So, I made this map for my nation using paint, I made it from scratch (obviously) and using the spray paint function (equally obvious). I spent probably an hour on it at most, a good amount of that time was spent fixing a big oops I made (saved it as a .jpg which caused some weird problems) and then trying to figure out a seemingly random way to lay out my "provinces." Plus I couldn't find a nice way to really showoff what's forest, plains, and flood plains that made it completely obvious, in the end I got lazy on and decided to make most of my nation relatively flat plains. I plan to add province names, cities and military bases soon enough, but I wanted to get some input from other people first.

Brown is mountains, green with light green mixed in is flood plain, blue is water, the red diamond is my capital, the green with the blue-green mixed in is forest, the plain green is plains, and the yellow is desert. The bold black lines are my national border and the thinner black lines are provincial borders.

There are better ways than to use the brush effect.

I chose the brush effect simply because I like the textured look, that will be my "physical map" for say and I will create a political map using those outlines. I was actually looking for a map generator, but failed to find one, i'm surprised nobody has written one yet.

Not bad. I would make it a Political map though
