I can't stand regional influence

Now I know I'm new to the forum but I just want to say that regional influence sucks. I'm a UN Delegate in my region and the game won't let me edit my world factbook entry because I don't have enough regional influence. Say if I need to put something important in the World factbook entry and the founder is on vacation, then there's nothing I can do if I don't have enough regional influence. In my opinion, you guys should just get rid of the whole regional influence thing. It's pretty much pointless.

Just to return a favor that WZ Forums has done for so many, this thread gets my approval.

I think... you shouldn't have to use it if your founder is on vacation.

I think editing the WFE is supposed to be "free". I have no idea why you're having trouble.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. When I go into regional control, above the "Make Changes" button it says, "No Cost" but when I try to edit it, it still says I don't have enough regional influence to do that. It's weird.

At a guess, the founder may have delegate access to the world factbook turned off. Does it specifically say that you don't have enough regional influence or does it say "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave"? Even if it says you don't have enough regional influence, it could be some kind of standard message that you're getting shown in lieu of something more accurate.

If your region is passworded and you try to change the WFE, the system sometimes tries to charge you for changing the password as well. This behavior has not been consistently reported, so we don't think it's necessarily a game bug.

I remember a previous case where it turned out to be a browser setting (perhaps Javascript in Firefox) and that switching to a different browser for that particular change made the problem disappear.

Well, I am using the site in Firefox, so I'll try using it in Internet Explorer. Also, the region is password protected too.

Edit: Actually, it's not the browser. I found out the problem. I went into regional control and checked the box that said "Show password to residents." Then I was able to edit the world factbook entry.
