I'm a writer, and so I was thinking that after I finish my role-playing series called Empires, I will write a guide on how to role-play Nationstates and Nationstates 2 (which will be in full open by the time I finish, I HOPE!). This guide will be much more in-depth then the Compass to International Incidents. I just wanted to know what all of you thought about my little plan. Now, feel free to yell at me  .

I kick ass at Nationstates. I have a Level 57 Warlock.

Haha, that was pretty funny. But anyhow, if you guys want to see a sample of some of my work, here's the Introduction to the original Empires book(not that it's even finished yet.)

Chapter I: Introduction

Role-playing is the art of using one's imagination to create a storyline, following a loose set of rules. Several role-playing games already have rules and weapons outlined for you, to save you the trouble of creating your own, which as I personally know, can take days, even months to complete a good set. So, this is Empires, a role-playing game set in the ancient era. It is up to the GM (Game Master) to decide how he/she wants to play the game using the tools in this book, however, as a basic guideline, remember to give people a choice in the matter. Allow them to make decisions for their character almost every time the character makes a decision. You can however, see if a plan they made works with a die, or some other form of random generation. I hope you enjoy my little game, it didn't take me too long to think up, but it should (hopefully) give you hours and hours of great games. As one final note, when you play a game, don't forget to write down a basic outline of where everyone was when you stop, so you can continue the game until everybody has finished their goal. I first came across role-playing one night in Apopka, FL. My brother had been invited to play in a game of Star-Wars role-playing. He came home and told me all these great stories, and I loved it so much, I decided to try and find my own. I eventually just played a little on my own, without even dice. Next, I bought some dice and about forty counter-stones. I couldn't find anyone to play with, so, I played role-plays by myself. To this day I have never played a full role-play with other people.

Please note that due to the lack of formatting and HTML code in this post, this is only the text, not how it will appear in the book.

Well, the first step if you serious about writing a book about NS and NS2 would be to write to Max and probably Omac.

I knowesh, I was planning to do that once I got to the final chapter of my current book. But, I did this first to see if I got all hate messages, all random messages, or all good messages, to see how in-depth I would write it(If I wrote it at all.)

I have never really played role-playing games before......what tips or advice can you give me for role-playing in nationstates? What are its practical uses or consequences?

Read this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=406680) and then come back with some meaningful questions.

Yesh, I suggest that thread be read, it has goodesh basics. Mine will be more in-depth, so that people like Canedian Army are prevented. (As in, they follow the basics, but their style gives people headaches.) Oh, and Max wrote me back, he said I could use the word Nationstates and Nationstates 2 if I acknowledge.

... I'll let you in on a little secret. No amount of writing; good, bad, or indifferent; will prevent bad roleplayers from appearing on our forums. No matter how well written something may be, it doesn't do any good unless your target reads and comprehends it.

The problem isn't lack of material, it's inability to pay attention to good advice. We can't even get people to read that most basic of documents, the NS FAQ (http://www.nationstates.net/page=faq). Unless you've also got a magic wand in there somewhere, it ain't gonna happen.

If you have any questions about the thread I made, or anything else about roleplaying here in general, feel free to send me a telegram in-game.

Yeah, I figured that, but it's a possibility, I was actually hoping it would bring new players aboard at first.
