I know an AWESOME roleplaying region. We dropped the invader/defender aspect, but it's still great.
Oh wait, you were kicked out of that region for godmoding, ripping your RP ideas off of an anime, acting increadible disrespectful towards other region members (including the mods), and just generaly being a n00b. I imagine the same will happen in any other truly good region you find. :D

1. I never godmoded, at least not anymore then you guys did.
2. What the fuck are you talking about?
3. They were acting disrespectful towards ME
4. I left, get it right you retard.
5. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
CAN'T YOU JUST FUCKING LEAVE ME ALONE
You were no 'truly good reigon.' You used an unrealistic military calculator, one, as Hendoria pointed out, wouldn't even let a country with the population of the United States have TANKS. Even with 1.4 Billion people and a fair economy one has a weak military of reservists, and one that is heavily bias towards one of those damned ETA or NAsomeretardedacroynm organizations.
Stop acting like a bitch, I'm gone, leave me alone, you continue to piss me off in telegrams and post bullfuckingshit about me on your forum.
I don't even think I like nationstates anymore when motherfuckers like you can't just LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE

TMS:
1. Calm down.
2. I may as well put in a pinch for Antarctic Oasis. We don't really do any gameplay, but we do the odd bit, and some of us have links to defender organizations. We also have an off-site forum, and have plenty of roleplayers.
Not exactly the most serious region - be prepared for exploding penguins, swearing dolphins, and the word "goat" finding its way into every third sentence - but we have fun nonetheless. Also, most of us are fairly capitalist nations, so maybe having a communist would make a change.
3. If not, no worries. There are plenty of good roleplaying regions - Wysteria, for example.

Wow. You know TMS I was going to stay out of this one, but again, you have forced me -yet again- to take some action.
1. You godmodded more times in the first month than any player I have ever seen before. You did what you wanted to - having agents killing tons of armed guards with no resistance whatsoever is one of the famous GMs that I remember off hand. We didnt GodMod - not even after you did. We played by the rules, and you didnt.
2. How about defining what you want the other person to explain?
3. You called ME (the regional founder and forum Admin) a 'tightwad bitch' as well as called other severely disrespectful names to other members of the forum and region. That was not acceptable, and clearly here in the post I now quote, everyone will understand that you were the one being disrespectful.
4. You were detained for a Court Hearing on your case. You left because you were about to get banned for your terrible conduct. And please, dont use the name 'retard' its a terrible thing to say to someone.
5. Nuekallaya was voicing his opinion on you, although perhaps he should not have so readily, you dont have to resort to swearing at anyone.
6. The Military Calculator quite clearly states that it is not, and will never be for realistic interpretation. It is for the best for our Roleplaying, not realism. All of our current members dont have a problem with it - in fact many of them love the thing and are constantly looking to make it better.
7. The rest of your post mostly contains swearing and disrespect. I will allow it to be the testament to your character for others to know exactly what happened here with you.
Enjoy the rest of your career here at NationStates TMS, hopefully we will never have to come in contact again.

What exactly is this "military calculator?" I'm still a n00b when it comes to role-playing in this game, having never actually done it.

Well, there are some who use the NSEconomy to calculate their militaries, however I found that to be far too time consuming - and frankly just too much number crunching. Some people like it, and some people dont.
I am part of the latter group, so I sat down and fully designed my own Simple Military Calculator in which nations could use to calculate our militaries for a good simple concrete roleplay.
Now, I admitted quite clearly in my 'Goals' when creating it that the calculator would not be realistic. I started with that idea from the very beginning. Saying that it is true to life would raise so many questions that we would have to abandon the simplicity that I was looking for.
Here it is if you'd like to take a look at it in more detail:

But the deal was that TMS apparently didnt want to work within the ruleset nor the boundries of the calculator. We warned him that using weapons outside of both modern tech and those that were not in on the MilCal would result in a charge of GodModding.
I have, since I first created it, been extremely open to revising and updating the calculator in order to make it better. I have a 'Feedback' thread in which people voice their opinions and then present suggestions that they would like to see added. We debate them, some are a added, some are not.
TMS used a giagantic artillery gun that caused nuclear radiation. He used it numerous times in his roleplay even though we told him he was not allowed to do so. Then he tried to use Mechs. Yes, those large mech warrior battle suits. We are firmly modern tech, and we didnt appreciate the GodModding and the abuse of the calculator.
We detained him for a fair and laborous Court hearing in order to allow him to speak his case and prove to us that he wanted to stay with us. He instead called us names further and jumped the region.
It seems as though these rules that we have in place to create more concrete, fair and smooth roleplays was not his cup of tea. I told him that before he even arrived and clearly had not heeded my words.
The Honor Guard is not for everyone, for those who love free form or post-modern tech or magic - we are not for them. But for those who are dedicated to working on their roleplays and their nations in a realistic and believeable manner, and follow the simple rules that we have in place for everyone's fun - then we are the greatest region for them.
