Feeder Newspaper Proposal

Please read this proposal and think it over, and let me know if you would support this project and/or would like to participate.

General
The feeder newspaper would be running AT LEAST feeder governmental interviews and war reports. Further sections would be open to debate by the general public. One reporter would cover each feeder.

Conditions
The governmental interviews could be conducted by anyone within any region. The war reports, however, could only be written by those outside of the warring regions, to prevent bias.

Ideal
The feeder newspaper would be an impartial source of information, without fear or favour. It would be available for all to read in the General forums, and also possibly the feeder region forums.

Problems
Given the nature of NationStates, some sections normally residing in newspapers cannot be written (e.g., weather, non-government interviews, etc.).

However, I believe this is compensated for by the fact that a large number of nations reside in the feeders, and a centralised information source could be useful.

Misc.
I believe the most practical schedule for the publication of such a news source would be a monthly report. Information would be collected and updated before the publication of each issue as needs demanded (for example, only the latest foreign report would be published in each issue). To solve this problem, one could store the foreign reports in a .zip file and provide a link to it in one section of the newspaper.

Finally,
please let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome.

General is for discussion and debate, Kostemetsia. Your feeder newspaper would probably go in International Incidents, as it would concern roleplayed events and would cross regional boundaries.

However, Gameplay's a suitable place for in-game advertisements, so I've shifted your initial advertising post here.

I'd suggest you check the feeders' offsites to see if any such publications already exist for each region.

If it gets off the ground, you could put a link to it in your sig that would serve to advertise it when you posted in General.

Thanks for your confidence :p

I've done what you said, and let the feeders know of the existence of this project. Sorry for the inconvenience caused :(

With my limited Nationstates experience, I'd say this sounds like a good idea. My only criticism at the moment is that you might want to open up the war reports to sources involved. War threads on International Incidents can grow pretty long, and to those not involved, they can be tedious to wade through.

Just curious, how might this be formatted?

Brutland and Norden: TY for the support :D

South Thasland: How do you mean formatted? If you are talking about the means of presentation, I'm thinking either entirely imaged (cf. the Herald, Great Britain and Ireland's foreign report - a sample can be found here (http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/783/herald31sz4.png)) or entirely textual, like the proposal.

I think they're asking if it will be on a website, a blog site, etc. Which is something I'd also like to know.

No, it won't be on a blog or website unless we become spectacularly successful overnight - and even if that happens, only for archiving purposes. I'm thinking of a more forum-centred approach - have the reporters in question post the newspaper on their regional forums.

If you make it, I'll post links on in my region. This sounds pretty decent. All you need are some stories...

I want to be a reporter! searching for news and then tell the news!
maybe regional news for my region!

Herrebrugh,
As it stands, you would not be able to do news for Brotherhood of NOD. The news would only be for the seven feeder regions (The Pacific, The North Pacific, The East Pacific, The West Pacific, The South Pacific, Lazarus, The Rejected Realms).
