Inter-regional warfare - invasion imminent, need some NationState technical advice.

Greetings all.

I am the founder of the region of Extraordinarily Evil Nations (My country being the Dominion of Scourztelvich)
We have a rival region. Background details aren't important, but basically they've decided they were going to invade the EEN and eliminate us.

I'm perfectly aware that these invasions are not only legal, but not uncommon.

I have some limited knowledge of how these works, for example I single handedly thwarted a mini-invasion today, where I sprung up and ejected/banned the treacherous invaders.

There's a bit of espionage and double-agent business going on, and I have learned of another invasion planned.

The advice I have been given is this: Allow the rival members to invade, where they will elect a UN Delegate.
After giving them some time to amass within the EEN, I should eject and ban every last one of the invaders, (who should hopefully be numerous in numbers)
Also, I was advised to gain a few UN members within the EEN. (We have been holding back on this and not joining the UN - after all, we ARE Extraordinarily Evil, and the UN would hardly support our Extraordinarily Evil plans)

Nnnoooooowww, my questions are as follows:

1. I currently have disabled UN Delegate access to regional control.
My rivals believe that despite this, they will still gain power, where either/both I will not be able to eject and ban them if they amass enough power, and/or they will still be able to eject and ban legitimate EEN members.
Is this true? With UN Delegate Access to Regional Control disabled - would they still be able to gain this kind of power, with enough endorsements and UN members?

2. Although the EEN are extraordinarily evil, and the UN would surely frown upon our extraordinary evilness, would becoming members of the UN protect, and potentially (in the long term) enable us to eliminate these rivals? Is there any real point in becoming UN members in our fight against invasion and elimination?

3. This is the biggie, which I have wondered for quite some time.
Is there some kind of technical error with the Regional Password Control?
I have passworded the EEN to prevent access from invaders. I noticed there was an option to "Show password to residents." I disabled this, as I decided it was best if no one could see the password, and only I knew it - thus REALLY protecting border control.
However, every member of the EEN can still see the password, in big red letters within the World Factbook Entry.
This has been a major cause for concern among both myself and various other members of the EEN, as we are well aware we have spies, who leak this information to our rivals, no matter how often the password is changed.

The main reason I present this information and my questions is not only because I wish to learn the inner workings of NationStates a lot more effectively, but because I have received this advice from a double-agent. A man who although assisted me in both information and misinformation, leading to the defeat of today's invasion - I cannot fully trust, for like I said, he is a double-agent. It could just be that he is attempting to gain my trust by appearing to defeat our rivals, but in the end stab the EEN in the back and bring our death upon us.

Speedy response to this thread would be much appreciated.

Yours sincerely,
The Dominion of Scourztelvich.

My rivals believe that despite this, they will still gain power, where either/both I will not be able to eject and ban them if they amass enough power, and/or they will still be able to eject and ban legitimate EEN members.Flatly untrue. The Founder is the ultimate power in a Region. If Delegate controls are turned off, they will never amass enough power to do anything. The only way controls will be turned on is if A) you turn them on or B) your Founder nation dies.

Furthermore, all regional actions are 100% free to the Founder. A founder could eject and ban thousands of nations without needing a drop of Influence. If you prefer, think of it as having infinite Influence.

2. Although the EEN are extraordinarily evil, and the UN would surely frown upon our extraordinary evilness, would becoming members of the UN protect, and potentially (in the long term) enable us to eliminate these rivals? You have an active Founder. The UN is irrelevent to defending your Region. Furthermore, the UN is a game construction. It doesn't care if you're "evil".

Ah, thank you. That's extremely helpful :)

I had a feeling that would be the case, however I just wanted to be 100% sure.

Also, do you know anything about the whole password thing I mentioned? How even if I disable that "show password to resident" option, everyone can still see it?

Furthermore, the UN is a game construction. It doesn't care if you're "evil".:( Yeah, I know it doesn't really care.. but.. but.. it's more fun to think like that :(

Did a little testing with the password.

It seems that if you apply a password that's visible, all changes to it will keep it visible. However, if you turn off the password and save that, and then set a password and uncheck the "Show password to residents" (or whatever), the password should be hidden.

Ahh, it works now. Cheers :)
