I'm new here and trying to find out how to set up a website for my nation where I can keep facts and figures, records of proclamations, and information for tourists. I am new to role-playing; please bear with me. The country I wish to design is small, not-warlike (but desirous of buying military hardware for protection from potentially hostile nations), with products made from honey and wax to see (at least right now). Mentally I've figured out a map of my country. a flag, and other items- but I'm still not quite sure of how to bring all of this into being. I'm also curious about how to set up an exchange rate between my nation and others. Sorry to sound so helpless, but I suppose we all have to start somewhere.

Well for starters, i would read some of the stickies in the different forums
Anyways here's a good site for facts, figures, culture, history, and all sorts of little info about your nation

If you want to enter the RP scene on International Incidents then a good way to get started is to set up an embassy exchange. It can help find some friendly nations or ones that have similar interests. Heres a few good examples:
Aunesian Embassy Exchange (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=513426)
British Londinium Embassy Exchange (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=510807)
Shazbotdom Embassy Exchange (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=533758)
or check out mine, which is located in my signature

OOC:
Thanks muchly. I've been doing just those things, but the economics question is one for which I haven't found an answer. I just want to know if there is any defined exchange rate, or if we make it up as we go along.
