I think that all the nations should be able to have a small map to see what it looks like. I'm not saying that the creator of the game should do all the work by himself I'm saying that people playing the game should help the creator out and send in maps they have created I'm not saying everyone has to but it would make the game more interesting don't you think? :D

To map NS, they'd have to have skills far beyond the powers of mortal man. New nations pop into existence daily, old ones die, others move around in space (like James Blish's Cities in Flight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Blish)) and some occupy entire planets, many of which are not known to humankind or are magically disguised from view.
For a desperate attempt to make some sense of this bubbling stew of creativity, check out NS Wikipedia's entry on the Multiverse (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Multiverse).
Many nations use NS Wiki to make their own nation page, often with detailed maps. The admins and sysops are kind to newcomers.

I think somebody tried that once...didn't work very well.
But a cool idea nonetheless.
I tcould work though, like one of those random map generating programs, just state is it is a country or a planet, its features, and whoopeeee and by jingo, every nation gets a map on creation. They might have it in NS2, might even make Region maps too.

My nation is just based on real world borders (I think many do that). This is how it looked in my now-dead RP thread.

My own 'home' region is currently sharing out a complete Earth (and the rest of that Solar System) between its nations, although even then many of those nations will also include substantial settlements on other (non-shared) worlds too...
