Forgive me if this has aready been discussed, but I couldn't find the details in the FAQ section or in this forum. What are the possible categories of Regional Influence, and how are they determined? If this is already someplace on the Forums, please help direct me to the location. Thanks!

Click here (http://www.safalra.com/other/nationstates/influence/) for some speculation.

This takes you to Safalra's website. It's got a lot of other useful info, too.

Please note, though, that it's not official. Those rankings are ones the long-time player Safalra has compiled. Nobody official has (or will) confirm them. Other players may have other theories, they just haven't set them out as accessibly.

**SPECULATION**

It's been puzzling me, so I've been looking into it (reading what others have said on the forums, Sirocco's Blog and watching what's happening in regions).

First, a nation accrues influence depending on how long it has been in it's region.
Second, the influence classification is tied to the region (it doesn't transfer with you if you move regions).
Third, the size of the region is very important to the calculation (possibly more important than the length of time a nation has resided there).
Fourth, even assuming that Safalra’s rankings are correct, you don't advance up the list one by one (my advancement has been minnow - hermit - dominator - hegemony) - it seems to be more about a nation's share of the available influence rather than a strict numerical quantity.

'Hermit' seems to be special. Safalra’s guide puts it top, but it seems to come into play when the highest influence is also the lowest (as you might find in a single nation region)

I think that founders gain influence quicker than others (not sure yet).

Hope this helps. Feel free to correct me where you know I'm wrong. :)
