Are there any set mechanics of commerce? I see that nations have resources associated to them, but how are they traded? Is it all role-play, or is there some sort of economic process?
Thanx!

[OOC]while we're asking noob questions, I have a couple too:
1)how long is a NS year?
2)how do I go about building, say... an armed forces? So far I've bought some frigates from a store front and I'm looking at equiping several mechinized brigades in the same way... but, how do I raise toops, train them, create an domestic arms industry, etc etc... Do I just start a thread somewhere and start typing to myself? how do I make all this fit within the size of my economy, budget, etc...?
If you haven't guesses, I'm really not too familiar with RPing...

1) A NS year is variable, because of the practice of Fluid-time. It all depends on the RP(as some can take a six months in real-life to move an IC day, while others can pass a century in a week).
2) For an armed force, you can either start off with one(foregoing the need to bother explaining(except in generalities) all the tedious training, logistics, ect), hire foreign mercs/instructors to train your cadre who'll train your soldiers, or build it from the ground up(which would involve mostly posting to yourself. If you go this route, I'd advise your posts don't read like this:
Post one: Trained One Battalion
Post two: Trained One Squadron of Armoured Cavalry

Also, this is Gameplay, not Roleplay. There's no [IC] posts in this forum, as a rule. Most of your roleplay questions are well answered in the two roleplay forums above this one.
You also list your NSwiki entry. Don't discount NSwiki as a fine source for leading questions and answers. Look in Categories Roleplay, Game, and Gameplay for some excellent articles.
