The Rejected Realms

The people in Taijitu have taken it upon themselves to topple a pillar of Nationstates. They've decided that it's their duty to remove Kandarin on the eve of his 1029th day as Delegate. Truly a sad day, and disappointing to see such an action from Taijitu. I know I speak for many when I say that Kandarin is one of the best-liked long-time NS Delegates, and that we feel for him in this trying time.

What I find is completely disturbing is that the Taijituans forced their own nations into this operation by ejecting most of them out. Most honourable Taijituans seem to be simple pawns for their "enlightened" leadership, who they themselves answer the call of DEN and co.

This is not the Taijitu I know. This is a sad day for two regions, TRR and Taijitu. One lost their leader, the other lost their minds.

Doubly sad for a region that says it stands for the rights of nations to play the game as they see fit.

How does that principle sound to the dozens of UN nations who awoke this morning to find themselves in the rejected realms, taking part in an invasion they did not want to have any part in.

"You have the right to play the game as you see fit, unless we decide otherwise" does not trip so merrily off the tongue, does it?

Ah, so that's what happened.

Red Kagran (the new Del) informed us on IRC that a statement will be released tomorrow, yet looking at the endo numbers, he won't be surviving the night.

Kandarin - 208
Red Kagran - 198

*Waves to CG* Nice to see you back.

Hey Dali.

Well, Kandy is back in the delegate seat, and the invader has moved back to his region. All is back to normal. I got quite the timing, logging in my nations on the one day Kandy got overthrown. heh.

The concept was sound ... and I know its origin.

The action is said to have been undertaken to "stir up the game". It does have the potential to do that. And Kandarin can thank his lucky stars the "banvaders" didn't stay and implement their own NRRO (New Rejected Realms Order).

As a Taijitan (and one who was, without prior knowledge or approval, ejected), I am also quite angry (I've cooled down from pissed/livid). There is a motion (that is, so far, passing) to impeach our Delegate, and he has withdrawn his bid for reelection (our elections are coming up shortly). I am also a Senator of Taijitu; we were not notified. Our Delegate also hijacked our founder region. Nations that were not members of the army were thrown into this, and I apologize on behalf of Taijitu.

mass ejections constitutes griefing... and griefing is not allowed, no?

The griefing rules were changed when the update with the Influence was put into effect. The OSRS (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=416023) has the information you need on it. I'm too lazy to go look it up right now.

EDIT:
Scratch that. I looked it up anyways.

Invasion Rules
The concept of Invasion Griefing was made obsolete by the introduction of Regional Influence (http://www.nationstates.net/pages/influence.html). Other rules, such as those governing spam or the use of UN Multis, naturally remain in force.

Re: griefing

I'm also pretty sure that the Del used the founder nation to kick out everyone (he had access to it). In that case, all considerations of griefing are nil.
