How can a nation initiate trade and military power when there are no statistics provided for such activities? We are working in a void here. If we are to simulate national events and activities does it not make sense to include financial, resource, and military perameters to each nation?

Some stats are totally fictionalized by the players (there are several good RP stickied threads on the subject...if I can find them)

RP = Roleplay

> For RPing a NS Military .... look no further >>> here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13242837&postcount=4)
> Many nations create "factbooks" which describe their nation in detail .... take a looky > here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8864533&postcount=5)

Others use the XML feed (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi/nation=kynigstosi) of their nation to take a good guess on how the nation looks.

And others use the NSeconomy Calculator (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php?nation=Kynigstosi) and/or the Sunset EconomyCalculator (http://sunsetrpg.com/economystatistics.php?nation=Kynigstosi).

Hope those help. :)
Good Luck Playing!

Free form RP is cut back significantly if such factors are introduced, it would just turn into a pure strategy game then. There are many different ways of playing NS, if set factors are involved then those who ignore them to create more interesting RP will lose out.

Most of the stuff linked by a Unibot is good to get an understanding of how NS works but takes a while to get through. Personally I find trackers a waste of time as they are both too restrictive and lack any in-depth information.
