Hi,

I played NS some time ago, and I'm hoping to get back into the RP aspect of the game. What are some good large (but preferably non-feeder) regions where there's lots of RP opportunity?

I don't know about a good region, but try the International Incidents & NationStates forums out. (The second one is a subset of the same name)

Well you could come try the Asian Continent (http://www.nationstates.net/86079/page=display_region/region=asian_continent). We're at a constant average of 22 nations and filled with excellent RP. We're compatible with the Middle East, African Continent, European Continent, and American Continent regions, so if Asia doesn't float your boat, you could try one of those other four.

There's always the venerable old region of The Heartland. We have a board for rp'ing and a long tradition. It's a pretty laid back region - better for diplomacy and culture than war - and very fun-loving.

Lavinium's small, but we're trying to build our RPs (http://z3.invisionfree.com/Lavinium/index.php?showtopic=206). Our delegate has worked out a way to make our economies compatible (http://z3.invisionfree.com/Lavinium/index.php?showtopic=213) with both our official stats and our RPd reality. Each nation moderates its own forum (including a passworded sandbox) for threads about its history, main characters, etc, and we also RP our Senate. Wysteria is generally touted as one of the major RP regions.

I'll add an obligatory pimp for Antarctic Oasis, which depending on your definition of 'large' may not apply (it has 70 nations) but has had some fun RPs in the past. Probably more suitable for those of the slightly silly persuasion.
