((Damn, I can't write something that romantic :P ))
Lafiël let herself be embraced by Cyrus, and their lips met again. She felt as though her sorrow was lifted from her, the heavy yolk which trapped her for so long. She had struggled against her feelings at first, but now she knew what was meant to be. Peace was absolute upon her.

Dear online friends and fellow roleplayers, I will be offline until at least next friday due to unforeseen circumstances. [I'm baaack.. anyone missed me? Now, where were we..ah yes, have to get into the right mood again.. is it too late to finish this thread?]
The two of them now alone, they just looked at each other, enjoying their warm feelings for now. Finally, Cyrus broke the silence.
"I don't have a ring or anything with me.. and I don't really know elf customs.. but if we can take care of those things later.."
Lafiël realized what he was implying when he backed away a little and dropped down on one knee, while still holding her hand. Cyrus proved to be, as always, a man of action.
"Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

[Thanks! Now, rebels, rebels.. hmm...]
In the rebel base
Adam may have stopped when he aimed at the rebel girl, but she didn't. Young, brash, and filled with propaganda, she lifted her assault rifle (too large for her) and fired a salvo across the desk. Adam got away only by taking cover under it. The other rebels were in no position to fight back immediately after their surprise and getting thrown around.

In the tyrant's military base
Anyone without Adam's supersoldier abilities would surely have failed such a daring shot, but the single bullet hit the stock and ripped it out of the girl's hands, still firing. The salvo sprayed along the wall and up to the ceiling, with a ricochet hitting one of the men along the wall. But now the remaining troops began to regain their senses, and another two soldiers aimed at Adam - one opened fire, but the metal table deflected the first salvo thanks to the low angle.

The airship entered Centropolis' airzone one hour later., having slowed down during the final approach. A gentle descent began, and suddenly a massive cityscape bathing in sunlight broke out of the clouds as they looked out through the windows. The shining skyscrapers, most of them looking like thin pyramids, each several miles tall, looked like a child's toys strewn out on a carpet of bare dirt.. and below and around them were a network of roads stretched out in every direction, many of them clearly hanging above ground.

"I guess I haven't thought much about that. I'm glad you like it though. 'course, it looks better on a perfect day such as this", he smiled.
"Actually, that's no coincidence. The nation's pride and joy is the Centropolis WCG - weather control generator. Ensures perfect weather all over the city. We run light rain every tuesday night, except for summer when we put a little daytime. No storms, hurricanes or anything like that, ever. Excellent for putting out fires too, just mesh up some heavy rain and no wind until it's out. It sucks up huge amounts of power but it's worth it. We'll hope to improve the local nature with it in time."
Cyrus looked a little thoughtful for a moment. "You know, I've been thinking. I bet there's going to be a number of elves leaving Cyberutopia thanks to the civil war, no matter how it goes. I'm not planning to get Centropolis into the conflict, but they'd be welcome to move here. We've always had a generous refugee policy, so I'm not going out on a limb politically anyway.. what do you think?"

"That would be very kind of you. Thank you." She said, a rare happiness in her tone. "An ingenious device, a weather machine is. It's incredible what sentient beings can do."
[Someone better save Adam this time..]
"It's the smallest thing I can do, really. As for the WCG, we're very proud of it. The military thinks it can nullify any gas attacks, and there's more plans with it as well. Just don't ask me to explain how it works."
Cyrus laughed briefly. It did feel good to see Centropolis again. Safety. Home. And this time, he wasn't alone.. Primin was not only an official, he was a good friend. But Primin couldn't replace a good woman by his side. It felt good to be alive. He smiled warmly at Lafiël and said,

In Cortez' military base
Adam was taken back to his cell, unconscious. The soldiers would have preferred to shoot him down, but they were stopped by cooler heads. They dragged him unceremoniously along the dirt, not caring when his head hit stones. He should have died from his wounds together with his previous injuries, but he somehow managed to stay alive. The girl he met before was assigned to fix his injuries, since she was one of the few with experience.
The compound was guarded by towers and patrols. The incoming trasians weren't immediately noticed since the electricity had been cut off during Adam's brawl, which was lucky for them. Both the electricity in the fence and the searchlights were out. But they could hear dogs bark as they continued to sneak in among the low buildings.
the Trasians sneak into a small supply area and place Grenades by some explosives that where in a crate and they pull the pins but gently set them down carfully, then they go outside the supply shed then throw another grenade into the shed and crawl like heck away from it
In Cortez' military base
Large explosions shudder the ground in the base, the first one sending a jeep flying, and igniting some barrels stacked along a wall. Cortez' rebels, now the cyberutopian army, begin to run around shouting and gunfire can be heard. More explosions erupt and damage equipment and buildings, the confusion increases until an officer can be heard shouting instructions to put out the fires. When the explosions go out, darkness fills the base with only the buildings on fire providing some light, displaying an eerie view of shadows running around, accompanied by the continued staccato noises of gunfire.
the Trasians crawl to the prision area and put silencers on their M41A Pulse Rifles. they spy a guard infront of the cells and they sniper him

The guard falls forward silently. But now the soldiers has got into some resemblance of order, and a flare was sent up, lighting up the night and the base in a sharp, phosphorous glare.
It was by pure chance the Trasian's were spotted by a small patrol, but they would have been noticed anyway sooner or later.
"Those aren't our troops! Call for reinforcements! Release the hounds!"
Dogs barked as they ran to attack. Gunfire was seen in their direction, now it was clear that the Trasians were discovered. Shortly after, the soldiers ahead either recieved a radio order or grasped the situation. Some kneeled down, and some ran, but they opened fire, and the Trasians were caught in a cross-fire. Only the poor equipement of the enemy prevented them from being wiped out in short order; they didn't have nightsights as standard. But soon, someone would bring them out..

Lafiël grinned. She liked to play with the minds of the press. She loved to make a fun little game out of it all.
"Let's try the storage compartment." She said, leading him by the hand towards the compartment.
They reached the small compartment, and Lafiël crawled into the cramped area. A muffled giggle could be heard.
"C'mon!" She called back. "It's quite cozy in here."
A cramped luggage compartment wasn't exactly Cyrus' idea of a cozy place, but he thought to himself, "you live and learn."
"I'll follow you anywhere"
He crouched and got inside with Lafiël giving him a helping hand the last way.
"Oy, it's dark in here. I guess there's no light until it opens. It should be soon."

Cyrus smiled at her in the dark and suddenly realized she might see him even in this dark cache, being an elf and all.
Their joyous moment didn't last very long, since the loading door opened, and Cyrus blinked in the light. The sun was shining low on the sky. A surprised loading crew looked into the bay, but Cyrus and Lafiël just smiled and walked past them. They walked casually away until they were at good enough distance from the airship to look back at it safe from being discovered. Just as they had expected, a mass of reporters from every news channel and paper were assembled at the front door.
"Hah! I wish I could do that everytime", laughed Cyrus, then he turned his head to look at Lafiël and smiled happliy at her.
"Okay, what do you want to do next?"

"Well, I don't have any clothes other than those on my back, they were all destroyed or looted, I'm sure. How about taking care of that, and then you can show me the important stuff about Centropolis, and maybe some of the not so important stuff, too." She said, looking up at Cyrus as they stood there. "How long do you think it will be until the press finds out about me? Two days? One day? Three minutes?"
"I think several days, with all the news flood coming in from Cyberutopia. If we can keep quiet, it should take them more time than usual to figure it out."
He rubbed his jaw thoughtfully.
"My guards will go crazy, but maybe we can just take a taxi and go shopping. If we go to the Ducal Palace to prepare, chances are someone will notice."
They entered the airport terminal walking, and Cyrus checked the airport map to find where the cabs were parking, something he never had to do before.
"It's by entrance G-4. So, what do you think? Going rampant in the city just on our own?"
In Cortez' military base
The explosion from the grenade took out a couple troopers who had been firing on the Trasians, but not the patrol guards. They put down suppressive fire to force the advancing Trasian's down until reinforcements could arrive - which could take some time, since the base was still in a very disarrayed state, and the grenade had killed the officer leading the defense. The four guard dogs reached the Trasian's position and began to bark loudly as they attacked two of them.

"Then let's use that time to the fullest." She told him. "It sounds good to me to just take a taxi."
"Your wish is my command."
They soon found themselves a taxi - the whole place was full of them, just waiting for passengers into the city. Once they left the airport, Lafiël noticed that the road soon turned into a huge transparent tube on a high level above the ground.
"We should be in the central city in a few minutes. That tall cylindrical building is the Omnibank complex, and over there's the national zoo. I hear they've got in some Daharajan dragons."
Cyrus gently squeezed her hand as he continued to point out landmarks along the road.

"What's this tube we're in?" She asked him curiously.
"They used to keep the weather out from the road, now it just prevent cars from falling down. It's some kind of semi-flexible carbon plastic. I reckon they will be obsolete if we ever manage to get the gravity wave device small and efficient enough."
The tube dwindled forward and continuously lower. At some points there were intersections with other tubes, leading traffic around the city.
"See that thing by the horizon? That's the dish of the WCG."
Cyrus looked down from the window of the taxi.
"I think we're just about there. Clothes, you say. There's a bunch of designer shops all together, I think they call it designer's district. Driver, take us there."
In Cortez' military base
The wounded Trasians was wounded a bit more, but he got rid of the dogs easily enough. He was also still pinned down by the guards. The base was still in heavy disarray, and the second small ammunition cache blowing up did nothing to help the situation. The two Trasians breaking into the prison was immediately greeted by weapons fire from the few prison guards.

The sudden appearance of an armored force outside the perimeter immediately caught the attention of the soldiers. Only a few were left in place to keep the Trasians inside down for now. On the bad news side, they had moved around his position and now got him in a cross-fire.
Inside the cell, the trasian found a prisoner in a dirty, simple unform. He looked up almost not caring when he got an unexpected visitor, expecting the guards coming for whatever reason.

She began to wander aimlessly through the store, with a rather unwelcome entourage of shop staff. After a short while, she had picked out a several sets of clothes that she liked. Lafiël went to try them on, and reappeared a while later, the everpresent group of staff holding the clothes.
"These will do nicely." She remarked to Cyrus.
[wowzers..]
"VERY nice indeed, you look both chic and professional."
Cyrus handed the staff his card absentmindedly. It was just a platinum after all.

"Who, me? I was guarding an arms depot when these rebels showed up and broke into it."
Cortez' soldiers had problems. They fired back at the Blacksun troops with assault rifles and heavy machineguns, but they had nothing to touch the tanks with from start due to lack of organization. A small number of soldiers was sent off to get LAWs and other heavy weapons. All visible depots had been blown up already. These soldiers were pretty incompetent, but someone with a better head had put most of the supplies in hidden bunkers, perhaps it was a leftover from the previous government.

"Well, is there anything else you need to shop? Otherwise, maybe we can just.. enjoy things as they are for now. You wanted me to show you around, right? We could go to the palace, look at landmarks as you said, or we can pretend to be tourists.. there's plenty to see."

"I'd guess so from the screams I've heard", said the prisoner.
A few rocket launchers had been brought to fire on the tanks, but the soldiers still struggled with getting out more heavy weapons under the fire from the Blacksun troops. One of them screamed, "For the cause!" and rolled himself, wearing several grenade belts, under a tank. He blew himself up along with the treads and the armored skirt of the tank, which began to give off thick, black smoke. The crew abandoned it just before the fuel tank exploded, sending shrapnel across the field.

Nova watched the cab go by her from the shadows. She had left the pair alone for a small time and they left with out her. "Looks like it is time for me to hitch a ride," she says as she activates her cloak and begens sprinting out towards the cab
The ceramite hand suddenly reacted, extending its fingers to the taxi, the artificial muscles tensing, then suddenly relaxing, the prosthetic limb falling to Aliria's side. "It turned off. Wierd. And about the Countess, I don't know. I don't know her, it's your call".
after the detonator went off he went to the door (what's left of it) and gives it alittle tip, wih that the door falls.
Trasian:that was the easiest door i destroyed.
[Okay.. I'll just tag along]
"It's pretty big", said Cyrus to Lafiël. "3000 rooms. Or that's what they tell me, I've never counted them. Some of it newer than the original building. It wasn't always the Grand Ducal Palace. The park is pretty big too."
In Cortez' military base
The military base was practically overrun after all the mess created by the bombers and the blacksun soldiers. Most buildings were on fire, and the defenders were mostly running around wildly. Only the ones by the gate seemed to be still making some coordinated resistance thanks to their officers. Inside the prison, Adam's cell had just been blown open.
the Black Suns Troopers go in groups of 5 and start to hunt for remaining Troops
while the Trasian inside just finshes to give little kicks to what's left of the Door
Trasian:man they don't make cell doors like they used to eh?

"Impressive. It reminds me of home...the home I can never see again." Lafiël mused quietly with a small sigh.
From their concealed position, Four and Aliria watched the taxi come to a halt.
"Then we will wait. I want to observe the Countess, to evaluate her. No one comes out of what she's been though mentally unscathed." He told Aliria, watching from behind mirrored glasses.

Nova ran up to the taxi with her cloak activated and knocked on one of the windows gently.
---------------------
Adam struggled to he feet and leaned against the cell wall and looked around and grumbled under his breath "Great they had to start the party with out me."
just then the weakened door gives away and the Trasian steps through
Trasian:hello, are you the one called adam?

"I'm good at healing minds, and hearts. Maybe I could talk to her, I'm the best diplomatic of my country after all. But maybe you're right, she don't want anything that reminds her of that inferno. Hey, wait a minute. I see a figure runnig with the taxi, and it's cloaked with an invisibility device, maybe it's another assasin!", says Aliria alarmed.

"It's alright, Princess. The cloak has the signature of Phalanixian technology. A Royal Sniper." He said, an overpoweringly calm tone in his voice. "I would be most appreciative if you were to talk to the Countess."

Nova smirked. "You know all you had to do was open the door and let me in."
"You just have to show up everytime when it's the least fitting, don't you?"
But truth to be told, Cyrus was glad to see Nova again. If for nothing else, so for the fac t that she had broken a possibly awkward memory for Lafïel.
"It wasn't that impressive of you to deduct we would show up here sooner or later. But I'm glad you came, shall we all go in?"

Lafiël nodded and took Cyrus' hand in hers. As the trio walked towards the doors of the palace, however, she couldn't shake the feeling she was being watched.
Four watched from the shadows with a detached interest, taking note of every motion she made.
"This is your opportunity to talk to the Countess, Princess." The Agent told Aliria. "I do not believe she will be as easy to approach once she enters that palace."

"I'm enjoying myself." Lafiël stated, smiling. "We didn't forget about you, we know that you can take care of yourself, right?"
"Yeah. I figured you could slip away easier on your own. But, eh, your weapon. The palace is full of Royal High Guard soldiers, I don't think they'll like that. I don't think you'll need it in there either."
Aliria takes off her cloak and steps forward to meet the little group.
"Greetings", says the Princess Aliria in her most delicate Quenya, raising her right hand in the traditional elven salute "May the blessings of Isha can be over you and over your kin and family. I was looking for you, Countess Lafiël from Cyberutopia, I need a favor to ask", her face was sad, but smiling at the same time, trying to show her good intentions.

Lafiël smiled at Aliria as she spoke. The Countess raised her hand as well in a salute.
"Thank you, and may Isha bless you equally." She spoke in a refined tone of Quenya. "Tell me, what do you require?"
"I...I need to talk something with you...something private, about what happened back in Cyberutopia. I need to...introduce someone to you, it's very important to me...", says the Princess, visibly nervous.

Lafiël nodded in response.
"Ok, if it is important to you I shall agree to your request." She said to Aliria.
"I'll just be a moment." She said to Cyrus in English, and gave him a peck on the cheek before walking away with Aliria.
"What the hell?", muttered Cyrus to himself. Since the newcomer had opened her mouth, it removed any doubt that she was an elf, but how come half the world seemed to know where to find Lafïel already?
"I'll have to check security. It won't be long now until everyone knows, if they don't already. Nova, I take back my previous statement. Keep your weapon ready until we actually enter the palace."
He looked after Lafiël and the new girl, walking out of hearing distance.
She have to be from Cyberutopia.. or is she? All the elves seem to know each other..

Four watched quietly from the shadows. He was especially interested in her reaction to Aliria's revelation to the Countess. His gaze turned to Cyrus for a moment.
"I don't like this. Something's up", muttered Cyrus to himself again. He knew well to listen to his instincts, and to not rely on them. Suddenly he felt naked, as he was standing in an open area without the usual escort, and he frowned.
I hope they hurry up. I'm not going to wait for long. They can chat indoor.

Nova quickly slaps several switches on her rifle and smirks. "Locked and loaded. And don't worry. I'll cover your sorry ass."
"I was more concerned about Lafiël, but thanks for the thought."
Cyrus looked around. He was still feeling uncomfortable, as if something bad could happen at any moment.
The Princess looks into Laifël eyes, searching the way of start talking about the delicate issue "First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm the Princess Aliria D'Hyru, Imperial Chancellor of the Aelosian Empire and heir to the Throne of the Everqueen. I know that my aspect and my dressings are not the ones of a Princess, but I could say that the circumstances haven't let me to appear in a proper manner".
Aliria raised her prostethic limb and showed it to Lafiël. "This is an artificial hand, made of ceramite porcelain. A kenkari priest implanted it on me after I lost my hand in a space capsule weeks ago. However, this hand works thanks to the impulses and orders of something called Wraithstone. A Wraithstone is just the soul of a fallen elven warrior trapped inside a magical crystal. I don't know exactly how the magic of the crystal works, I just know that the soul of the warrior is connected through mystical means to the spirit of the wearer, allowing complete compatibility between the both of them".
She opened a little compartment in the ceramite porcelain forearm, pulling out a huge blue sapphire with an oval form. The artificial hand inmediately turned off. "This is the stone that I was talking about. Now, Why I'm looking for you?. I don't know how or when, the warrior that lies inside this particular stone had very close ties to you when he was alive. He told me that he died in Cyberutopia some time ago, and commanded me to find you and make sure that you are safe. As my own soul is linked to this spirit I couldn't refuse his demands. I went to Cyberutopia to find you, but someone there told me that you escaped to Centropolis, so here I am. When he felt that you were here, the hand turned off, as its purpose were fulfilled. However, it is alive again, and he demands to talk with you".
She holds the stone in front of Lafiël, a little blue flame dancing inside the stone, glowing brighter as it approaches Lafiël.

Lafiël nodded, her expression one of pure awe. She took the gem and held it gently in her delicate hands, as if it might shatter at any given moment. She looked down softly at the Wraithstone, letting the soft blue light wash over her, and anxiously awaited the spirit's words. She knew that the soul that was before her had to be the spirit of Rafiel, but as much as she wanted to believe such a thing, a voice in her head kept telling her that he was gone, and no matter how much she hoped, he wouldn't come back.
You're right. I'm gone forever, I won't come back, but at least I have a last chance to talk with you, says a soft voice inside Lafiël's mind when she touches the stone, a voice coming from the other side of the frontier of the lands of the living. I didn't know if you were alive, if you made it through. I thought I died for nothing, but now I'm happy again, because I know you're alive, and that you made it.

Nova yawns abit and suddenly her cloak deactivates. "Damn it. I had it on for to long the plasma pack went dead," Nova says as she grumbles. "Got anything I can use to hide myself?" Nova then quickly jumps behind Cyrus just incase she was spoted
"Sorry. I didn't bring a coat since the weather is always fine. I could call for something though."
Cyrus glanced over at Lafiël and the new elven woman. There was no telling what they were doing, but he thought that she looked a bit like Rafiel.
Maybe she's aelosian. What was it.. shadow elf? Not that I have any clue to what that means. But what is she doing here.. besides from the obvious, that is.
He felt a bit guilty of spying on them, so he looked around instead. This part of the city was comparatively quiet thanks to the presence of the large palace park. The street was mostly composed of small shops and apartments buildings, all very expensive and high-class. There wasn't any high-level transport tubes around either, both because they wouldn't fit in and because they were put to better use in the crowded central city.
"Maybe we shouldn't walk in through the main entrance. There's other ways.."

Lafiël nodded, and a tear rolled down her cheek, splashing on the gem.
"I'm here, thanks to you. If you're happy, then that's more than enough for me. I'm both suprised and delighted that you would go to such lengths for me. Nothing could bring me greater peace of mind than your words." She said, smiling a little bit.
I just wanted to know that you're OK. Something is waiting for me at the other side. My father, my mother and my little sister. They're calling me, and I need to go with them. Thanks for your gift, I will hold it for all eternity as the most beautiful thing in the universe. I could say that we will meet again, but I will pray for that never happen. Live a long and good life, Lafiël, and remember that your people need you. Cyrus is a good man, he will take care of you, may Isha and the Valar bless your union. Farewell, fair Lafiël, the life was better after knowing you, you gave meaning to my life.
After saying those words inside Lafiël's mind, the gem absorbed the tear, showing again the dry surface of the sapphire. But the light inside it dissapeared, turning into a normal, standard, yet strangely beautiful, sapphire.
"That makes two of us. But I don't want to interrupt.. whatever it is she is doing."

"F...Farewell, Rafiel." She whispered just before the light faded from the gem.
She handed the Wraithstone back to Aliria, and gave her a sad smile.
"Thank you, for bringing him to me." She said, and looked over her shoulder at Cyrus, noting his discomfort. "I must go now. Goodbye, Princess, and my Isha bless you and your nation."
Aliria grabs the stone, now lifeless, and wait until Lafiël leaves with Cyrus to turn to Four "That was sad, but everybody was needing that. Can you tell me how I can return to my country?".

"I agree. The Countess reacted well, quite composed. I wouldn't expect anything less. You, too, did well." Four said, letting a small smile of satisfaction creep onto his lips. "You can get out of Centropolis using the shuttle we came in. It should still be working."
Four spun on his heel, the cloak matching his movements perfectly, billowing out behind him. He walked off at a quick pace, towards the shuttle that was hidden in the clearing.
Aliria just followed Four. She was overcome by sadness and grief. And thinking about her last love, Theallas, fighting for Rafiel's revenge in Cyberutopia, maybe he was dead by now, as her former fianceé the Emperor. "I destroy everything that I touch", she said in a very low voice as she walked to the shuttle.

Four dropped back a little bit to walk beside Aliria.
"What is the matter, Princess?" He asked her, looking over at Aliria from behind his mirrored sunglasses.
She kicked a rock as she spoke "I don't know. That soldier Rafiel came back from the death just to say goodbye to her beloved. And I was thinking why Fhiann, my former fianceé, didn't do that too. I'm worried about Theallas, the ruler of Thelas. You could say we're in love now, and he's fighting a war just for me, to help me. He could be dead by now, or in mortal danger, and I'm afraid he could die and I couldn't help him, as it happened with Fhiann during the last Aelosian Coup".

Cyrus could see that something was wrong easily as daylight, but whatever it was, Lafiël was obviously not going to talk about it. At least not now and here.
"Yeah. I've been thinking a bit. We can take one of the secret entrances to minimize the fuss."
Without further comment, he walked off to show them were it could be found. He entered an apartment building with Lafiël and Nova follwing, and continued to a door with the number 4 on it. It had a keypad as lock. Cyrus quickly tapped in the keycode and the door opened to reveal.. an apartment. A luxurious one at that, but just an apartment. He continued over to the bathroom and opened a large drying machine.
"Secret elevator. It leads down to a monitored tunnel which leads into the castle. The apartment is sometimes used by security."

"Sir, LocHunt reports the ShadowPrince is in the target zone." His wristband abrubtly squacked.
"You know, the Princess is standing right next to me." Four growled.
"Sorr-" The officer started to say, but Four shut the radio off.
"You're right in one respect, Princess. We must get back to Cyberutopia as soon as we can." He told her, his tone softening slightly.

[(Scratches head) Hmm.. if we skip to the wedding, we'll probably have hundreds of guests as a minimum requirement.
