I have read throughout the forums about getting specific buildings and enterprises, specific people in your country, getting armies, etc. However, all I know how to do is deal with the one issue i get per day! How do I do all this extra stuff?

Yes, the people of NS roleplay tend to be an imaginative bunch. There's no game stats for war, no detailed economic stats, or detailed political structures. But people have managed to come up with different ideas for all of them on their own.
