Tourism?

Quintessence of Dust

Has there always been a 'Tourism' industry? I noticed it was one of my nation's Major Industries, but I'd never seen it before. Has anyone else seen this, or do you think it's a new addition to the game?

I believe Tourism went in... er... a month(?) ago when Siro went over the issues again. So, yes, reasonably new.

For some countries it definitely is an 'industry' as their entire economies can be centered around it. Take Belize as an example, aside from its agricultural sector, tourism plays an incredibly important role in their economy.

Oh okay, your right then, sorry.

Couldn't New York be considered as tourism then?

I would think Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and other such nations (or even Hawaii as a state) would consider Tourism their prime Industry.

Case-in-Point, the Dutch island of St.Maarten / St.Martin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Martin). 85,000 residents with over 1,000,000 tourists a year sounds like a pretty good indicator that Tourism is their main industry.

I put the new tourism industry into NationStates about a month ago. It's a very important industry in the world, and it should open the way for lots of new issues and also make players look at old ones in a new light.

I hope everyone likes this addition.
