Ah, the United Nations
Progressive thought, of course. I was just wondering. If all of the nations in the game with a particular agenda ('with oppression and fascism for all', for example) were to join, and outnumber the regular UN folk, could they not change the UN into a warmongering fascist organization?
Because it'd make my day to see the UN discussing the most effective means of torturing dissidents, subjugating the masses, etc.

Hmmm. I managed to do okay with national sovereignty. Maybe I'll try warmongering fascism next...

Warmongering fascism is over-rated. Evil Conservatism can be real fun though.:D
Palentine, in the extreme, conservatism is fascism.
Of course, in the extreme, liberalism is socialism...well, not so much in the extreme...

outnumber the regular UN folk, could they not change the UN into a warmongering fascist organization?Probably not. The UN isn't one nation, one vote, after all. A region with 50 UN members doesn't have 50 votes; it can have up to 99, as the Delegate get votes equal to the number of people endorcing him. To be able to solidify a solid swing, you would need, in a single region, roughly 5000 to 6000 UN members, all unique people, all voting the same way. Good luck.
Furthermore, many of the views of "warmongering fascists" would run afoul of the Proposal Rules.

OOC: Actually, several of the RL 'political parties that normally get labelled as 'fascist' were founded by ex-socialists (e.g. Mussolini, or the pre-Hitler Nazis...)

Which is probably why only one in four of all nations are in the UN...
Democracy, both here and IRL, is tyranny by majority, plain and simple...case example why I quit the UN after like, a week... because it kept shifting my nation in wrong direction.

Which is probably why only one in four of all nations are in the UN...That and the whole one UN nation per person thing.
Democracy, both here and IRL, is tyranny by majority, plain and simple...case example why I quit the UN after like, a week... because it kept shifting my nation in wrong direction.
And if you were in the UN for only a week you were affected by two resolutions at most, that shouldn't have made that much of a difference.
