Okay, I'm a total noob, I got referred to this wonderful site by a friend. HOWEVER. I read all the FAQs and Reviews and Directories I could before my eyes started melting out of my head and I still can't figure out a few dumb questions:
1) I thought that an RP was supposed to be interaction between countries - why is there talk of 'PC's in the FAQ? One character can't really represent a nation unless they're an ambassador or summat.
2) I followed all the links I could find to a Political Beliefs thread, but I still don't even get where we are supposed to debate/talk about politics and beliefs!
Side note: Humongous thanks to Euroslavia, your FAQs and stuff are awesome!

well, Someone has to lead the country.
so you have one PC: the Emeror/president/Fuhrer/Alpha gerbil.
now, as politics can be a messy business, you'll probably want to give 'im some subordinates:
like archdukes, generals, or The minister of silly walks.
now, as for where to debate politics/belifs, well, pick the forum that best suits your style of debate: General for intellectual discussions, II for those who prefer to back their words with weapons.

Ahh, I see - so the PC you RP as is the Head Honcho, so to speak.
Thanks for the forums reference too - I'll begin posting momentarily.
DANKE for helping out a noob!
PCs can be things like national heros, important people(religious/political/buisness/ect leaders) or in character Rps, whichever character you're using.

Minister of Silly Walks. Haha.
The mention of PCs is directed more towards character RPs (which occur more in NationStates) than nation RPs (which occur mainly in II). Your nation is deemed to be the character in nation RPs, generally.
Oh, and Gelfland -- my country has no leader. :p

Please clarify - I don't think I have this quite right.
So a PC can be a character, but it can ALSO be a nation? What rules and regs are there to determine who wins wars and such? (Or is this just a neverending "Bang You're Dead" fest?)

OOC: Good manners. If you don't play nicely then people will ignore you...
Oh, and there's another forum for RP with PCs, as well as the ones that the earlier visitors to this thread mentioned: The 'UN forum' is [mainly] for discussing possible UN Resolutions, and some people use specific politicians or ambssadors as their mouthpieces there...
These generally gives good advice on Rp.

Wars can be either a free-form style(either side may win(generally whoever can outthink/trick/grind his opponent)) or 'scripted' where one side is already fated to lose, and just the hows are left to the RPers.

Excellent links. Danke again for helping out a noob!
Np, but it's Newb, not Noob.
Newb is a positive connotation for a beginner, Noob/N00b is a negative one.
