I made a nice map, anyone want to play a world simulation? Start a new region?

I'd like to start at around early 1900s technology but as long as we arn't chucking spears around, or shooting death rays I'm cool.

Basically I claim an island and a peninsula down in the bottom right corner, and I'd like a few island colonies too (think caribean), and I don't mind playing a client state to superpower (Like the UK to the US).

Commies, nazis, and jihadists are all welcome, It makes things interesting.

Oh and since your in, you wanna help me name the geography? I've already decided that the ocean on the right is the Tranquil Ocean, The one on the left (seperated by a chain of islands) is the Harmonic Ocean, and the bottom-right part of the Harmonic is the Melodic sea, and the rainforest on the equator is the Kurz Jungle

I can't draw for toffee but I would like my nation, twin dominions, correctly represented...if I put an image up of my crude map of the place would someone be able to put it on there? Preferably on the right hand side of the map...comparable to the size of Japan. I would also create a region if desired.

TwinD-From one of your other posts your an anglo-american country (like me), so you may as well be on the mainland just above me, (south east continent, the peninsula and the island running parralel). If thats cool I'll smooth over the coast and replace the existing islands (I'll probably play around with the philipines rather than doing it by hand). Or I think I could get your map out of whats already there, but then you would be a little smaller than japan (I'm a little bigger for referance), also is new lancashire supposed to have a north coast, or have you got a whole thirteen colonies thing going on?

BTW, if you share the border with me, expect a tuberculosis epidemic as a direct result of my civil war (just wait for me to publish an oral history)

New Lancashire has a northern coast. It's fine that we're smaller than Japan. I'm fine with being in the South East too....

We're kind of a small version of Canada as we have a Francophone element in the South, too!

Now to think of a region name, or will I be in the same region as yourself?

Anyways, that far north would be like, all taiga, so I'd expand a little to the south If you want to be able to grow potato or wheat, but fine as it is

Not- I'm gonna assume you mean north of the border, so I'll put in another border at the eastern apex of the one you drew, otherwise your like africa, asia and europe with everything in between (just unfair on small countries the size of russia)

Plus yeah, I guess I could help name some places, Krome Inlet borders my country, the Crews Canal could flow between my island and country, and maybe a mysterious frozen wasteland to the north can be called Coldridge? Plus again I have already meshed the maps together (and expanded my borders a bit hope you don't mind). I've also drew up the borders of your country Baleana based on your description so hopefully I was close. Here is the map.

I'm pretty sure those two small islands just north of Notangians are Twin Dominions. I'm not sure though...better ask Baleana for clarity.

1-Rosterland
2-Greal, I let you have the corridor to the south coast because it just seemed natural
3-Bacsland, again, natural, but as long as you two can agree on something
4-TwinD, I've been thinking of the world as maybe 75% of earth surface area, so your roughly the size of japan, but theres plenty of room to colonise around you
5-New Kerepticka, forget what I said about the island earlier, I moved. Also ignore the border seperating it, I just couldn't be asked to undo and redraw all the borders I did after that
6-On second thought I should have given you the peninsula to the west etc
7-I moved my island colonies and took a little mainland if noone minds, but then I seem to have ended up with the best part of a continent according to some, so I guess theres no harm done

I havent notised any claims for that teritory. So it's agreed?

I see none, only division of Bascland in to separate parts. But that not a big problem

My opinion- let's wait. Consider them autochtones inhabitet area or something, new nacions will come at time ( if only we will make this place interesting to live ).
And 1 question- as for author of map. Approximately haw big theritory of Notangia (km2 )

I'd say about 8,900,000km2 (based on comparisons of real world nations)

Balleanna proper is about 477,593 (good korea + japan basically)

OK, what area of Principality in black map you want to claim, and who will hold it and who will be one, considering, that part of they fatherland is under occupation?
One more idea- let's make it independet state ( like Real World Dancig in pre- WWII, or Memel 1919- 1923, with +/- 50/50 percentage of yours and mine nations living here and trie to win political power in that "state".

Go down a bit after a vicous civil war and an epidemic, then go up over the century to about 175,914K with immigration and a lebensborn-esque govornment program.

I'd have Twin Dominions as an equivalent to Honduras so around 505,000.

Well 3,342K (american billion I assume) would make you like Canada, except with only one city. Actually according to wikipedia Tokyo is 32,450K, New York is 19,750K, So I'd make something up

Well, if majority is for chosing populations number, in my opinion, we better do it faire for all.
My proposion: index of population per km2.
For egzample. Netherlands population (1907 ) was 5,616,000. Land area: 33,883 km² (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_the_Netherlands#Statistics). So index is 165,7468.... (166 ).
So we only need to deside what index for this world is, and by large of state we will get starting number of populiation.
Thats at least faire- you chosed yours state territory and yours populiation depends on that.

Its true, but no ones forbidden to begin a demografical explosion, whenewer you want to:D.
( OCC: Not recomendet to smaller states- if you have a huge poulation density, while yours neiber much lower, yours citisens will illegaly emigrate there )
My idea is simple to make start position as faire as possible

Not necessarily true, how many Jakartans move to indochina? Or for a more even (but less drastic example) how many americans move to canada. I just don't wan't to get to anal about numbers, I'd rather turn a blind eye to migration numbers until it's actually used for something, and even then it doesn't need to be too accurate, just believable

Oh yeah, and what's the tech level exactlty, I was thinking bolt-action rifle, maxim style machine guns, coal fired ships, whale oil lanterns, railways, aircraft are experimental technology (I'm gonna go with zeppelins until like WW2 era), revolvers, basically late steampunk (did I mention how I wanna use zeppelins as gunships, like a WW1 AH64)

Its always depends on diferent circumstantes ( that’s goes for all historical events ). F. e. USA have an industry and agroculture level to support populacion, but usualy large populiation means big problems ( f. e. China ). Problems= emigration ( in to Siberia ).
And for tech. It was on my mind for a time. Whats why I join this map- beginning of XX a.time period I know better than all. You said „as long as we arn't chucking spears around, or shooting death rays I'm cool“.
Will you axept time period till, lets say, 1940- till then all main tech’s was created, exept A- bom, but we don’t want this ( if they play pre- WWII, Enola needs onlly few guy’s to total victory ).
If that’s a problem, leats at least use interwar technologies ( I want armoured wehicles- tankettes and armoured cars as minimum ).
P.S. Zeppelins are interesting idea but really egzotix- you see ( and one more thing, I just interested, don’t answer if you don’t want to- are you from USA or GB ) Zeppelins during WWI made a huge psychological impact, but werry insignificant military. They was some kind of treath till proper defence was developed, but- they are slow, depend ond wind, and they are flexible.

In terms of tech, I'm happy with 1930's early 1940's to start with, but I'd like a slow progression in tech eventually ending up in a cyberpunk world or whatever. As for nukes, limited kiloton range nuclear wars are fine, but there will be hell to pay if anyone decides to rub my map off the map. In terms of armoured vehicles, I was gonna start with armoured trains and railway guns, but that's just for my civil war story, if we start in the mid 1900s I'll bump up the timeline to the conclusion of the conflict, when trains are replaced with tanks, airships with airoplanes etc

Also I'm in London GB, and theres more to zeppelins than bombers, for example the USA had a few airships in the interwar period that would air-launch planes like a flying carrier. (they could land on the airships as well).

Well, armored trains was used and in WWII. Not so much, mostly for defence ( first in mind - Leningrad ), so do not delete them from yours army if we will began on 1940's. If you will be attact, put some heavy cannons ( heaviests you have ) on them, and they will became a wery strong part defence.

Slow as much as its possible, and more, stop it at all, if it's possible ( thats my position:tongue::tongue::tongue: ).
But TwD, Greal, Bacsland probably also have opinion on topics of nuclear welfare, start position etc.

Well, we can now. It's only need someone to write first RP. Personaly I in this moment have few ideas, but I still need to work on them.
