... created my nation, and have been surfing all over trying to find out how to run my economy, etc.

I don't get it, where are the instructions on how to create your economy, run trade, and whatever? Your FAQ isn't much of a FAQ, folks.

Your economy, civil rights, political rights, and other statistics react to the choices you make in your issues. It's a no-brainer, really.

Well no, but that's why most people looking for roleplay hang out in the forums, mainly the International Incidents and NationStates. You can make your country from scratch, base your rp nation on your NS one, or base your NS one on your rp one.

The FAQ is basically the gameplay part of it, but if you read the stickies in II and Gameplay, and some of the threads the branch out to, you may find some good information.

If you are looking for something that isn't really roleplay, but you still control nations, I would go to cybernations.com...

Also, there's a site called NSwiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) that you might find interesting...

Then, too, there's the UN. You get free drinks on your first visit to the Strangers' Bar (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=310853&page=365). Or, if you're of an artistic bent, check out the UN cards (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=454487&highlight=UN+cards).

As well as that, many regions have off-site forums. Joining one helps you get to know your region-mates. The region you're in at the moment has two, apparently, which you can find by copying the addresses at the top of the regional message board, just after the description of the region.
