Improvising United Nation

hey,

i feel that United Nation is really a big part of Nation States. There are so mnay things going around in UN and it is quite messy trying to keep up.

i'm suggesting that in the UN page, other then UN resolutions and past proposals, have a page for departments/comissions set up by the UN resolutions so as to allow new proposals to be able to seek assistance from respective departments/comissions, instead of frequenct setting up of comissions that overlap or intercept each other job scope.

Seeking assistance from UN commissions can be roleplayed in one of the RP forums. I doubt the gamecoders would want to change the game so dramatically.

For reference, here is a list of all applicable UN committees/commissions:
Jolt: forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=492478
NSwiki: ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/UN_Committees

If you really want to immerse yourself in the UN (despite the presence of those Kennyite rogues and my own actively criminal delegate) you might find this (http://s3.invisionfree.com/UN_Organizations) useful, too.

Does the forum affects things that are happening in NS? And the activeness of the forum is since 2006! =C

Its not RP. Its that when someone want to draft a proposal, it is difficult to find out whether it overlaps the work scope existing commissions that are setted up as they are not consolidated, unlike the resolutions.

Well, now you have your lists, and you can see for yourself the areas where the UN has already created commissions.

It's an offsite forum. Nothing on any offsite forum affects the coded part of the game: if you roleplay on an offsite that your nation has plague, or has suffered an earthquake or been invaded, it won't make any difference to your nation's category or population. (It won't make any difference if you roleplay it on Jolt, either.)

But the things that people do on the offsites can affect the roleplayed events in NS (such as getting together to work out a UN proposal or repeal, or oppose it; one region's army deciding to invade another region; and so on.)

If, say, people decided on an offsite to organise a telegram campaign in favour of a UN proposal that was up for vote, and the vote went their way, then the successful resolution itself would affect every UN member nation's game statistics. So the offsite could affect the coded part of the game indirectly.

If players decide to invade another region, it can be done as roleplay or as gameplay. Nations move into a given region and endorse one of their own, unseating the region's original delegate. There used to be complicated rules for this, but it all changed with the introduction of Influence. Check it out on NS Wiki (http//ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) or here (http://www.nationstates.net/pages/influence.html).

As for the UN Organizations site -- I've noticed two 2007 posts there, and, while one is legit, the other's advertising generic Viagra. I'll let one of its admins know. My reason for pointing you to it was the links it gathered in one place.

I assume you mean "improving"?

Although, improvising would certainly be amusing too. "Okay, Dicey and Dr. Hotz will be playing a couple in this skit, with Amanda Benson acting as the pet shop clerk... ready? Go!"

*speculates evilly on what event made Mme Vermithrax give Dr Hodz the nickname "Dr Hotz"*

I'm sure it's just her crappy memory... she is several thousand years old, after all. >_>

Dr. Hodz was unfazed by the mutilation of his last name*.

"Fine with me. I'm good at acting**!" he announced.

*My RL last name gets butchered a lot. I don't really notice.

**he said ironically. <insert author's laughter>

Richard York enters and walks up to the Pet Shop counter

"Hello Miss, I wish to complain about this parrot what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique."

Yeah, I know, I know, this parrot is deceased. It is an ex-parrot.

(In all fairness, the gravedig was my fault. I quoted the thread for my own nefarious purposes in the Strangers' Bar, and Dr Hottie wanted to see how he was being defamed.)

Laid to rest.
