Flag Size

Your flag should be:

1. in JPEG (.jpg) format
2. about 107x71 pixels in size
3. no larger than 10KB
4. appropriate. This means conforming to site etiquette and being suitably flag-like. Images likely to cause widespread offense (e.g. nudity, swastikas) are prohibited, and your nation may be deleted if you post them.

So the flag size has to be that or under, or slightly under I guess. So why is it that most flags I look at are far over that size? I mean 200x150 or so some of them! Plus others are way over 10kb in file size. Was this rule just abandonned or what? Cause I'll make my flags slightly bigger too.

Thanks.

The system really only checks number 3 on that list.

... but the mods keep an eye on #4.

Numbers 1 and 2 are still in the description, but for practical purposes you can upload a variety of picture formats. As to size, we've long since ceased enforcing the 107x71 pixels standard. Most people keep flags under 300x200. Bigger than that and we might just enforce the rules.

The 10kb limit is enforced by the system, though at slightly less than 1024x10. I believe it usually accepts anything of ~9.6kb or smaller.
