Well this is mostly a plug, but I suggest the Asian Continent (http://www.nationstates.net/17873/page=display_region/region=asian_continent). We're a very active region and include our own off-site board and map in the World Factbook Entry.

I think that you might fit quite well in either Conservative Paradise (see the link in my sig) or Antarctic Oasis (www.nationstates.net/region=antarctic_oasis)...
Oh damn I'm all late. Well I suggest that you check out a little little region called "Rushmore".
Rushmore is my project, I want to try to create a very large region with an actual working government. So far the only people in this region are : me. So you'd be taking a big jump if you wanted to be like, first real dude in there.
