I'm currently in the Region, 00000000000, and it states that my trade surplus is roughly eight hundred billion. When I was in a region with fewer members, it dropped to almost zero.

My question is, if you join a region with a higher mount of members, would your economy increase as a result, or is it unrelated?

Since NationStates doesn't publish any public figures (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi/nation=dephire) on your trade deficit, perhaps that's a question better asked to the site that provided those figures.
