Competition: Seapower for the Commonwealth pt1

The Commonwealth of Terra Aurora invites all reputable Maritime and Aeronautical firms to submit designs for the following requirements to the Office of Maritime Defense.

The competition will be in 3 phases, each lasting 1 year (ooc: for this competition, 1 day will be equal to 3 months).
Phase 1: submission of existing designs or functional prototypes.

Phase 2: evaluation of designs, selection of finalists, and appropriations for further development.

Phase 3: formal selection of winning designs, and finalization of production details.


PHASE 1
The Maritime Defense Force has need for the following:

o Long Range Marine Patrol Aircraft
+ USD $41 million unit base cost
= search radar
= forward looking infra-red camera
= two weapons hardpoints rated at 120 kg (small diameter bombs and self-defense air-to-air missiles)
+ range of 5,500 nautical miles, maximum speed of Mach 0.9, ceiling of 51,000 feet

o Long Range Operations Aircraft
+ USD $55 million unit cost
+ requirement for 3 sections:
= aerial command post : six personnel
= passengers plane : seating for twenty-eight transients
= air ambulance : four stretcher bunk bays with two medical attendants
+ additional four stretcher bunk bays with two attendants
+ range of 6,000 nautical miles

o Tilt-Rotor Aircraft
+ USD $18 million unit base cost
= search radar
= forward looking infra-red camera
= dipping sonar
+ primary missions
= inshore surveillance
= SAR and air ambulance
= aerial EEZ intervention
+ carries six passengers
+ range of 1,000 nautical miles (return mission range 350-400 nm), cruise speed of 250 knots

o Offshore Patrol Vessel
+ USD $90 million unit cost (excluding aircraft)
+ displacement 1,500 tons
+ ability to tow 100,000 tons
+ support for one medium helicopter or tilt-rotor aircraft
+ one dual purpose gun mount (preferred caliber between 40mm and 76mm)
