Hey

I guess I'm not that new to this site anymore, but I'm still a noob :p

I was just wondering, after reading many nations' factbooks, whether you need some kind of special "permission" to post factbooks/nation information/initiate or participate in RPs...? I've probably chosen the wrong forum for this question lulz, but I'd appreciate any answers.

Thanks!

Welcome to the game, most of the time you don't need to ask permission to put up your own factbook, but if you say had to fight a way with a country then yes you would have to ask

Re RPs:
If a title has "closed" or "invitation only" in it, don't try to RP in that thread.
If it has "closed, attn (Your Name)", the thread starter wants to RP with you. If you're not named but you have some connections with the thread, you can check by TG with the thread starter.
If it has "semi-open", check with the thread starter, usually by TG but sometimes just by posting an OOC query in the thread.
If it has "open" or no qualification at all, just a title, then you can dive in.
If it's your thread, you set the parameters, and there's no reason you shouldn't start your own RP thread.

Some RPers specify what level of technology is active in the thread. Respect their wishes.

If you need detailed help, look for people with "NS Trainer" in their signatures and TG them. They've volunteered to help newcomers learn to RP.

Factbooks are really just another thread, and you don't need any special permission to start a thread.

(I think what AHSCA is getting at is that, if you're writing about your nation's interaction with another nation, you should make sure you don't misrepresent the other nation.)

You might also like to start a page on NSWiki (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Main_Page), where you're bound by the usual Wiki requirements. It operates independently of NS and has its own moderators.
