The Emperor/Empress is elected by popular vote by the people of the Empire to serve a lifelong term. The only restriction is that the new Emperor/Empress must be a child of the outgoing one.

The President is elected by popular vote to serve a single 6 year term with the ability to run for a second time. He essentially just works on national issues and stays out of international politics, unlike the Emperor who does both, but more on the international side.

Cabinet officers are listed above in the order of their importance to my roleplay, and how much I actually use them. There are other, unlisted cabinet members I haven't used yet, so they haven't been named yet, and if they haven't been named by now, they can't be very important.

The president acts as head of state and head of government and is elected along with the vice president by an electoral college, which in turn is elected every five years by the voters in the 25 states. Prez and VP are elected separately. Because corporations control the electoral process (even though the elections themselves are free, fair and democratic), candidates must attain corporate sponsors if they hope to get on the ballot or receive very many votes. "If you got the money honey, we got your disease." Cabinet officials are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Federal Senate.

Still in the process of forming itself through revolution the leadership of the Free Republic consists of political prisoners formerly imprisoned on the Salvation through Repentance Re-Education Camp on the small island of Tenobia. The Council of the Free Republic is in charge of the whole of the island (44 square kilometres, 6,300 people) and around 8 blocks of Maryseport, the largest city of Western Rash'ann (0.78 square kilometres, 9,600 people).

local councils are choosen by plurality. they send representatives to choose the next lower ('higher') level by plurality and so on.

there are no titles of office, no political parties, no political campaigning, and no elected individual exercizes any personal authority.

each 'higher' (broader, more federated) level can on limit the execess of the levels below ('above') them. only the highest (most humble, most local) levels can decide anything that affects individual citizens directly.

and as our motto goes: anyone can form a committi.

we do have ways of preventing this system from being overthrown, or staying that way for long. bully boys tend to be reguarded as nepolions of bedlam.

real security is universaly participated in on a rotating basis. children are tought how to monitor and maintain security bots in kindergarten.

the primary mission of government is to keep infrasturcture environmentaly harmonious and sustainable, though anyone can and does contribute to it, and likewise to keep people (all beings possessing a central nervous system are considered people) from freezing, starving, or beating each other over the head (with the exception of carnvours persuing lunch).

transport and energy infrastructure have their own social organizations (directly answerabe to the people, people as defined above) as do research and education, only nominaly under the auspices of govenment. (and again only to keep them environmentaly harmonious)

we do have a strong culture and tradition of self dicipline, obviating the need for the degree of government intervention typical of more advisarial societies.

and we love beautiful gardens and the diversity of them that makes them so.

our centeral economic institutions are the craftufacturing center and the mathom house, obviating the need for any currency other then litteraly: dreams.

Gaia Project - The working arm of the Environmental side of the Ministry of Transport and Environment. The Project has far reaching legal powers to protect the environment and natural spaces and resources. Much of Attica's mountainous interior is actually owned by this department and has all but complete building bans. Gaia Project also determines the environmental standards in manufacturing, transport, housing and buildings, water treatment and waste disposal. It can operate and act independently of the government to prevent environmental damage if environmental experts determine the governments position to be damaging to the environment and is not a genuine and pressing matter of immediate national security. This is determined by the ceremonial president.


Electoral Process
City Forum : This is the local level of democracy. Every city (and town and village for that matter, though they are all referred to as City Forums) has a forum. This is where decisions are made and legislation proposed. All free citizens over the age of majority (21 in the ASAA) whom are citizens of the ASAA may and are encouraged to attend. The forum votes for a City Council from amongst their members who take proposed legislation and form it into legal form and enact it, and administer the affairs of the city. Passing legislation decisions require a full vote of the forum. Councillors are elected for three year terms, and they in turn elect the Council of Ministers. The head of the City Council is a rotating position, shared between all council members during the term of that council.

Council of Ministers: The Council of Ministers is elected by City Council members. It sits in Rhamnous for terms of 5 years. The Prime Minister position is occupied by each minister in rotating turn over the 5 year period. The CoM runs the administrative and legislative affairs of the nation. Major decision including waging war (except when under direct attack) or altering the constitution require a referendum of the City Forums. Lesser affairs simply need a majority vote of the CoM to be enacted.

The Ceremonial President: The president is elected to a 5 year term directly by the City Forums. His or her role is to ensure the electoral system and constitution of the country are protected and that transfer of powers between old and new governments takes place. S/he also protects the freedoms of the people from government, and embodies their culture, aspirations and the nation as a whole. Should legislation being debated be considered by him or her to be fundamentally important to the country or potentially damaging then s/he can force a full vote of all City Forums to decide a second time in a referendum and set a requirement for a super majority (2/3) to be passed if deemed of critical importance to the political culture of the people.

Drahks is actually a nation without a name, as "Drahks" are what the people are, not what the nation is. Anarchy_Balsac of the nation of A_B wanted his military to be entirely comprised of genetically surperior beings. He had good scientists, but, being as he believed strongly in a person's freewill, he didn't have them eradicate it. When they wished to leave the nation, he not only couldn't argue do to his beliefs on the matter, but he also didn't feel like pissing off beings of superior prowess. Project Alpha 1 led everyone below the nation's sky platform to the shade where the Drahks currently are. Not much else is known other than the fact that the average Drahk believes in the forced spending laws.

Razat is actually a divided nation, controlled by various factions. However, one faction is clearly the strongest, and it controls the main army of Razat, the capital city, and the least barren parts of the country.
