Welcome to NationStates! :)
I'd basically read every sticky in the forums and also the FAQ. If you do all that, then things will become clearer although it will take a while for you to understand how NS works.
Cluichstan please be nice to newbies, since they're new to the game they are hardly going to know what to ask about.

Hey, I could've done worse -- like posting this, for example.

well, i would suggest just going to someone in the game whos been playing a while and ask them everythin and anything you want to know. personally i would be glad to do this for anyone. you can come to my region or just message me if you would like. i'm always glad to help people new to the nationstates community because once i was there and i was doing the same thing...
just dont ask me about forums, i'm not very good with them. lol
:D  :)

Penguins are only a minor problem here, no matter what others may say. Just something to keep in mind when the pest-control salesman shows up at your nation.

What is this...how you say...compassion? ;)
We have several new members in Gatesville as well who have been asking multiple questions. If you go to the link that says "The World" on the left and click on it, then type in "Gatesville" under find region and scroll to the bottom of the screen, there are several questions and answers there to help them out. I would hope that they would be helpful to you as well.
If you have any further questions, just send a telegram to Nevadar. I would be happy to assist you.
Hey if your intrested in any alliances, please give me a TG :)

here's my advice (how I got started): find a region that's helpful and friendly, probably between 10 and 50 nations. Then you can learn as you go.

If you want advice on regions, then I would suggest one of the Pacifics or The Lexicon or a small region with between 20-50 members.
Werto, I would really advise you to stop putting random smilies at the end of your posts.:)

Have you ever been to any other forum? It's same thing, people are creating stupid threads, you are making stupid posts, and everybody are happy.

Unless they're the Antarctic Oasis region's military-specification exploding penguins!

How about, because when the person making the suggestion is a mod, it's probably a good idea to listen to him.
What Mod?

Is there anyway to speed up the decision making process, so that I don't have to wait overnight to decide on another issue? It would seem rather slow if that was the case.

You can use the 'Settings' page to order two issues per day, but that's the upper limit allowed. Remember that there's only a limited number of different issues available, so that the faster you take them the faster you're likely to get repeated ones...
