I am basing my country off of the real San Marino and I am doing an incredibly good job at it so far. Is your country based off of a real country? If so post which one.

Most people here run their countries according to their political beliefs or to see what will happen. Often though, some parts of the country are usually based on things from RL countries.

Not in the slightest. I doubt Swilatia compares with any RL countries.

Cookesland is heavily based on RL America in government and a lot of other things, but there are quite a few things that are unique to Cookesland

The only thing RL about my country is the geography of the island its on, and even that's altered since I enlarged the island several hundred times.

Thats cool. My country so far is matching the real country a bit. Tax rates might be slightly off, but still.

Ssipsonia was originally going to be a Spain clone, but I decided to move it to Japan in RPs. Mottslims were going to be a parody on Muslims, but I decided to make them the general ethnic group that inhabits either the Sacred Ssips States, Kingdom of Ssipsonia or the Mottslim Empire.

Hello- I'm new here.
I'm basing my country in part on Elizabethan England (small but hopefully growing power, ruler with supreme power guided by a parliament), with a bit of the pre-WWI Baltic (real and fictional) and real-life small nations thrown in- Luxembourg, San Marino, and so on.

Dra-pol initially was not based upon any existing nation, but took a few cues from Democratic Kampuchea and late Imperial Japan. Now, in the A Modern World group, it occupies Korean geography and essentially replaces the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with the even-more-extreme Choson People's Republic of Dra-pol. Again it's not an attempt to clone the DPRK, but many aspects of the nation are influenced by Pyongyang's antics.

Real life countries want to be my country to be honest.
Mind you the map is just a load of central European countries stuck together buts that because editing a map of Europe was easier than making a completely new one.

Bettia is roughly based on what England & Wales would be like if they were run as a liberal islamic republic, with a few wierd bits thrown in for good measure.

On the other hand, Northern Bettia (my main puppet) is just plain evil. :D

I am having a hard time finding the name of San Marino's national animal. I know it is an eagle, but I can't seem to find the full name. Does anyone know or have any information to contribute?

Actually basing mine off the Republic of Ireland, yet engaged in a conflict with Northern Barbeques. Of course, I want to come out unified and stronger than ever :P

Not Really. my geography is based off of the U.S., but It's a bit different. What would be the Great Plains is forest land, there's no Florida, several more mountain ranges, and Kirav extends into what would be Western Canada.

My culture doesn't fit in with any nation at all though.

My country is mostly based a little on my political beliefs, but frankly I'm just doing this for fun.

Rejistania used to be based on West-Samoa and Brazil, but meh, over the course of the RP, a completely new culture, history and association of free nations developed from it.

My nation is based on a mixture of Manchuria (which does not exist anymore), and the Golden Horde, which also does not exist anymore, but is also influenced by Russia, Israel, Scandinavia, and Japan.

Much of the lands and all of the pride of the Roman Empire, mixed with the masses and grit of the Russians, topped off with the brutal efficiency of Nazi Germany(without the killing the Jews part).

Bazalonia is certainly heavily influenced by Australlia... Though it is certainly is it's own nation too in other respects.

Maraque is based off no real life country. It's culture and geography, nothing about it is real life related.

Errinundera is geographically, meteorologically, botanically and zoologically based on East Gippsland in SE Australia, but scaled up many times in size. The RL Errinundra (note spelling difference) Plateau is in the northern part of East Gipplsand.

It's people, politics and economy are my own invention.

My Empire is heavily based on the Romans around the time of Hadrian but a Christianized one. It also has certain British Empire traits though.

My government structure is based off that of the United States, just because I'm unoriginal; the political climate is something like Palestine: erratic, violent and unpredictable; the people's political leanings and cultural diversions mostly mirror that of "Jesusland (http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~craft/bush/canada_jesusland.jpg)"; the disposition of its political leaders is kind of like some especially crude and psychotic Banana Republic.

Cobdenia is based on a slightly mad version of 1930's British India, but with several unique things (such as the fact it's independent but doesn't want to be and, of course, it's in a friggen time warp)

Normally i am a socialist person but i am trying to create a religious-dictatorship country and i am trying to be a pharaoh of this country.

My nation is basically a libertarian paradise. I'm working on it still, but I wanted to make one because I think libertarianism is stupid and thought it would be amusing.

Mine is a mixture between the US Government and Cuba. I like the whole democracy thing but also socialism. :cool:

Mine is a mix of Roman Empire, Germany in WWII, and todays UK.

Mine's a mixture between Germany(WWII) a Military totalaritian(or however u spell it) state, and a fictional planet from WarHammer 40,000(now a country) I'm becoming one evil SOB Muahahahahahahaha! all shall kneel before before me!(actually, The Emperor of mankind) for whom I serve.

I run my country according to my own warpped political beliefs.

I wouldn't say my main nationstate (or its puppet) are based on any real-life countries. If anything, they're based on two different methods the Romans could have employed to oppress the provinces. One is based on kindness and respect for tradition. The other is basically under-my-thumb-oppressed with basically no economy or freedoms.
Then again, I created it today. There's still time for me to change my mind. :)

The name "Wilhelmar" is made up, but my Capital City is San Francisco, CA and my country's geography is based off of the western United States, plus part of the Caribbean.

i have a ton of countries and all of them imply a certain type of political belief system, some are based on real life ones, like one is the ussr, one is north korea, one is america, one is the UK, one is WWII germany, and others are fake like the galactic empire from star wars, ect

My original nation, Romanar, ended up with many of the things people gripe about in the RL USA, and like NS, it's exagerated (I hope). Corporate control of government, greed, govt incompetence. Heck, it's former President was an evil mastermind AND a tool for more powerful evil interests (who say one can't be both? ;) )

South Romanar, born in a civil war against Romanar's excesses, is the opposite; very left-wing and anti-corporate.

My country, as I RP it, is basically the earliest real civilization portrayed how I see them if they had managed to survive this long. So instead of completely fading away 5000 years ago, it's a more militaristic state that has expanded and works on my own crazy governmental theories. Additionally I RP a large minority within my nation of the Taino native americans, and how I believe they might have turned out if instead of the Spanish, they met Sumerians in the late 1400s. There's also pre-Islamic Arabs in a signifigant minority.

So generally speaking, yes it's after a real country. If you can apply the term of country to a time when royalty was a despotic manner, cities were the largest form of governed area, and writing was just being invented.

Grasaland itself is based on a Scandinavian Ladnscape, The Military Structure of the UK, Military Equipment of UK, Europe & America, Political system of Norway and UK, Swedish Monarchy, German Emergency Services, British, French & German transport system. Confusing !

I am not an RP er, I am not that creative in that sense of the word, I still like to do some short RPS from time to time in my own unique style if I can call it an RP.

I have a very short story for Havaii with a World Factbook entry coming up in the near future, I like mostly real world nations based RPS.

Please no more Factbooks with ages 01 to 25 %. 14 to 65 %,
I break my down like 01 to 05, 06 to 10, 50 to 55 %, etc, etc, etc.
