Question: Uniting regions

Have two or more regions ever decided to come together and form a single region? Or a large region absorbs a smaller one? How would this be started and carried out?

There is no 'special' way, you either have to get the members of one region to move into another region or you get members of both regions to move into a new region.

It happens frequently, espescially between extremely close military alliances.

Sometimes I've seen the members of a region pack up and move to another because their own region was dying. But there does not seem to be any way to merge regions any more than there is a way to merge nations.

Interesting...

So what if Esteria (my region) started an 'outreach' programme, in order to persuade nations in small regions to join us? It would work through this forum and NOT involve spamming in player regions (which I'm told is illegal).

You would have to persuade them to move into your region, which would be difficult.

Like someone said before: Close allainces whether miltary, economic, etc...are your best bets in merging regions. LOL. One of the few actual things in this game that reflects reality. An alternative is to have some allied states send a delegate to your region as either a puppet state or a represenative.

World Court is attempting something similar in style if not in purpose. He wants to create a windmill chasing order to help resolve differences between regions. It might be a starting place to have your region as a Neutral Confederation that offers to mediate between powers. A power broker neutral region if you will. Say modeled on the Swiss?

Good Luck on your Mission!

Sure no problem. Good luck.

Windmills? It is an allusion to Cervantes novel! It means to me a foolish and hopeless cause...but still noble and sad...it is out of place but gloriously weird!

"The novel Don Quixote, tells how Alonso Quixano, an elderly Spanish hidalgo, or country gentleman, went mad after reading too many stories about knights errant, the heroes of the romances of chivalry. Taking the name Don Quixote and clad in ancient armour, he sets out on his worn-out horse, Rocinante, to right wrongs and fight for justice. He also acquires a squire, the peasant Sancho Panza. Reality is much harsher and he frequently gets badly beaten by those he seeks to aid. By the second part of Don Quixote the knight and squire are well known, as many people they meet have read the first part of the novel and they play up to Don Quixote's delusions. Gradually, however, as his dream fades, Don Quixote's sanity is restored and he returns home to die, not as a knight errant, but as Alonso Quixano."
