Hi all,
I have gotten to be described as a corrupt dicatatorship in my Gruolandia country's description.
Now, if any, i made all efforts to be a dictatorship, but not a corrupt one.
How the hell does the game decide whether a dictatorship is 'corrupt' or a 'father knows best' state?
I believe I miss to understand some of the hidden feats of the game, and I'd love someone able to explain them.

That part of the classification seems to be based largely on your national government's attitudes to capitalism, corporations and so on, although supporting 'welfare state' policies also moves you to the Left. The category's name apparently assumes that any government that places serious restrictions on private enterprise does so in order to divert as much of the nation's wealth into its own members' hands, no matter how noble the principles that the people concerned claim might be, which I agree can be rather irritating: One of my own other nations is a Buddhist theocracy, whose [quite high-minded] leaders actually restrict industry/business due to environmental & anti-materialistic policies, and that gets labelled as "Corrupt" too...

Why are some countries described as "corrupt"?
I think it's called projection. That's where Person 1 accuses Person 2 of something, of which Person 1 is actually guilty, in order to protect Person 1 and prevent criticism of him. It distracts attention from the guilty party and attempts to drag everyone down to a lower moral plain, where mass murder and grand theft can be justified- on the grounds that everyone else is evil too.
In America, political influence can be bought and public contracts are constantly up for sale (to anyone prepared to deliver big, brown envelopes to certain politicians and officials). It is also clear, to the majority of people, that the United States, through its reckless and immoral actions outside North America, has made the World a much more dangerous place, over the last few years.
However, while Americans continually hurl insults at those "corrupt, ruthless dictatorships", which won't come to heel [Cuba, Venezuela, Iraq before 2003 etc etc etc], they'll never admit that the USA (or any of its allies) is bloodthirsty, corrupt or a threat to international peace and stability. A certain amount of brainwashing is involved.
