A visitors guide to England

The region of England has existed since the earliest days of NationStates. As befitting a region of it's age and experience, it seems appropiate to bring the region into the international stage, hence the reason for this thread dedicated to England.

England (as the name suggests) is largely populated by Britons, however, we have a broad demographic of Americans, Canadians and everywhere else you can possibly think of, so we have quite a wide range of views and beliefs, and welcome anyone from anywhere to add their own diversity into the region.

The region is notable for it’s popular entertainment thread, which is never short of a game or two for laughs. The natives are friendly and welcoming, and there is always a drink flowing at the Golden Lion Inn

Militarily, England acts classically operates as a defender region, and has operated in invasions to restore or ensure the continued delegacy where needed.

Here’s an example of what we get up to in our time. It’s the Glerican Herald, Englands finest tabloid (not just because it is the only one):

But theres more! Here’s an extract of our foreign ministry communications which we send out to embassies in other regions (which incidentally, if any region is interested in an embassy exchange, please do get in touch)

Region & Forum
Elections
- Elections are ongoing for all 4 of the cabinet positions, candidates for each position at the start of the campaign were:
Deputy Delegate: Ithania, Xenigon
Foreign Minister: Hirota, His Majesty, Britain's Empire
Minister of Defence and Intel: Youngtung
Minister of Recruitment: Glerica, Idiocracy
(Those in italics have since dropped out of the electoral campaign. In positions where only one candidate is remaining, votes of confidence are to be held).

- The electoral procedure (codified by Glerica and Ithania) was agreed as the convention for the election process. This allows the region to improve on the procedures outlined in the document before making law in the future.

- The campaigning process was completed on the 26th, and voting has since begun.

- The outgoing foreign minister, Ithania has declared her intention to retire from active life in England, to the dismay of the region as a whole. Her contributions will be missed.

Quotes
Is it Ithiachu now then instead of Ithania now? As I said no alchomohol in sight :( and sadly no dresses in sight either, just a load of sweaty men cooped up in a warship. (Ahhhh happy days  )I've never seen a Catholic Mass have a topic though. Oh, I've seen thousands of intentions, feasts, memorials, and solemnities, but never a topic. Wierd. Now, I'm trying to decide if that's just a quirk of British English or if that's what the Church gets when there's a discontinuity of a couple hundred years. No prob, Id. I'm not the total arse some would make me out to be, y'know.

The Junior Glerican Games begin! Registration has begun for the most popular sports event of the year, but this time... its for kids! Taking on from the success of the Glerican Games earlier this year, the Glerican Sports Association have announced to run a shorter version of the game for 9-15 year olds.

The best part is that you don't need to be a nation of England to take part!
