Mmmkay. I want to lower my government waste, but I don't know how to do it!

That's too much for me. What type of issues should I choose to lower it (ex: pro-business, pro-enviroment, etc.)?

Can't say I ever worry about it. But the problem is that you have a huge amount of tax dollars coming in, and you're not spending it on enough programs to use it all. So, either choose issue responses that will reduce your taxes, or that create huge new social welfare / health / education / military programs to start using all that money.

Most of the calculators use the NationStates XML feed (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/XML_feed) as their starting point. For the record, that's the ONLY official source of numbers from this game. Everything else is somebody's interpretation of what it might mean.

the game is appearantly predicated on cynicism, as such, i doubt very much that you can.

just as it does not permit reducing or even reducing increase of population and rather absurdly ties tecnological capability (sophistication, not just gross production capacity) to over all size of population.

(what i see as one of its major absurdities)
