why do all the international rollplays have to ...
why do all the international rollplays have to, or seem to have to, be either wars, or some sort of athletic or other competitions?
my idea of nation building is about infrastructure, well being of the populace, and keeping both in some sort of environmentaly sustainable harmony, and the same goes for being a reasonable objective for international relations.
just because the forign policies of the dominant real world soverign nations seem to be aggressive to the point of being hostile, if not beyond, is it really de'regor of nation states that we emulate them?
and if the gratification of creating and exploring is not welcome in this context, anyone wishing to tm me with the url's of places where it is, will be greatly appreaciated.

Games allows you to copy the real world or do what you'd never be able to. Anyway, I love Sid Meier's Civilization Saga, where you can chose between an agresive and polutioning way to victory or a clean, pacifist and "nicer" way.

Exactly my feelings! BUT
I think that it really depends on getting a couple of people together with similar interests and start playing
I am new to NS, so I may simply not have discovered those RPs yet
For example, an RP that I'd like to play in is one where there is a constant threat of war (deep distrust among nations), and where the objective is to find a way (diplomacy, other means) to not let that war happen. I haven't yet had a chance to really think this through though, so it might not work (if all know that there is a way, then it could be quite lame to play).
The seemingly constant :sniper: :mp5: :gundge: war threads is one of my peeves. I want a realistic nation, and realistically, even a one-sided war is likely to have serious consequences for both sides. I wouldn't mind rattling my saber, but I'd rather not actually draw it. Think of the (virtual) people! :)

Exactly!
The Same is with Past Tech, they are all war RL, or Mideval.

I see diplomatic RPs once in a while. Of course, you can always start something more peaceful yourself.
