Conservatism is one of the great scourges of the world. Today's conservatives embrace "tradition" on a grand scale. Not that tradition is a bad thing - we need something to keep people in line - but conservatives take it to a new level, what with all their "god hates fags" and "science is a conspiracy" stuff.
OK, maybe I'm being too indiscriminate. It's "die-hard Republicans" and "religious conservatives" that usually go for that.
