Darkeen has the best national animal ever. The hedgehog provides lots of happiness to cynical, hard-nosed population. Regrettably however, the hedgehog is almost no more in the Holy Empire of Darkeen.

Does anybody know how to give this cute little animal a second chance in a barren, inhospitable landscape?

Pick some more the enviromental options in the daily issues and soon it will be frolicking freely in your nation's many lush forests.

Shoot the bastard and find a heartier animal. :p Oh wait... you wanted to keep it... ;)

Genetic engineering can give it a protective shell and resistance to many toxins. Look into scientifically created super-hedgehogs.

Start keeping them as pets, and raising them in captivity.
(There's actually an issue that allows this...)
