My country is currently facing a serious problem. we have issues with our army, our air force, and our navy. Some yahoos think we should draft, go for researching "futuristic weaponry" or just blow it off completely and put the money to the citizens. while most countries have their strengths and weaknesses, i have seem to have hit a brick wall when it comes down to it. As a dictator of a fairly Crippled country, what should my focus be? or is it really personal preference?
To be honest, when I actually had to RP military action, and thus I really had to think about my forces, I used the US budget as an example (sadly, I cannot remember where I found it). Though I have doubts about the US education system (or it's quality) what I was interested in was the extend of importance given to military. But I wouldn't use the current data, rather I would use the ones before the war(s) against terrorism.
At that moment I also wanted to try a mixture of US-northern Europe countries budget, because my country is both rather paranoiac (meaning that it tries to have enough defense) and... rather socialist (thus it needs money for social welfare and education). But I lacked the time to pursue this, and, since I never got into an RP that actually needed those numbers, I stopped computing them.

If the country's "fairly crippled" as you say, and it getting embroiled in a war doesn't actually seem very likely, then take the tax-cuts option...
