Stirring up activity

Any advice on how to get people active? My region has enough warm bodies (13), but only 2 of us seem to be active. AFAICT, the others are just sitting around doing nothing but answering issues (some of them aren't even doing that).

How can I get more people active?

what kind of activity do you have in mind?

other then starting some sort of internal regeonal roll play,
which might be a pretty cool idea, if you've got a board somewhere to host it on, or maybe, i suppose, on the regeonal events space ns provides, the range of options for being "active" ns provides seems to cameroi a bit stiffling.

the only thing regeons seem to be able to do as regeons is invade each other, which as far as we're concerned, is a major load of crapola.

this is realy my one major gripe/criticisim of ns as a whole.

not that i think the whole thing should be chucked because of that. if i thought that, i wouldn't be here. but i do see this as a major area of opportunity for improvement.

much more major then details of conflict simulation that too many seem to be fixated upon.

Right now, I'm mostly just trying to build the region. I have a decent forum, a Constituion, and enough UN nations to have a delegate, if more than one of them were active. But, I don't even know if anyone except two of us, are even reading the RMB! :headbang: (sorry for the smiley, but I'm frustrated)

I have also been faced with this problem recently, but my region is doing quite well now, thanks to the help of a friend.

You might need something else to get them all involved in. For example, publish the statistics of your region on the board, talk about something non-game related, etc to break the ice. Then you might have a better chance.

Also, if you know a nation that has a lot of experience with running a region, you could ask them to help you with yours, and they just might be able to help you get off the ground.

I hope that helps.

I agree with Angel's World. On your forum, just have a sub-forum for General Talk or something. I guess that doesn't help if they don't do anything in the first place though. Perhaps you could send telegrams to everybody to participate in the forums, or at least look at them. Maybe they're the kind of NSers that come on for 30 seconds a day, answer issues, then log off. In that case, maybe you'll need to just recruit more members who will be active. (yeah, I know, recruiting sucks, but if nothing else works...)
Just out of curiosity, what's the name of your region? I'd like to have a look, maybe it'll help me come up with something, maybe it won't.
