I am currently Delegate of a region with a dead Founder. Seeing as this nation doesn't exist anymore, why is it still called Founder? And how can it lose its position?

Founder nations never lose their foundership unless the region itself gets deleted.
If you want to refound your region and get someone active to be your founder, you need to have everyone leave (or kick them out), let an update happen (in which the region will be deleted), and then create the brand spanking new region .
