Deadalus-region

The Daedalus-Region is looking for new members. We are a scifi-themed region with currently only two members. We have a regional forum where each nation can have their own subforum for newspapers, maps, army threads, you name it! We got a functional senate and since we're still low on members, you can be an important part of our new region.

As previously stated, we're an scifi themed region, so the roleplaying is usually that as well. That means you will encounter alien races, colonize space and build a mighty space armada. Every nation starts on planet Earth, where you can grab your own plot of land. (We are still working on the map at the moment.)

So we are looking for guys and girls interested in scifi and who would like to have loads of fun roleplaying.

do i have to create a new nation and move it into the region or can i just register on the forum under a new name? how do we choose map plots?

Hi

You don't necessary have to, but we encourage it. Or then just create a random nation an move it in Daedalus, you can use a different name on the forum. We are also planning to ignore the NS populations of our nations, since it would be hard for a new nation with a 20 million or so to join a region with gigantic nations of 3 billion.

Map plots will be handled on our regional forum. When you're registered there, go to the nations subforum and there you'll find the cartography office thread.

Hmm, had a look, and I am interested. Does the UEF act as a world government, with all that party and supreme court stuff, or is that all OOC?

The UEF is a lose affiliation of the nations that fought together during against the Wraith. As for the party and supreme court, it's part of the region so it's still IC.

But as Fennicum said, we still unsure if either continue with the existing RP's or start all over.

Folks, the regional ad stuff is fair enough, but don't turn this into the OOC thread for your roleplay.

For future reference, if roleplay's one of your region's attractions, you could write a teaser the way the PR people do to advertise books. A three-liner summary or the first sentence of the intro should do, then just put "Read More" with a link to the RP.

Running a newspaper/TV report on regional happenings works, too.

The RP has started. What has happened this far:

By coincidence, multiple space faring nations bump at each other on the orbit of a planet that is later named Daedalus. They establish diplomatic relations and agree to reserve the lanet Daedalus for diplomatic purposes, hence, every one of these space faring nations is given a plot of land to represent their nation there. They also agree to hold a high level negotiation on the planet with their leaders present, since the first contact was just between some of their fleet officials. Nations set down on the planet and begin building up their outposts. A nation's ship however crashes strangely on the planet. Could it be because of the strange substance it was carrying?

Meantime, planet Estrall, shared by one of the space faring nations, Sayjentela and four other nations, goes at war. It's the four nations versus Sayjentela. Sayjentela can rely on it's superior technology, but how long? Maybe the other space faring nations can help?

We have great scifi-rps going on, so if you are interested even a bit, join! We have now 10 registered members on our forum. In the rp, we are following a main plot line which evolves as the game progresses. We have multiple subplots going on and all members are ree to create a new sub-plot if they have a good idea for an rp.

So if you join now, the starting situation is the following. You will start from a system of your own and then start exploring and colonizing the galaxy. Then you can get a plot of land from the planet Daedalus and join the Galactic society.

Does Daedalus interact at all with the general NS reality?

Not really, we're heavily focusing on regional RP on our forum. Those of us who have nations in ns too, rp them similarily on the forum. For example my nation is a ultra-capitalistic country and same on the forum too. So basically there's no need to have an ns nation, just register on the forum and create a nation there.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

The fate of the galactica alliance hangs in the balance as an enormous threat lurks at the outskirts of our galaxy. The Tarkans, the barbaric, nomadic aliens who live there have been alerted of our presence and their eyes are now set on the civilized peoples of the Galactic Alliance. Their attempt to conquer one of the Federation's planets failed before. This time, they wouldn't fail. This time, their victory would be complete. Will you join the Galactic Alliance and help to maintain order in this galaxy on will you join the barbaric Tarkans and reap the fruits of their all-out invasion? It is simply up to you to decide.

The event starts this friday, 9.5.08, but you can join in after the start too.

Update:

The Tarkan Invasion is progressing. The Galactic Republic of Sayjentela has succesfully defended intself from an Tarkan Migrationfleet, but at the cost of a entire planet.

Meanwhile, The United Federation of Fennicum has been transformed into the Galactic Empire of Fennicum after a civil war. It is now ready to once again face the enemy. It has already made contact with it's long-time, the Galactic Republic of Sayjentela.

Now Fennicum and Sayjentela are planning to retake Cadia, but they have taken heavy losses during the course of the war. The longer they wait, the more time the Tarkans and their allies have to regroup and continue their invasion. But they have a secret weapon, a special taskforce has been created to gain intell on the enemy and to disrupt their supply routes.

After the conquest of Cadia, the Cildren of Cain have started an experiment in the ice caps of Cadia's northpole. What they will learn is still unknown, but it could change the cours of the war, or has it's leader, Aliestor different plans.

The Kingdom of Icelestan has come into contact with a unknown race after a small conflict in orbit around Cadia. Who are these new commers and what are their intentions? The Icelestans want to find out, because these newcommers might be a new ally, which could change the war in their favour.

The war is far from over and it can go in any direction. Will the Galactic Alliance, who are defending their homes, or the Tarkan Alliance, who only care about conquest, win this war? A question that is still unanswered. But you might be able to set the next course of the war.
