimzag, blasting them several metres away. Looking down into the portal, Nez'gah saw the molten lake of the Ancient Lords, within his homeland of Arithon. The lake where the past Demon Lords imbued their power upon death. It was surging, the lake shot upwards, toward the inter-dimensional portal at incredible speeds. The imbued molten rock passed through the portal, following the path toward Nez'gah.

Howling with laughter, Nez'gah watched as the magma sprung forth from the portal and completely engulfed him. He was now surrounded by an inpenetratable cylinder of molten rock from the very depths of the demonic homeland.
Dregruk
11-02-2004, 18:37
Grimzag tried to get back to his feet, while avoiding the falling molten rock that was spluttering out of the portal. He suddenly realised that he wasn't 10 times taller; he was back to his normal height. He looked down at his hand and soon knew why; Shadowfang had fallen off. Or released itself. It was hovering in the air by the demonic gate, being imbued by the rich, demonic energies that were plentiful there.

Grimzag got to his feet and stared at Nez'gah. It was over. Nez'gah had won. The end had come for him, and everyone in the world that wouldn't be able to stop the massive Demon Lord.

"END IT, YOU FREAK!" Shouted Grimzag, "I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU WIPE OUT MY COUNTRY WHILE I'M STILL ALIVE, SO GET IT OVER WITH OR I'LL DIE TRYING TO TEAR YOU APART!"

OOC: KT, you can complain about Shadowfang's new powers if you want, but then again, you do have a demonic-charged super-sword for Kazar...
Kazar-Tiyon
12-02-2004, 05:44
OOC: I'd been planning on enhancing Shadowfang more slowly, but this just accelerated the process. I'm certainly not going to complain about you hastening my plans... http://smile.achost.co.uk/s/contrib/ruinkai/vampv.gif
IC:
-You have been useful, mortal. That should not go without benefit...-

Grimzag felt knowledge settling in the back of his mind, and dark power searing into his bones. It was only a tiny fraction of the magic Kazar-Tiyon had access to... but it was enough to give the Warchief a chance against most mages, and he would not need to fear falling, while consious, for the rest of his life.
Of course, at the moment that didn't look like a very long time.
OOC: This "gift" is, of course, nothing compared to Nez'gah's power. It's about on the same level as a pocketknife against a broadsword. Still, it's better than nothing.
IC: Meanwhile, the ruby on Shadowfang's pommel was starting to glow brighter... and brighter....
Arithon
12-02-2004, 08:28
OOC: The power is being imbued from within the lava..... directly into Nez'gah. The sword might be able to sit on the edge and soak in some backlash energy...... but it would recieve nothing of the demon lord energies.

(And don't worry...... unless any of you want your characters dead, I have a plan that will leave Nez'gah happy and your characters alive.)

IC: Nez'gah couldn't believe the power flowing through him. He had always considered himself a powerful demon, only slightly less than his Lord Arithon. How wrong he was..... The power of a demon lord was enourmous, more than Nez'gah had ever imagined. To even consider how powerful an experience demon lord like Arithon would be, hurt his brain.

Finally the energy began to lose its thrust, depleted of power it began to fall back into the molten lake. Now imbued with the energy of a newly born Demon Lord, Nez'gah was ecstatic. The cylinder of power dispersed and the portal closed up once again, the tunnel however would remain deep within the crust, serving as a reminder of what has happened.

Finally, Nez'gah had ascended to the level of Demon Lord.

"So now what happens...?" Mumbled Grimzag to himself, "Nez'gah'll probably go on a wild killing spree. I would, if I was in his shoes..."

Grimzag walked towards Nez'gah slowly, getting ready to be smushed into the ground. "Finish it..." He muttered.

"Finish it..." He said.

"FINISH IT!" He roared, his rage getting the better of him, as it so often did.

Omnus Stormrider swore colorfully. Knowing that he was no match for the newly created Demon Lord, Omnus began to back away. As he did so, Omnus unsheathed his sword, known to history as the infamous Hellblade, the sword that challenged the Brightblade and held its own. Drawing it clear of its sheath, Omnus held the Hellblade with its hilt at eye level. Staring into it, Omnus tried to call forth the one man who had hopes of ever defeating Nez'gah, the one known as the Windwalker and the Eternal Lord and the wielder of the ultimate draconic weapon, the DragonMarch Sword, Lance Crusade.

With his newly aquired power, Nez'gah would be unstoppable on the mortal plain. Not to mention the power he would wield within the demonic realms.

Starring at the ones that had caused this incident, Nez'gah smiled. Even though there was no malice intended, the grin was one to inspire fear into the hearts to brave warriors.

"It seems the situation as risen to the next level."

Nez'gah looked over the now engulfed town. There was nothing left, just a lake of molten rock mixing with the ocean water. And the tunnel that stretched far into the crust of the planet.

"It is because of you two, I am now a being of immense power. That requires gratitude. In return, I shall spare your lives as I have far more important matters to attend to within my homeland. Consider yourselves lucky."

Grimzag paused, and thought.

On one hand, Nez'gah was about to leave, letting Dregruk rebuild the ruined town. But then Nez'gah was being a coward.

On the other hand, Nez'gah could easily kill him and everyone in Dregruk. Which wouldn't be good. But at least he would go down fighting...

Grimzag sighed, before shouting, "Go wherever you freaks go, but I'll be waiting for you. And the next time you show your ugly face here, I might just feed you it along with your arse. Go go back to Hell and lick your wounds."

OOC: I like the idea of the two characters having a long running rivalry... y'know, Grimzag hates Nez'gah because he couldn't kill him, and vice-versa... hey, this could have interesting consequences...

As Omnus chanted, he felt a strange presence in the air. As he channeled his energy into the Hellblade to call forth the Windwalker Lance Crusade, the heavens began to open up. Within seconds, balls of elemental energy began to descend, slamming into the ground...

Nez'gah took little notice of what Omnus was attempting to do.

"My plans do not concern you, dragon rider. I shall depart and you can return to your pitiful existence uninterrupted, for now."

Nez'gah merely displayed his razor sharp teeth as the storm dragon appeared. He was not concerned with such. Much would change between now and his next visit to the human world.

"We shall see dragon rider. Until we meet again."

The massive demon plunged himself into the large sphere portal, completely engulfing himself in the crimson sphere. In a brilliant flash, the sphere disappeared, along with Nez'gah. For all those that bore witness to such an event, a sense that it was not over could not be shaken.

OOC: Just to finish my part in this...
IC: In a small town, far away:
Kazar-Tiyon awoke. He knew the feeling of waking from the dead; it had certainly happened to him enough times to be familiar. Far more unusual was the fact that he couldn't remember what had killed him. As bad as he was feeling now, it must have been something quite major, but the last thing he remembered was crashing into Nez'gah. He had hit hard enough to be stunned, but neither that impact nor a fall from that height could possibly have done as much damage to him as he felt.
Time enough to worry about that later... Of more importance, where am I now?
Climbing to his feet, Kazar-Tiyon looked around. He was in an alley behind what appeared to be a bar; the place had the look of a small town. As he was getting his bearings, a drunk staggered out of the tavern. The man stumbled, catching himself against a wall, and then noticed Kazar-Tiyon's shadowy form in the darkness.
"Wadder you lookin' at?!" he bellowed. "You want a fight? I'll give you a fight!" The drunk pulled a knife and charged. Kazar-Tiyon calmly sidestepped his rush, and tore out his throat with one metal-gloved hand. He sighed in relief as he drained the man's blood. This one certainly wasn't worth Shadowfang's blade... he thought, standing up, but his blood is still good enough to heal me.
Wait... Shadowfang! Where is it?
Realizing that the sword was not with him, Kazar-Tiyon focused on his last memory: Grimzag Deathjaw receding into the distance as he flew through air... and Shadowfang, lying in the dust where it had been knocked from his hand by Grimzag's axe.
The entire town heard his scream of rage.
------------------
About 25 minutes later, Kazar-Tiyon was soaring towards Dregruk on a disc of shadow. All that lay behind him were ashes, rubble, and charred bones, but this had done little to lessen his fury. Shadows and fire roiled around him, and the sky grew dark as he passed. He was preparing magic of fire and death when Shadowfang reached him...
-Do not be too angry with the mortal, Master. He was... useful.-
A jolt of magic surged into Kazar-Tiyon's body, about 90% of the power Shadowfang had stolen while Nez'gah attained the power of a Demon Lord.
-Useful indeed! I am still not as strong as I once was, but this is enough power to begin my work properly again. Now I can resume my plans....-
Then, he realized something else....
-You're awake!-
-Yes. I've been on the verge of wakening for decades; this was finally enough to trigger it.-
For the first time in almost 500 years, Kazar-Tiyon was happy. For the first time in far, far longer than that, he set aside his hatred and anger, and delighted in creation.
For a time, he set them aside. He had time to spare, now. His plans were ready to begin.
