Hi y'all!

So, I'm new to this game. Things have been pretty good so far, but there is a lot of things I'm still not really understanding. So if someone could give me a nice lil' overview that would excelllllent.

P.S. Please, come check me out! I love new friends!:D

First up -- you're not going nuts, I merged your threads.

So. The game is in two parts, the nationstates.net site and the forums (where this is). The nationstates.net site, where you see your nation, is the actual game, where you make choices that change your nation's statistics. The forums are where you roleplay, which fleshes out the way people see your nation (NationStates and International Incidents); write international laws and watch diplomats get drunk in the bar (the WA); or talk to other players (General).

There are threads stickied at the top of each forum that give you good advice about that particular forum. Please read them. If you read nothing else, read this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023) for what not to do.

This (http://www.safalra.com/other/nationstates/) has detailed stuff explained simply, mostly about the WA.

For the nationstates.net side, there's a "tutorial" on FaceBook and an article in Wikipedia you can search for. Just Google NationStates.

This (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/misc.php?do=bbcode) gives you ways to handle your posts, such as how to hotlink or list.

These guys (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=545309&page=19) have said they will help people roleplay on II.

Mostly it's just a matter of politeness. You needn't wait for invites. You can move straight to another region, if it's not passworded, or you can TG its Delegate or Founder to ask permission. You can jump into roleplay threads when they're starting, or into General threads at any stage.

If you lurk a while, you'll learn what each forum seems to expect of players. Have fun.
