If anyone is able to make a decent map of Swilatia based on this info, i would appreciate it.

- Swilatia is about the size of Europe (without any of russia that is)
- The country has the ocean to the north
- After that there is an island chain
- Mountains form the east border
- I have not yet decided what (if anything) marks south and west borders, but plz no flat borders like those in some US states.
- Major Swilatian cities are: Vilvek (the capital), Atlius, Barsenulia, Korswane, Serelian, Alevara, Beral, Noria, Kasiatal, Nowa Warszawa, Dislajus, Pojal, Erilas, Nitsolna, Sajela, and Ciemna Góra

City Locations
- Vilvek Some-where around the centre
- Atlius right by the moutains, somewhere south of centre
- Barsenulia, Alevara, and Noria in the south-west, forming some type of tri-city thing
- Kasiatal a small distance from the coast, in the middle west of the country
- Serelian on one of the islands
- Korswane on he coast, west of centre
- Ciemna Góra by the mountains, in the north
- Nitsolna a small distance from ciemna Góra, but furter away from the mountains
- Pojal a medium distance from Vilvek, to the South-east
- Erilas in the west, a small distance from the border, and a medium distance from the sea
- Dislajus south from Erilas, a bit furter east as well
- Sajela in the south-east

if any more info is needed, tell me what you still need to know.

Sorry for the hijack, but it would be really great if somebody would be able to jazz up my map a bit too. I have a rough paper sketch, but I'm no good with graphics software.

Please TG me if you can help, that way I won't clog Swilatia's thread up any more.

what jazz up? I don't have a map at all, because the only image program I hav is MSPain, which you really can't do jack squat with.

By jazz up, I mean just make it look nicer, more polished, less like something sribbled down in 5 mins ;)

Do you have a rough sketch your self? That might help someone like me visualise it in the way that you see it. After that, someone change some things, make it look professional, and boom there ya go.

Alconian General map of Swilatia

Unfortunatly the map generator made it sort of long and narrow so the eastern cities are fairly close together.

this is the best i've done with MS paint:

How wedded are you to that map design Cookeland?

I just happen to have generated a similar 'map' when I was working on this project...and I might do a tutorial using your map
(Since Fracas, Genesis, and MSpaint are freeware/universal)

Nice, but I have 3 questions:

1) what map generator?

2) also, not to be too much of a prick or anything, but the tri-city area should be bit closer to centre.

3) Did you have to save it as a jpeg? In MSpaint? Do you know how that can mess up a file?

Fracas/Genesis

That is a flexable design point actually...although the lake is going to get smaller

Is there a format other than jpg you would prefer? Because I actually did not save it as a jpeg from MSpaint but something with far better rendering tools into jpeg. Actually, I prefer jpegs actually because of the image compression.

a PNG, as you have compression without damage.

Updated, and a PNG

edit:
Please note that the file is has increased by 40% but that the 'loss' or corruption has apparently no noticable differenece.

The reason is that the 'render' version of jpeg that I am using from Photodraw is 'anti-aliasing' and less compression than some programs.

But I will avoid the MSpaint jpeg render as it likely is quite lousey and lossey
