The Question of Economy

Well, today I have noticed that my nation's "Economy" is rated as "imploded". Although all other categories (the ones I care about) are all at "superb". So I was wondering what everyone's opinion was about whether or not I should try to save my economy. I know that economy is important but in my opinion, it doesn't come before civil rights and environmental stuff. So, is economy important enough for me to start focussing more on it? Tell me your opinion on the situation please!

If you want to try and improve your economy without harming your environment or civil rights, just carefully pick the options in issues that will improve your economy without negative side-affects.

I would point out that since your economy is imploded, you have very little chance or ever doing well in the economic rankings.

Is there a sort of, no turning back point that can be reached with the economy? And is that "Imploded"?

Even if you more greatly care about civil rights and such, you seem like you are concerned with the well being of your people. A bunch of dirt poor, starving people with a good environment and good civil rights will still live fairly miserable lives. So you probably ought to at least somewhat improve your economy for their sake.

I hadn't ever really thought about it like that...Well, I guess I will try it.

This separation of civil rights and economy is actually quite artificial anyway (thought obviously necessary for a simulation of this type). It is only in the west that we do not consider having a house and being able to feed your family as 'civil rights'. Actually I would argue that these rights are far more important that the other ones which normally appear top of the list like 'freedom of speech' etc... You can't exercise your right to go on a march if you are starving to death anyway!

I think that you should be less strict about being less strict. If your government continues to ignore economic problems, then it will fall apart with no taxes. You will then have total anarchy. That seems free to me.

Anarchy wasn't what I had in mind, but I am going now towards a bit of a better economy. It has just changed for the better (I think).
