Platnoic Solidity

With the founding of the Dominion of Platonic Solidity, I hope to accurately recreate the world of Dungeons and Dragons, or medieval Europe, if you will. I'm trying to decide how to best go about this: it would quite obviously not be a democracy, but beyond that, would it be more of a dictatorship or an anarchy? Corporations clearly are not in power, but the free market is strong. Religious tolerance is spotty at best, but a great variety of religious practices abound. How would this best be illustrated?
I've already screwed up by disallowing corporate favoritism, which turned my nation into some sort of business-hating entity. I imagine I'll have to reverse this position through my further actions and somehow clarify that small businesses can thrive, but there is not enough stability (or a sufficient infrastructure) for corporate economics in a medieval setting. Any suggestions on how to fine-tune all of this?
