Universal Draft: everyone capable of pulling a trigger should become a part of the Army, Navy or Air Force.

All Civilians will be cross-trained into a Military Branch...

This issue sounded like a decent idea...Anyone wanna Comment before i consider RP'ing the into my Nation's Storyline

You should have an active duty military, then have everybody else trained and put in reserve and let them live out their life. Who will do the civilian jobs?

and dont forget the Marines, you have to have the Marines cuz Marines are bada$$

A full draft has the effect of...
-Lowering Morale: Not everyone wants to fight on the front lines!
-Lowers the ability of the military overall: You have less time to train each individual in a larger, more unwilling, less selective force than you would if you had a purely volunteer force.
-Your military won't be as well equipped: You will probably be forced to skimp on fire arms, vehicals, armor, etc. somewhere along the line. You may have a 20 million man infantry, but it won't do you any good if they are using inferior equipment! So what, you have 50 mechanized divisions. It doesn't do you any good that they are in BMP1's against my 5 Warrior Divisions supported by state-of-the-art air assault units!

You might also wish to take into consideration the amount of time a person will be in the military. The issue doesn't mean that the person is in the military from 12-45, it means that every citizen must serve time in the Military, much like Taiwan (though there are many loopholes around it). The game doesn't take into consideration the time factor.

Oh yeah, the quality of training and equipment is also based on the level of intelligence of the population as well as the economic standing of the nation. Smart nations usually have better trained forces and better equipment, ditto for richer countries and there are also other issues that will effect the level of skill of an individual soldier (there is a training issue that will be a major factor in determine the relative merits of an individual soldier).
