Today, June 5th, 2008 something pretty interesting happened in Rome.

Thanks to Saruna II for pointing this out:

The first 6 nations in Rome ranked by tax rate are also ranked consecutively from 6,588th to 6,593rd

Has anyone seen anything similar to this happen before?

What?

Endoflame actually plays the game. Now pay attention:

Every day all of the nations of NationStates are ranked by a certain factor. Today, apparently, they were ranked by tax rate. Endoflame's region, Rome I'm assuming, contains nations. The top six of these nations were ranked consecutively from 6,588th to 6,593rd in the world rankings.

Quite interesting, actually, and no I've never seen anything like it. Granted, I don't go looking for things like it, but weird none-the-less.

Ah, thanks for explaining. I was about to think that he was talking about Rome Rome, Italy. I wasn´t paying attention to the fact that this poster might have been playing the NS game.:p

I'm not quite sure you can win NationStates, although I think Frisbeeteria has come close :p

anyhow...has anyone else seen this? I wonder if those 6 nations all were created on the same day and all voted the same way on issues.

/too lazy to check them

Actually I think you will find this is true on most/all regions where everyone has a 100% tax rate. I guess the game just went through by region and gave all the 100%'ers descending ranks.

At least that's how it turned out in my region, and yours.

Yeah, happens all the time in our region. The nations are completely unrelated besides being in the same region, so I don't know why exactly the game does that.

More importantly, though: this thread goes into the Gameplay Forum (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1234). Usually yields way more on-topic replies, too. Maybe a moderator will move it for you.

But how does it do it for other things that are not mentioned in the description like the tax rate?

Apparently it goes thru the World region by region, and it's lazy :p

Not quite relevant, but it's kind of scary that over 6,000 nations (including mine) have a 100% tax rate!

Thanks. I do my best. :P

Going through the world region by region would make sense. And yeah, more than 6500 nations w/ 100% taxation is sorta scarey, except when you put it in context of the number of nations. Then it doesn't look so bad
